Forum not making links right
« on: December 23, 2007, 05:11:11 pm »
I tried to make a post a bit ago and used the "HTTP" button to create links to a couple of pics for people to click that were hosted on my personal site www.thefoxydj.com.  When I link to my site, the Furtopia board changes the web address to "http://cgi.furtopia.org/cgi-bin/ib311/www.thefoxydj.com/*whatever I'm making the link to*  The web page title part is left alone, so it reads right in the post.  But when you click on it, it tries to pull from the furtopian server.  The odd thing is when you mouse over the link in the post preview, it shows the wrong link, but in the post box it looks normal.  It hasn't done this when trying to link to any other sites that I know of, and I don't think it used to do this to mine either.

Did you include "http://" at the beginning?  (It sounds like you typoed somewhere)

Yip, that did it.  I never paid attention to that before and didn't know I needed the http prefix.  Thanks. '<img'>

You don't always need it, per se, but it lets the browser know, for certain, that it's the full URL and not a relative one.
