Title: Aurora's Light(IC)
Post by: SkyFire on June 23, 2014, 12:57:45 am
They stole her from me. They took from us what we valued more than our own lives. They desecrated our sacred fortress, believed to be unbreachable, and seized her. There had been now warning. There had been no demand. There had only been a raid that took from us what we held dearest to our hearts before we knew what had happened. Now they will pay. Their blood will water the ground upon which they tread for millennium to come! They will feel the wrath that they incurred, and they will die! Slowly, painfully, agonizingly, piece by bloody piece... We will rip their soul asunder, they will not have an afterlife, no hell is bad enough for them! They shall be utterly obliterated from the cosmos, nothing will be left in all the mega verse of them!!! SO SHALL BE THE FATE OF THOSE WHO STOLE MY DAUGHTER FROM ME!!! ~Bloodsworn oath made by Justin Silva following the kidnapping of Aurora Silva.

Justo stood up from his throne in the grand throne room of the castle, his voice booming throughout the massive chamber as he slammed the butt of the ceremonial spear of Molten Core down upon the stone floor, sending a boom reverberating through the grand throne room. "SILENCE!! COME FORTH AND SPEAK, YOU WHO HAVE ANSWERED MY CALL FOR CHAMPIONS!" He called, looking down at the group before the steps up to the dais where the three thrones were. "Make yourselves known to us, where you hail from, and why you have come. Do not lie." He said softer, in a still clearly heard voice. "One at a time." He finished, remaining standing to study each champion as they came forth.

Prowl remained seated next to where Justin was, in full battle dress. She hadn't yet come down from the bloodlust from nearly a week ago. Her body was still set for a fight, the slightest things testing her patience, such as this introduction of all of the warriors. She knew it was vital to know who each was, but she was still on edge, and ready to tear someone apart; this was not to hard to see from the expression on her face.

--------------meanwhile, in the Veran Empire capital-------------

"My friends and allies..." Empress Rhine practically purred, her voice velvet. "I am so glad you could make it to this war council. You see, I have, after extensive planning, set into motion certain events. Events which have the potential to change this world forever; to change it in our favor. However, I cannot, I'm sad to admit, continue these events on my own. At some point, I am going to need the help of each of you, my closest allies... I would rather not wait until the need for aide is dire. So, I have asked you all here now... Together, we can overrun the War Wolves and their allies. So let me ask you... Are you with me?" She signaled behind her back to her guards. Anyone who turned down helping her would likely not be allowed to leave; instead, they'd be locked in the dungeon until they changed their minds.

Cortney opened his eyes. The sounds of drunken revelry filled his ears. His eyes sting as smoke began to fill them. He looked down at the table. 'Pocket Aces' He thought to himself. He looked around at the other players partaking in this game. Shifty no good thieves down to the core, but there was no better people to play poker with. The center of the table had gold coins and jewels, everybody eyeing them as they walked by. Bets were made and cards were dealt, Cortney came out on top, four-of-a-kind. He began to pocket his winnings as everybody grumbled and swore. "Thank ye kindly gents. A round for these fine fellows!" He was met with cheers as he left. Once outside he took in a deep breath, salty air filling his lungs, it may not have been his port, but any port was home to him. He walked down the docks a ways and passed off his winnings to his crew. "We cast off soon so ready the crew"

One of the shapes in the throne room stepped forwards, a beggar in a ragged cloak that covered his face, it completely ignored Justin for the time being "Prowl...it's been awhile, you seem to be doing well for yourself"

(Bad move, friend... Sky, I would suggest holding her back...)

Prowl jumped to her feet, her blade in her hand before she was even up completely. She moved slowly toward the beggar, her sword shaking almost invisibly. "You're wasting my time, fool."

As cortney went to his ship, a swift war galleon of one of the pirate lords pulled in. "Ahoy captain! Ye king be Callin' a Council O' Captains in da main hall!" The captain of the ship called out to cortney as they pulled in and hastily moored. Already the other captains and some of their crew were headed up the main road to the fort, where the current pirate king of verrafirm resided. It rotated every two years between the seven pirate isles.

Justin quickly intervened. "Guards!" He called, as he quickly moved to place himself directly in prowl's path. "Prowl! Not now!" He said desperately, trying to reason with her as four guards surrounded the appearent beggar, for his own protection more than anything else as they began to move him away from the throne dais. "Please, prowl, listen to me." Justin begged, now entering a defensive stance with the spear as his weapon.

