Thanks, but the real point was the fact that I was going somewhere I hadn't been before. To get out of the house and see more of the state. I've been to Florida, and through Louisianna, Georgia and other states going in that direction, lol. I've passed through Nashville, Tenn and seen a few nice bus stops here and there lol. It's about going somewhere different for me.

BTW, Texarkana has really bad traffic these days, you don't wanna drive those roads. Its getting to be as bad as Houston with all the new roads they're putting in.

The "a" isn't so drawn out Shim, but thats pretty much it.

The easierest way to remember it is that at no point whatsoever does any part of my name rhyme with the word "halo"

I see folks mis-spelling it saying(writing) Kaylo and I just have to facepalm. There is no "y" after the first "a".

Kal-O-yan Al-et.

"Ka" -as in KAngaroo
"Lo" -like LOw bridge
"Yan" -as in yin and YANg

Of course this is all a fairly minor complaint. It just irks me a little to see my name mis-spelled and mis-pronounced. Call it a pet peeve. I love my fursona name and I take pride in it. I'd be like hearing someone mis-pronounce America as A-mer-I-ca or if your state name were mis-pronounced badly.

The thing it reminds me of the most is an episode of "Star Trek: TNG" where the new doctor on board kept saying Data's name wrong. She used the other pronounciation of data, with the long "a" and he didn't like it. She asked him what the difference was and he said "One is my name, the other is other is not."
Of course her pronounciation was due more out of her not recognising Data as alive because he was an android. Though it still reminds me of the scene. :D :D :D

I drew out the a to emphasize a NOT ay.

-sighs-..Kaloyan..

It pains me to have to ask it like this.  "Like how a person from chicaaaaaaaaaago would say it?"  Like Shallow, right?

I would love to know how to pronounce the name of the only other shroud in existance  :-[

I don't know how flok from chicago speak but I think you have it right Shim. My nickname "Kalo" rhymes with "Shallow" once you know that part the rest should fall into place easily. :)

Your name is pronounced the same as shin right? only with an "M" not an "N"?

HA HA HA! :D

Oh man. I always suspected but I just confirmed it.

I've been mispronouncing the name all along. I got my name from a random name generator see, so I had no pronunciation made out for me. I just pronounced it how I thought it was done.

Yet I looked up pronunciantions of the name and found this: http://women.evenhealth.com/cgi-bin/showname.cgi?q=Kaloyan

Yes it seems I've been mis-pronouncing the name all along, something I suspected when I found out it was Bulgarian in origin.

Still The way I've been pronouncing it is the way I've come to identify myself as, it seems a bit wrong to suddenly start saying it differently. I suppose at the least though it means I'll have to stop being so annoyed at others not using my pronunciation. Who am I to say my way is right when I know full well it isn't? :D :D :D

The pronunciation on that page you linked to is always how I read it, until the first time I saw you spell out how you pronounced it. Admittedly, I have maybe a 75% success rate of still reading it your way, rather than the other way. But I've never read it as rhyming with 'halo' at least.

Oh, I just realized I was supposed to tell everyone about this, not just the other staff members. 8)

I've been texting with Kalo, and he says he's workin' hard and is very close to getting himself back online and on Furtopia again!

Our favorite shroud is almost home! (:

Thanks everyone. I would like to make a note here that I have recently bought my very first tail!  I've worn it proudly while going out and about and the reactions from folks have been rather predictable. :D
