Animes you thought and/or heard were going to be really bad but were good?

Lengthy title is lengthy.

This thread is all about those animes everyone seemed to get bad feelings about, but they ended up being at least half decent?

Final Fantasy Unlimited was ok despite my own personal feelings coupled with naysaying from one Shim.
Tower of Druaga got good once I got past the stupidity of the first episode and actually got to the plot.

Not too many, but one was Cowboy Bebop,
I first caught it on adult swim, and between the name and the opening, I thought that it was going to be some really pretentious crap,
Although I usually give a show an episode or two before I make any decisions, and as I’m sure many know, it’s actually a very good series.

A lot of my friends said Code Geass was bad, but I watched the whole series and found it quite good.

Well i saw an anime called tactics and thought it was about war but its about monsters demons fox and crow people