Prowl stopped, glancing between the beggar and Justin. After a moment, she turned away. "Our daughter is gone and this fool is trying to make conversation. I just... I snapped I guess..." She sheathed her blade and sighed. She returned to her throne, closing her eyes and focusing on her breathing to calm herself.

Cortney silently nodded waved in acknowledgment. He thought to himself as he walked. 'Time again already, I swear if anything happens that puts my crew or myself in jeopardy, hell even if it threatens our livelihood I may just turn to privateering.' He took a deep breath before entering the congregation of pirates

"Is that anyway to greet' he pulled back his hood "a childhood friend? I didn't come here for king Justin, I didn't come here for molten core" he pulled off the ratty cloak revealing his clothing "I didn't even come here for queen Prowl" he smiled "I came for the only person who made me second guess faking my death, my best friend, i'm pleased to make your acquaintance king Justin, My name is Jacoby Quinn, but you can call me Jaggerjack"

Prowl's eyes popped open, and she studied him for a moment. She stood and walked up to him, then circled him a couple times, checking his scent against her memories. "You're dead." She said after a moment. "Or you were..." She almost smiled, and were the circumstances not what they were, she would have. "It's good to see you..."

"Prowl, I was fooling and outrunning guards at the age of twelve, you really think I couldn't fake my death?" he chuckled "it's good to see you, i'd ask how you are doing, but if the answer were as I wished I'd still be dead,so the real question is...what can I do to help?"

Blades stood up and began to walk up with a bode of confidence, Leilani standing right next to him. She seemed a bit apprehensive but she was willing to go with her big brother and help as she could. Blades kneeled over, bowing as a sign of respect for Prowl and Justin till they were called upon.

Blades stood up at Prowl's command, standing straight and with pride. "Blades of military house Tavare...me and my sister here hail from Icegate, devouts of Silna. I stand ready to fight, Queen Prowl."

Leilani stood after he'd finished "I'm Leilani Rosario, Blades' sister by marriage. I may not be skilled as my brother with weapons but for my age i'm pretty skilled in magic. Where he goes, I will also. Honor and Courage, as is the Tavare creed.

Justin relaxed his stance and turned to Jaggerjack, sighing in relief with a benevolent look on his face. "Go with prowl to one of the castle solars, I'll be with you shortly. You two have some catching up to do." He said, and turned to prowl. "Go with him, my love. You need to. I haven't seen you even look remotely happy, since this began, and he almost made you smile. Go, I'll handle these." He begged her quietly, before turning to Blades and Leilani. "Rise, you whom seek to be our champions, and make yourselves known to my court." Justin commanded them, as the audience of dukes, earls, barons, lords, counts and countesses, as well as other important knights and nobles, entered the hall. They stood on either side of the great central gold trimmed blue velvet carpet that led to the dais upon which Justin stood.

Aurora snarled at the guards taking her from her room. "Lemme go! I'm not some stupid trophy for you to show off!!" she said, kicking, biting, and doing anything else she could to physically cause the armored guards harm.

Lord Titus Adran the 2nd looked at the empress, albeit disdainfully. "Pray tell, why would a kingdom such as mine risk it's vast fortunes of your resource starved pitiful excuse of an empire?" He asked, as others around the table nodded. Why should they support the Veran Empire?

The big great hall of the fort was already full of shouting pirates with a few of their crew, almost ready to boil over into a fight, if their weapons weren't collected as the entered the fort. "Why are we here??" "The king said so!" "Off with his head!!" "By hell's anvil you will!!" "Death to rigarum bartoni!!" "Death to Garand Sylvuim!!" The shouting match escalated from there until a well dressed figure in an ornate captain's hat over some expensive robes entered. "King on deck!" "Sah!" All the pirates said, and saluted. "Quiet now, we all can make some pretty coin off O' this meeting. The Molten Core king wants help to find 'is daughter, and the Veran Empress wants help to attack molten core." The pirate king said, and paused. "Both of 'em are promising rewards, so I says send a ship to molten core and a couple to Veran!" He said, and then elaborated with a grin. "BOTH O' DEM'S GOLD FOR US ALL!!"

