Jack's hand fell away from the Intercom as he looked around his room for his clothes. He sighed heavily, wrestling with the decision to tell his crew the truth of this rescue mission. He meandered around his room putting his clothes on then sat down on his bed to lace up his boots, talking under his breath a little as he did so. "Doesn't matter the decision they'll still need to be informed on part of the situation." He sighed as he pushed himself off his bed and began to walk out of his room towards the helm.
-
Mendel heard the intercom as he finished up with the last electrical pannel in the level. He stood and proceeded to the helm of the ship watching the hull for any irregularities along the way. " Wonder what's the mission." He spoke softly to himself. " Hmmm hope they don't scratch ya up too much babe" he says patting the side of the hall. His mind wandered breifly on the interview before arriving /"you got quite the commendation, and these... uh special skills?" A strange man asked with a huge grin as Mendel picks up a steel pen and melts it into a hot pool in his hands/

Luci groaned and sat up in her bunk, rubbing her temples. these damn headaches keep getting worse... They always follow those dreams...I was... I... Huh. What was happening in my dream? they were the kind of dreams one can never recall when awake, but that seem so vivid at the time. She dropped her hands from her temples and pulled her boots on; she'd slept in her uniform pants and a tank top. She then stood and started to the helm, a scowl set as her expression.

Skye paced around engineering, making sure everyone was doing their jobs correctly before getting to work himself. He should just be supervising since he was higher up, but he enjoyed the work and the men liked having a boss not afraid to help out and get their hands dirty. He squeezed in between a few large capacitor banks back to one of the darker sections. After all, she glowed. Skye was heading back to make sure the back up generators and the artificial gravity generators were not in need of work.
-
As Mendel snapped back he realized that the crew needed their meal. "Oh dear... breakfast time... tee minuse= twenty-nine minutes" He whispered as he rushed and changed his path to the galley. He then proceeded to grab a bar from his pouch and eat it with haste. "Mmmmm freezedried icecream flavor... suppose I should whip something up for everyone else too." He said aloud as he passed crew quarters. "soy eggs and pancakes with our favorite green shake today everyone! ... warming up now, food in ten boys" he yelled out as he smacked the hardened tip of his tail, repeatedly against the closed doors of the crew. (is it alright if i just skip my guy to the galley? just wanna know)
-
Luci stopped dead in her tracks beside Mendel at the mention of soy eggs. "There's a reason we have real meat and eggs aboard... If I get that fake crap again, instead of the good stuff, I'm going to be incredibly unhappy with you. Is that clear?"
-
Skye wiggled into the chamber that housed the gravity generator. the alien carefully inspected the generator before discovering a burned out voltage regulation module. This was one of 20 generators on the ship, he'd have to cut it off to work on it, unfortunate considering this one stabilized the kitchen area. She sighed, paging the department head before going to fetch a replacement unit.
-
Mendel chuckled at lucis threat and gave a reaferming "aye aye " upon entering the kitchen he noticed the gravity was acting up. "One thing after another today" he stated grabbing the eggs and bacon from the cooler. In no time Mendel is mixing up the ingredients for pancakes proceeding to throw some diced bananas into the mix. "And now for you, my sizzeling friends" he stated with a malicious tone. As he let the mixing bowl float in place as he tore into the huge bag of bacon and set them in mid air in front of him. "OK OK flash fry time..." he said to himself as he extended his right arm at the bacon and focused. He could hear the fat popping and sizzling out of the tasty strips. Soon enough the bacon is done and Mendel gathers them in a bowl leaving the oil floating freely. Immediately Mendel cracked two dozen eggs mid air and began whisking them with a fork and adding spices. After using the bacon grease to help fry the scrambled eggs (which looked like a twister mid air),Mendel poured a nice sized bubble of oil and began heating it with his hands. Spoon by spoon Mendel dropped dough ball after doughball into the frying oil . After all the work he quickly gets the mess out of the way and the food ready to serve shakes included. "Now lets get you to the others." He says pushing the cart out of the gally, filled with the decadent breakfast he was taught (for the most part) to make. " Come and get it!" He yelled down the corridor " banana pancake balls, bacon, scrambled eggs, and of course our favorite drink of the day, oh and I have some soy eggs too." He stated with a smile.
