Title: 2012 New Year predictions?
Post by: Kobuk on December 24, 2011, 09:58:43 pm
What are everyone's thoughts and opinions for predictions for 2012?
Sports
Economy
Politics
Religion
World events
Entertainment
......etc., etc., etc.

I don't know about anybody else, but I have a slight feeling there will be a conflict with Iran.  x_x

I'm thinking NK will try to enforce some BEST KOREA STRONG onto South Korea, which might start a small flashpoint engagement, like the two had been having during the Cold War.

I can see that 2012 will see many anniversaries (!). And here's just some of them:

1. Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II (as of 2012, The Queen would've been on the throne for 60 years).
2. Centenary (100th Anniversary) of Titanic's maiden voyage.
3. 90th Anniversary of the BBC.

Gasoline will again top $4.00 per gallon.
Red Green and FCN will be in close proximity to each other. Only one will involve a 'possum.

POTUS will play his 100th round of golf.

As far as I'm concerned, this 'end of the world' business is a load of rubbish! Think of War of the Worlds. When that was transmitted onto radio in the '30s, that scared everybody because that made them think that the world was going to end but really, it didn't. As for the Millennium Bug, that, too, made people think that the world was going to end but again, it really didn't. So if you ask me...
THE WORLD WON'T REALLY END FOR BILLIONS OF YEARS!
End of story!

Germany will place highly at the Olympics, Obama will barely manage to hang on to the presidency, The Dark Knight Rises and The Hobbit will make lods of emone, the New York Rangers will win the Winter Classic, the Penguins will make it to the Eastern Conference finals (at least), and there'll be some sort of  conflict in Korea, or one will be narrowly evaded.

Oh, and the world will remain, you know, there.

There will be horrible movies based on video games and board games and remakes.
There will be bad video games released for all consoles.
A few tv series will be taken off the air and the fanboys of those shows will be upset and demand to have it on DVD
There will be war.
There will be attacks.
It will be difficult to buy what you need.
The world will not end but just maybe humanity will.
The Skyrim "arrow to the knee" meme needs to be replaced by the courier going "Nope. Sorry, nothing."

I think it's hard not to be gloomy about 2012..hm. =| I mean, as far as political and econom..ical (yay, spelt correctly..) things go, things seem...a bit bubbling over. hm. not that I know much about ecnomics and politics.

I'm wondering how the olympics will turn out, though...but I'm not in London, so...I guess it doesn't matter much.

Erm...if the olympics turn out so bad that everyone jumps off a cliff in despair, and that turns out to be the 2012 'doom galore'...thing, then...pigs can fly. hm. =/

And that the day after Friday is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards ;)

History Channel made 2012 a gloomy year...I'm already looking forward to 2013 :P

Say no more! It's no wonder my Dad says that the (British) economy now is more like the way it was in the 1930s than the 1990s.

Am I desperate enough to believe all that rubbish!? To start with, think of War of the Worlds. When that was transmitted onto radio in the 1930s, that scared everybody because that made them think that the end of the world was imminent but really, the world didn't end at all. Come the Millennium Bug theory about 60 years later, that, too, made people think that the end of the world was imminent but the world still didn't end. So if you ask me, 11 months is just too sudden for the world to end. In other words, I think that people who think that the world would end so suddenly, as opposed to it ending billions of years down the line, are idiots (no offence intended).

zombies are a real possibility the government spends so much time toiling with biological weapons and dna is so hard to think that they created a virus that is close to the zombie virus. they could be the traditional zombie all slow walking and what not or they could be the biologically advanced zombies that run and sprint at you.(sorry to get off topic)