Prowl simply nodded and started out of the room, motioning for Jaggerjack to follow. "I need to get out of there anyways... Before I kill someone."

"Because, Titus..." Diana said, purposefully using his name without his title, though her voice was still silk. "Several reasons... The first is that I have in my possession elite armor from each of the kingdoms represented at this table. My armies are on their way to Molten Core as we speak, several platoons wearing the afore-mentioned armor. If you don't ally with my empire, they will still believe you are... Do you see where I'm going with this, Titus? Another reason is this..."

One of the guards laughed. "She's feisty, this one." The other chuckled and clamped a muzzle on her while the first latched cuffs on her. They led he into the meeting room where Enpress Rhine and her "allies" were, her clothing making it quickly apparent who she was.

Titus's eyes hardened as she used his name without his title, and a retort was forming in his mind as she carried on. his lips parted to draw breath for the retort before he gasped in shock as Aurora was brought in. Several others at the table gasped as well, while most simply stared in shock and awe at her. "By wersalis's black scythe!!" he exclaimed in disbelief. "Is that?...."

Aurora still struggled as she was brought in the room, but halted most over her efforts for the most part, trying to identify the various leaders around the table. she relaxed herself, to get the guards off guard, and then suddenly threw all of her weight forward to pull away.

Justin looked down at blades and leilani. He nodded, and sighed. "Your reasons are clear, you've acted with proper protocol in your addressing me, and you've not faltered in your resolve to journey this far. Come, son and daughter of house Tavare of Icegate, follow me. I wish to speak with you of news from the great Icegate Citadel." he said, and turned around, heading down the dais to the hallway right behind the three thrones, flanked by six of the Phoenix Guard, just as prowl was surrounded by six of the war wolf elite.

Bernard let out a yawn as he leaned against the side of the ship, peering pensively down at the water playing across the ships hull below. He looked tired, if not a little ill, in a very baggy linen shirt, and some yellow buckskin breeches, with riding boots.

He let out a groan as the ship heaved, and gripped the side of it quickly.

"Master Bernard!....Sir!....Sir!" Came a loud and overly enthusiastic voice from behind him, partnered by the sound of boots running across the deck, he almost certainly knew this voice as it made him close his eyes and cringe in response. "...Yes...Tarquin?"  Bernard said in a drawling and bored voice as he turned himself slowly to face the very out of breath young fox, carrying what looked to be a piece of paper and a small bottle. He was very well dressed in fine clothes, yet looked as scruffy furred and grubby as any one of the sailors.

The fox opened the note catching his breath as he did so, "The rudder man asked me to inform you that we're on course, if not ahead of schedule, he also says that the wind is headed side on, which is why there's so much bucking, but he says that these are dangerous waters so we need to take this route to stay out of the hot spots......sorry....also! The ships physician says to drink this!" He said this all very quickly, which took Bernard some effort to take in.

The ursine took the bottle curious to inspect it, and give it a rather discontented sniff.

"Thank you Tarquin" he said in the same unamused voice, with a tone as if to say, go away now, and a wave of his paw, before letting his head rest on the side of the ship with a long groan. "I hate sea travel" he muttered to himself.

Diana simply nodded and caught Aurora by her cuffs, using her powers. "It is." She Lifted Aurora by her cuds so she couldn't struggle again, and dismissed the guards wih a wave. "Now, Titus, tell me where you stand."

Prowl shook her head. "Some other time, I might have... Now, though..."

Aurora stopped struggling and simply hung there in mid-air, angry at being stolen, angry at being helpless, and angry everything in general. silent tears made their way down the side of her muzzle, and she closed her eyes, trying to pull herself together and not show weakness before Diana. 'I am a war wolf, I am strong, I am untouchable, I am a war wolf, I am strong, I am untouchable...' she mentally repeated the mantra to herself in her head as she tried to pull herself together.

Titus stood and placed his right paw over his heart, curled into a fist, the sunstar salute. "Milady, what do you require of my humble kingdom?" he asked, looking at Diana, as he pledged his allegiance to her. If she could snatch the very daughter of justin and prowl, then she could do anything. the other leaders at the table rose and saluted her in their own kingdom's way, pledging their allegiance.

The War Wolf Elite lieutenant in charge of prowl's detail paused for a moment and turned to face them "Milady, since the incident, you must be accompanied by at least six of the elite at all times, and should you ever be alone, those who were suppose to be with you are to be executed on sight, regardless of their excuse. Your safety is now more important than all else."