-
Jack walked through the mess hall eyeing his crew. "Don't forget meeting in 15 minutes. I've moved the location to the bridge" He Walked over to Mendel and just gave him a look of give me my usual. The Captain's usual was not hard to remember seeing as it consisted of bacon, eggs, and coffee. "I swear to the Great Beyond i'll strangle Skye lest this problem get's fixed." It quickly dawned on that the ship never had intercomms installed in the Engineering department due to the noise being generated would drowned out any PA. "Stupid ship...should have intercomms every where..." Jack grabbed on of the crew members and sent her running to deliver the message about the meeting in 15 minutes.
-
The artificial gravity generator was repaired withing 30 minutes, a fairly uneventful job for Skye, even if it wouldn't be so for the people experiencing heavier and lighter gravity fluctuations. He made a note in the repair logs before doing a few tests on the backup generators, she marked those down in the logs as well, which instantly uploaded to the engineering departments master maintenance logs so that everyone could see where maintenance was and was not needed. Skye headed back to the capacitor bank she had squeezed through, when there he was met by a fur who had come to deliver a message...and was stuck "You look like you could use some help"
-
"Just a little..but more importantly Captain Jack Quintus wanted me to let you know that there is a meeting on the bridge in...15 minutes i think it was." The Fox girl began wiggling to try and get unstuck, after a few unsuccessful tries she looked at Sky. "Would you mind lending me a hand?"
-
"Well damn, it'll take me eight minutes just to get up there!" he sighed "You shouldn't be wiggling first of all, those capacitors dump their power to the tertiary rail turrets, it you touch two of the terminals you'll turn into a pile of ash" She slid into the gap, climbing over the fox to get to the other side "Okay, I need you to do three things, First lock up your legs, then let your spine go as limp as you can, after that I need you to take a deep breath in, and breath out until your chest hurts"
-
She went rigid at hearing she could turn. "Alright.." She tensed up her legs locking them as tight as she could. He took in a few deep breaths before letting all the air out of her lungs and let her spine go limp.
-
Skye tugged on Her arm, sliding her out relatively easy "There ya go, be careful around here, the engineering sector is dangerous at ALL times, and doubly so if the ship is under attack" she Started walking to her room, making to clean herself up and put on a fresh pair of clothes. before making the walk from engineering to the bridge.
-
Luci made her way to the bridge and sat in her chair, crossing her legs and rubbing her temples once more as she waited for her breakfast, and for everyone else to arrive. She spread her wings out to the sides, attempting to relax.
-
Mendel rounds the corner to the bridge. "Morning luci" he said in a light voice as he pushed the breakfast cart towards her. Breakfast of champs today " he stated as he began setting the table making sure to heat each plate before setting them down. He then put down the glasses as he heated the coffee with his spare hand. After he set the coffee down he then set out the food( serving spoon and tongs included.. "oh and let's not forget this!" He said as he lifted a large pitcher of health shake and set it down in front of luci. "You first deary" the slight feminine tone in his voice quite apparent. "And drink the whole cup this time" he said patting her shoulder, his hand cold as the metal table in front of him.
-
Jack made his way to the bridge. "Thought i smelled some bacon and eggs up here. Well if it isn't my most two people ever." As he walked over to his chair he patted Mendel on the back and gripped Luci's shoulder
-
"I am going to kill you..." Luci muttered, glaring at Mendel, then glancing up to Jack. "I'm going to kill him, Captain."
-
" Good luck honey" mendel said sarcastically as he pulled out another pitcher and mug "here ya go captain. Hot and strong just as you like. Cream and sugar on the table" he stated handing jack the mug of coffee. He then turn back to luci " girl i am not about catch frac from cap about his crew not being 100%. So drink up. And enjoy the yummy food. Goodness knows I can't." Mendel finally settled down into his favorite chair after leaving the empty cart in the corner. He scanned back and forth taking everything in. His bare feet picking up the light vibrations of the hull and the hum of the engines.
-
"Watch yourself. I'm your commander, not your honey, understood?" Luci practically growled, nudging the health drink to the side and "accidently" knocking it to the floor, then picking up a piece of bacon instead.
-
Jack snickered as he sipped his coffee. "Now now, you two need to at least tolerate eachother seeing as most of us will be going on the rescue mission." Jack looked at his watch. "Just a bit longer then we can get started"
-
"No disrespect, but I don't care if you are the queen of England. Captain's and corporate orders overrule your rank. Now drink it!" Mendel stated his tone growing colder and more agrivated, as he pours another glass and slides it a cross the table. " I'll remind you that I am not another military grunt you can just throw around, and while I take orders I don't take weight throwing.!" His hands visibly radiating waves of heat at this point. He proceeded to unclench his hands and take a deep breath letting the heat dissipate. "So cap what is the story on our mission, any survivors? Or are they just stranded?"
-
"That bloody health drink does nothing, and it tastes like hell to boot." Luci said, popping the bacon into her mouth nd rubbing her temples once more. "I will not touch it."
-
Skye knew she might be a little late but she smelled bacon and her stomach growled at her. He stepped into the Dining room area to grab some food.
-
Mendel stood and walked to the intercom. He pressed the button and began to speak. "Attention crew... Attention crew, this is your favorite cook speaking for those not aware muster and breakfast are taking place on the bridge now... I repeat on the bridge." He then sat back down giving luci a little glare. Before returning his attention to the captain.
-
Jack just snickered at the little dispute between Mendel and Luci. "I'm sorry Mendel that shake doesn't taste that great, but you should be drinking it Luci. It may not seem like it does much, but that's because you haven't gotten injured yet. It temporarily helps with the recovery process."
-
"Then shouldn't we be drinking it in the case of injury?" Luci asked. "Not wasting it by drinkin it every damn morning?" She was annoyed and the headache wouldn't leave, adding to her annoyance.
-
Mendel rubbed his temples in frustration. "Jeez don't you know anything. Basic biology... come on. You can't just drink it and heal. Your cells have to be evenly saturated in order for the compound to even take affect." He turns to jack with a serious look. "Captain please tell me everyone got the same debriefing. It's all there." He stated in a serious tone, as he pulled out a small holo-book and slid it across the table to luci. "It also helps you carbons acclimate to the increases and decreases in gravity of space. Lucky enough for me my bones don't deteriorate like yours. Regardless we all have to drink it. Just like I have to eat these bars to do my job"
-
Skye stepped out of the kitchen, his entire plate full of bacon. She carried a mug that smelled of hot chocolate and saluted before sitting beside the captain.
-
Jack nodded at Skye. "Well now that we're all here there's some things i need to tell you about this rescue mission." Jack stood up walking over to the holo-projector and tossing up an image of somewhat clunky looking space suit in the middle of the group, it looked some what similar to an EOD suit. "These suits are what's in the unmarked containers in storage, four of them four of us. Now you're probably wondering why we would need those for a rescue mission, and if you have guessed it by now this isn't a simple rescue mission." Jack began pacing back and forth. "The crew we have been sent after managed to an anomaly our scientist have taken to calling the Dark Infinite, and what it is, is a tear in the fabric of time and space that actually moves around and isn't locked into one place. However what makes this one more dangerous is that nothing has ever come out, if you payed any mind to the Time Rift Jump test we preformed a few years back we had sent probes into other rifts to see if they could be harnessed for time travel. Some returned with wear and tear of many ages while others returned newer than when we sent them in. However, out of all 20 probes that haven been sent into, the since then dubbed Dark Infinite, all have had total system failure within seconds." Jack managed to stop his pacing and walked over to the suit hologram. "Hence these, now remember they are merely prototypes." He shot a look over at Skye "They're also government property so no altering them, but they are specifically designed off the information of the TRJ studies to protect us by generating a small personal stasis field which can be expanded to include two people. The suit's ability has a 36 hour life span when generating the personal stasis field however when expanded that drops down by a little under half, most trial runs put the drop off rate at 10 hours." Jack walked over to his chair letting out a deep sigh as he did so. "Any questions?"