"Good... Good..." Diana muttered, plans forming in her mind. "Lord Titus, I want you and (insert name of another leader here.) to gather your forces and focus them on Icegate. Maldir, you and(insert another leader's name here) gather your forces and focus them on Molten core. "Everyone else, you're with me, taking down the kingdom of Lupirnen; the ones who tried to claim my empire." Aurora floated down to the floor and two of the guards stepped forward and took her, their red armor shining in the torch light. The guards started escorting her back to her chamber, only to be interrupted by a Mage. "Take her to my office, Empress' orders..."

Prowl rolled her eyes. "Lieutenant... You know as well as my husband does, I am very capable of protecting myself... And you both know I hold as much power over you as he does... If I so wanted, I could redact his order."

Blades and Leilani followed Justin through the hallway. "Just stay close to me Leilani, this will be dangerous regardless of where in the ranks we are." Leilani simply nodded. He redirected his attention to Justin "What news from Icegate?"

Aurora glared at the Mage in hatred, now composed again, and directing her anger at her captors once more. "As you wish milady." Titus replied, turning to leave and prepare his nation's armies for war. He paused, before turning to face the empress again. "Milady, what of high ridge and Avalon? They will surely come to Molten Core's aid as quick as they can." He asked, returning to his seat, mentally cursing himself for not thinking of this earlier.

Justin led them to his office and sat behind his large desk, gesturing for them to take seats before him as the six Phoenix guard were joined by four more. "I have not received word from their embassy in some time, I was going to ask you for some news from icegate. Is your leadership currently simply too busy in other diplomatic affairs to bother with detailed reports now and then?" He asked, as a pair of servants came in, one with a tray of fine cordials and the other with a tray of fine sweet pastries.

The lookout of Bernard's Ship spotted sails in the distance, closing at speed twice as fast as they were making. The ship was flying the colors of an imperial ambassador, from the Phoenix Empire(Molten Core's official name). The ship was at least three decks and had a forecastle and rear castle that were a deck above the ship's middle. She had three mainmasts with a fore and mizzenmast, with sails trimmed in blue and silver, the coat of arms emblazoned on each one. Her hull was made from ironwood and had silver and mithril plating with blue steel armor and several ballista ports on each side, though she no doubt carried a group of mages that were her primary ship killers. She flew a flag of truce and goodwill as she drew near.

Bernard heard the lookout's shouts and pulled out his telescope and extended it, still looking quite ill. He inspected the ship through the spyglass for a few moments, pulling it away with a slight grin, "Now THAT's a ship!" He shouted to the rudder man, who responded by shooting him a rather unhappy glare.

Bernard hurried to make himself somewhat presentable, ran to collect his hat and his jacket, and buttoned his shirt, looking a little full of himself if not a little nervous too.

"Tarquin!" He shouted, "Go get some of that coffee! The good one I brought back from that expedition on one of father's southbound ships!........And be quick damn it!"

The ursine then ordered the ship to be slowed, and waited patiently.

The massive Galleon pulled alongside Bernard's ship, and slowed, her mages casting spells to hold it alongside at a steady pace to match the smaller ship's motion and speed on the waves. her first mate appeared at the ship's rail and called down to bernard, "Permission for the Knight-Duke Adrian, Imperial Ambassador of the Phoenix Empire, To come Aboard your Vessel?" he called, in a loud voice heard clearly on the waves. Simply from what Bernard could make out, these were the real deal. the first mate was clad in blue-steel plate, with a blue cloak behind him and a longsword at his waist. The imperial seal was clearly visible on his breastplate.

Cortney slinked out of the meeting and managed to 'find' a few new swords and daggers. "This is going to come back to bite them in the arse, but I don't mind feeding off their coin." Cortney hurriedly made his way to his ship. Giving out a few of the weapons he 'found' to his crew. "Alright, Crew I haven't decided where we are going with this, but first we'll see where the coin is best!" His crew let out a cheer and they soon set sail, the port grew smaller the further they got. Cortney let out a sigh and turned his attention to the helm as the waves licked the sides of his ship, The Crimson Lance

(Um Wht... 7 years would still be after Aurora was born... You made it seem like he faked his death before that...)