-
"I have a question" skye piped up "Define modifications"
-
"Hey skye. Bet you couldn't modify the gloves to act like a thermal charger or amplifier for the shield." Mendel stated tauntingly hoping she might try and prove him wrong. He then paused and began to wonder. " So captain... why the extra protection, I thoughtthey proved that the radiations emitted have minimal impact on organics? At least that's what they said back on earth."
-
"You'd like that wouldn't you?" he grinned wolfing down his bacon "I'm not stupid, we've been through this before, and i'm not doing it again" she squirmed around in his seat "I was more thinking Race modding it and adding in supplementary kinetic actuators" he shifted again in his seat "Anyone feel hot?"
-
Mendel raised his hand answering skyes question jokingly. " awe come on it was only a little explosion, how was I supposed to know I would blow the main drive. Our calculations were spot on and you know it." He said giving a wide grin before downing his health shake. "Besides how do you know we might not need more time? What if we meet hostiles?"
-
"No, MY calculations were spot on" he took a sip of some kind of reddish juice "Why are you taking me anyway? Surely you would take the chief engineer? The old man'll be pissed if he finds out you're taking his first assistant instead of him just because i'm younger"
-
"Admittedly I should have considered the possiblity of sneezing on the first try." Mendel said chuckling a little. "Well I suppose I could ask the chief engineer I suppose he would appreciate the challenge more . Especially dealing with temperatures exceeding 1000°C." He says jokingly
-
"Hey, Mr. Rules and Regulations...." Luci said, looking up and locking her strange purple-ish blue eyes onto Mendel. "He said no modifying the suits. That means NO modifying the suits."
-
"And how are you this morning Commander Ripley?" he sat up a little straighter not having realized she was here "Did my request for leave next month ever make it through?"
-
"Do they ever?" Luci replied sarcastically. "No... Don't worry, though, mine didnt either."
-
" touche luci ... touche" Mendel said leaning back. " I'm gonna need my gloves clear incase of any hostels or obsticals"
-
Jack just laughed at his crew's banter. "absolutely no modifications what so ever. It has a live tech feed the entire time, any tampering will result in a strip of rank and being confined to the brig."
-
"Point, Commander Ripley." Luci said, taking one hand away from rubbing her temples just long enough to hold up her index finger, then going back to rubbing her temples, eyes closed.
-
"As you command" responded with a respectful nod. "Well I see no need to dilly dally let's get to it. How long til we intersect our target?"
-
"And how are you this morning Commander Ripley?" he sat up a little straighter not having realized she was here "Did my request for leave next month ever make it through?" she was pouting a little at the 'no modifications' rule.
-
"Do they ever?" Luci replied sarcastically. "No... Don't worry, though, mine didnt either."
-
She frowned again, seemingly extremely bothered about it "Great, can't even get off once every two years"
-
"If nav is correct just a few more hours until we reach the breach. We will suit up then go for a small space walk. The higher ups don't want us getting the ship too close if something goes wrong." Jack looked at his watch. "Feel free to mingle or go about your duties as you see fit, I'll call over the Comms when we need to assemble."
-
"You do realize there's no comms in the engineering bay right?"
-
"I'll send somebody for you again, hopefully whomever i send won't be an idiot and get stuck." Jack shook his head. "We'll assemble in the cargo bay whenever it's go time. However i'll be heading down there virtually now readying the suits and running diagnostics on them."
-
"Having a virtual trip, huh?" Luci asked, not looking up. "Captain only, or can officers accompany?"
-
"Hmm well I could just take a break for the next few hours, I've been putting in a lot of overtime in the engineering bay...The place won't fall apart without me, but you never did answer my question about why you're not taking the chief engineer"
-
"Feel free to join me" Jack soon began talking in a sarcastic tone. "Brace yourself however, running diagnostics is so intriguing it may melt your mind." He laughed at himself a little before shaking his head and then began walking towards the cargo bay.
-
(You never did answer skye's question)
-
"It'd be nothing new..." Luci said, standing and following Jack. "I'm pretty sure it's melted right now."
-
"Brain melting?.. I'm in" Mendel said excitedly as he stood. "no sense in lazing about. Now about the temperature limits of the suits fibers?" He asked jack as he walked with him. His hips and tail swishing back and fourth. He made sure each step was exact to check for any problems in the the ship.
-
"And now I'm out." Luci said, shooting Mendel a rather dirty look before heading back to her personal quarters. "If anyone needs me, I'll be in my bunk, trying to prevent my skull from fragmenting."
-
Skye followed her a little ways "Commander Ripley mam?" He half-jogged after her. "Permission to speak?"
-
"Go ahead, Skye..." Luci said, though she didn't slow down or stop; they could talk on the move. "What do you need?"
-
"um it''s about my leave of absence...What do you know of my people?"
-
"About as much as the rest of the crew." Luci answered, opening her quarters. "So... Not much. Come in... What does it have to do with your leave?"
-
"Next month and the month after that is uh...Well it's a special time that comes every two years for me and it could cause problems if I stay here." the odd little alien was clearly nervous.
-
"All I can do is put in another request." Luci said, sitting on her bunk. "You know that as well as I do. And even then, there's no guarantee we'll be back in port by then."
-
he sat down, his ears drooping "Yeah..." but after a moment his ears perked up "you say you don't know much about my species? Got any questions?" she seemed happy at the opportunity to talk a little about herself.
-
"Not really... No..." Luci replied. "But feel free to tell me about yourself... Er, your species, that is. Maybe it will help at some point."
-
"Well, where do we start? I guess I could start by covering the differences between us and earth rabbits" he stood, pointing out the bioluminescent patches on his body. "Our scientists think we evolved to Glow in the dark because on my planet there are forests so thick that they are in an eternal night, we hunted by pack and the lights helped us coordinate our movements...as well as glowing more brightly when someone was ready to mate" She sat back down "My dietary information should be in my files, and it's no secret that i'm omnivorous, but prefer meat"
(since Skye's gender isn't exactly a listed thing you could ask about that, probably wouldn't tell otherwise, and i've come up with a peculiar way of handling it)
-
"Which is also different from rabbits. Don't take any offencce at this, but I'm going to lie down." Luci said, doing just that. "Go on... You're what? Neither male nor female? Or both?"
-
"Um...in the way you define gender...both, kinda. When you are born you are what you would call a spring or an autumn, but my planet's year is about twice your earth year, so spring begins one year autumn is another. Springs have six different mating cycles, and so do autumns, but a given person will only go into heat one of these twelve seasons...we can number them one to twelve, lets suppose your cycle started at 1, you would go into heat and get pregnant or not. This is when your estrogen would be the highest. It drops and testosterone raises until sixth cycle when you are most masculine. We can only get pregnant during our cycle, but our "male" parts are always active but become impotent during our cycle or when with child." she paused a moment to breathe "If you were born season 1-6 you would be a spring, and 7-12 you would be an autumn, make sense?"
-
Mendel continued to walk with jack. turning his head he shouted "those headaches might ease up if you finished those shakes more" he said with a chuckle. he then turned back to the captain. " Sir would you like to do a test run with the suites? it might be prudent to make sure they are at least space ready... i know you must have read my file right? "
-
"So, that's why you want leave?" Luci asked. "Because you're going to become a female?"
-
"Um...yes?" he seemed uncertain as to whether this was a good answer or not "Well...in your species biological gender is a binary constant, in mine it is a variable sliding scale. I suppose you could say i'm becoming more female every day, and after mating season i'll be becoming more male every day"
-
(You never did answer skye's question)
(About that, it never popped up on my screen until i briefly checked the day after we posted terribly sorry about that.)
Jack glanced over at Mendel. "That is a fairly good idea, they'd only be exposed to the vacuum of space for about 20 minutes on the way in and on the way out. I'll run virtual diagnostics on the others while you take one on a quick space walk."
-
"Fantastic the outer hull is much overdue for a checkup. Better suite up then" Mendel said jogging ahead to get ready , as he reached into his pouch pulling out another bar and quickly scarfing it down. In minutes he is getting his suit ready for the space walk.
-
.....
-
(actually I'm pretty sure hull repairs and checkups would be handled by Engineering, Skye runs a tight ship, wouldn't let something like that get overlooked)
-
"Um...yes?" he seemed uncertain as to whether this was a good answer or not "Well...in your species biological gender is a binary constant, in mine it is a variable sliding scale. I suppose you could say i'm becoming more female every day, and after mating season i'll be becoming more male every day"
"The higher-ups won't like that as an excuse..." Luci said. "They didnt seem to care to give you leave before anyways."
-
She frowned "I see...I was hoping that since I was in an officer position this time around I would get a break"She squirmed a little "It's been awhile since
I've been home, I really miss it"
-
"Tell me about it. That's the third time they've denied my request for leave." Luci said. "I'll put in another request for you, but that's all I can do."
-
(Actually he has the training of an engineer, they hired him for additional staff in engineering , less chance of loosing him in a space walks plus his hands act as welding torches for repairs. He just usually doesn't go into the main engine room due to the noise drowning out the rest of the ships regular creaks and groans. He also handles the crews nutrition for one of his main jobs.)
-
"Thanks, I really appreciate the help" she stared off into space for a minute "So what about you? How is your job?"
-
"Endless hours of paperwork and dealing with an annoying... Whatever he is, who doesn't respect my authority?" Luci said, voice dripping sarcasm. "It's a bloody wonderland of fun times."
-
"I Hate the paperwork too...I just want to fix the damn air purifier, not fill out 15 forms then fix the bloody thing, As for him being annoying...you're his boss, why not discipline him?" she seemed a little perplexed "I mean I tend to avoid doing it, but when one of mine refuses to listen or shirks their duties, I kinda have to" She frowned "Otherwise the old man does it to both them AND me"
-
"I have no idea why I don't..." Luci replied with a shrug. "I could and- oh my god, I'm becoming a nice person! Now I really need to discipline him..."
-
"Wow...Sorry but you got issues" she looked at her wrist, pulling up a holographic display and looking over what maintenance was done, and was being performed, as well as what needed to be done.
-
"You're telling me." Luci said. "I don't even remember most of my life... Now, don't you have something to be doing?"
-
"Yes and no" she started moving stuff around on the schedules "I could be going out to work on things, but if I don't take a break every once in a while I'll collapse" she paused for a moment "If you'd like me to leave you could just ask"
-
"Alright. Would you please leave?" Luci asked. "I want to take a nap to see if I can get rid of this bloody headache, then I have some imprortant paperwork to do, including your leave request."
-
"Sure, and thanks again...Let me know if you need anything" She headed out the door, heading towards the recreations area (we have one of those right?)
-
As Captain Quintus unlocked the containers housing the custom space suits shipwide alarms began going off. Jack walked over to the nearby comms unit. "Bridge what is with these alarms, we just ran diagnostics everything checked out golden!" "Everything is fine sir we've check and double checked. There's nothing wrong with the ship itself, but the area around the ship. "What?! That makes no sense, what do you mean the area around the ship." "Well sir, our readings show that...well that the anomaly came to us, it's emitting some sort of interference causing the alarms to go off." Jack swore under his breath. "Very well monitor the situation." He clicked of the comms unit. He turned to look at Mendel "Looks like the suits are getting a live field test." He turned back to the comms unit changing it's channel to station wide. "Luci and Skye report to the cargo hold immediately."
-
Luci sighed and sat up in her bed, then headed towards the cargo hold. "Better be a bloody emergency... Especially with these alarms going off." She walked into the cargo bay, wing feathers literally ruffled in annoyance. "What's the bloody problem?"
-
Skye frowned, She had been flirting with some male Rabbit in the Rec area. She headed down to the hangar, still a bit aggravated. When she arrived she heard Luci ask what was up and stood by waiting for an answer, gritting her teeth so she wouldn't speak up. Luci might be able to get away with the disrespect, but Skye certainly wouldn't push it.
-
"Aye captain this is strange... I thought this was just some temporal time field or a portal." Mendel states his confident voice wavering. "Correct me if I am wrong. But were we not just targeted? By the field." / couldn't be a living organism.... maybe it's just message coming from the lost ship./ he steps closer to the captain "sir... might be a long shot but that... felt like a short wave pulse burst with a weak magnetic pulse... perhaps it's the other ship trying to communicate." He said trying not to sound too crazy.
-
"None of you are supposed to know this, but their ship got destroyed. They took it into the temporal rift where it got torn apart. We're not sure if the rift is the cause, but i'm not taking any chances with our bucket o' bolts." Jack walked over to the suits and entered the unlock code on the keypad. "Everybody suit up, just run the quick diagnostic check just to make sure there are not any leaks or tears." The suits were a bland grey colour, almost that of wet cement, and they were unusually large. However as Captain Quintus put his on one could notice it form to his shape almost as if it was tailored specifically for him. "Aaaand diagnostics says this suit is fine."
-
"ONLY THE BASICS? Are you out of your mind? The full diagnostic procedure is there for a reason, and we are going into an unknown situation, us jumping in hurriedly won't change a thing" she frowned at the hideous grey color.
-
"I want to get my ship a safe distance from that thing, you will run only the basics or i will find you in insubordination and have you placed in the brig! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!?" It was slightly apparent that Jack was afraid of this anomaly, but it was unclear as to why. "Besides they have been in that rift for weeks with no protection from it's effects, we need to get them as soon as possible to prevent any further harm from befalling them."
-
(I'd assume that since they're custom suits, Luci's will have something for her wings...)
Luci calmly slipped into her suit and carefully put her wings into their slots, omnipresent scowl on her face. She put the helmet on and locked it in place, then ran the diagnostic. "Mine's fine."
-
(Not necessarily custom. More of they scan your body shape and the form fit)
"Good now help me tether this cable. This cable will act as our trail of bread crumbs when we need to return to the ship." Jack began dragging said cable over to an anchor point in the cargo bay.
-
"You never did tell me why me and not the old man" she put her suit on begrudgingly running the basic diagnostics, admiring the way the ugly suit cinched it's self around her form, wishing she had a mirror to look in.
-
Mendel pulled the suit on the rest of the way and watched as the fabric stretched shrank and tightened around his body like a glove. Especially in his hands. / huh adaptive memory fabric...thought they gave up on that years ago./ " if they are in there sir we will get them out. In one piece if we can. " he said kneeling down to attach the cable. He then turned to the captain whispering. "If something happens or the ship is in jeopardy... do not hesitate " he then turned to the others watching them get dress. His eyes veered to Skye as he looks up and down her/his body. /not too shabby/ he thought to himself as he gave her a wink.
(Is his suit ship shape?)

(Hello what the heck guys not a single post in two weeks. Get posting I know you all check periodically.)
-
(Dude... Calm yourself and don't presume to give orders. Colonel runs this thread, not you. It's him we're waiting on.)
-
)Then join me and bug him. I am not giving orders. I m simply ask everyone keep doing what they agreed to when we joined the rp. And excuse me for being annoyed and impatient when colonel said he would post almost a week ago. This is always how Rps stop everyone buggars off before we even get through a chapters worth. Back when I started rps in high school they took the story and progression there of seriously. Reps easily had 25 pages in a month. And would often times reaching into the 70s.)
( look I don't want to insult anyone. I just want the rps to continue and I see no one posting. On anything in role playing!
-