"I'm sorry child..." The Mage said in his office, after he had dismissed the guards. "I truly am... But Empress Rhine has her hands in everything, my family included... If I don't do what she says..." He sighed and shook his head. "If I remove your restraints, will you run? I have to run some simple tests; they won't hurt..."

"Good point." Diana said. "Change of plans; the men I have en route to Molten Core will be rerouted to Icegate, along with everyone else's troops. It is the only thing between us and Lupirnen, from which we can push inland toward Molten core. Our combined forces should have no problem taking Icegate, then Lupirnen. The trouble will occur on the way to Molten core... We will have to cross the desert. I will meet you on the edge of the desert itself to strategize." She thought for a moment and nodded. She had decided on his usefulness and made a strange motion with her hand; one he wouldn't recognize. She was laying the first layer of a complex lust magic; reinforcing her control over him. "I'll see you then, Lord..." She turned and walked away, exaggerating swaying her hips to reinforce her magic layer. "I must find a Mage."

(Sorry, I've been job hunting :/)

Tarquin appeared from below just as quickly as he'd left, staying away from Bernard for fear or a beating.

"Yes! Of course!" Bernard shouts, looking back at the rudderman a little awkwardly, "Although....It's not quite my ship! Come down anyhow, I have refreshments, although may i ask what sir wishes to speak about!?"

He walks quickly over to the edge and looks over, before shooting the crew a hurried look as they began to carry over the boarding ramps and mooring ropes.

(Alrighty, many apologies for the delay.)

As the crew of Bernard's ship made ready the boarding ramps and mooring ropes, Bernard heard a peculiar sound, and looked up to see a figure jump off the yardarm of the topsail on the mainmast of the galleon, gracefully summersaulting head over tail before landing on his feet before Bernard, lightly. The fox bowed before Bernard once, removing his distinctive admiral's hat, with a blue feather in it, as he straightened up before the bear and held out his paw. "The Knight-Duke Adrian, at your service." He said with a flourish, smiling warmly at the bear. He was dressed more like a warrior than a knight, wearing a white leather breastplate and bracers, with white leather boots, all trimmed in blue, with an under-layer of mithril chain, and a white cloak. The cloak and tabard bore the royal standard of Molten Core, a Phoenix perched atop a snow-topped mountain, within a circle. Adrain had an air of informality and energy about him, though there was an unmistakable aura of command behind it.

Aurora simply glared at the mage beyond the muzzle on her, eyes seeming to speak for her. "What would I have to gain by running?" They asked, as she sighed through her nose and looked down, shaking her head no.

Titus fell for her magic, not realizing what it was, nor suspecting a thing. "Yes milady, as you command." He replied, her magic already working on him as he added, "I'll see you at the desert.", before he left the room after she did.

"Good." Justin replied, looking dead serious as he replied. "It's one thing to fight for a cause, another to fight for money, but there is nothing like fighting for revenge. No fire burns hotter, no weapon is forged better, nothing motivates as good as the inferno of revenge. Keep it burning and you can overcome all challenges that you face." He answered, leaning back in his chair. "Now, tell me of icegate, I haven't heard from them in awhile, so start with how well you think the country is prepared to defend against attack?"

The sailing went smooth and fast for the crimson lance as she made her way towards the coastline of the boiling sea, named for its hot waters along the coast of Molten Core.(will work you into bear's segment next post)

Prowl put her full force into her arm as Jaggerjack finished counting down, attempting to catch him off guard, but knowing she would likely not.

"Good." The Mage said, taking the muzzle off of Aurora, followed by the cuffs. "Now... Have a seat, please..." He went about the room collecting various strange items, from crystals to strange brass instruments, and placing them on his desk.

"Morons..." Diana muttered once she was outside the room. "It's a shame this spell requires me to sleep with him to set the final layer." She sighed and went off in search of one of the many mages under her command.
(Aaaaand... Diana Rhine goes to the background for now.)

Before they could answer Justin, an otter clad in the armor of an Icegate scout burst through the door, his once shiny armor coated in blood. "Verans!" He managed to cry before collapsing.

(This would indicate Icegate has fallen and Tara, the queen, has either been captured or killed. What he has not yet mentioned, because he doesn't know, is that they split off of his ship's tail and went straight to Lupirnen.)

Blades nodded "I've been told otherwise...but I feel it does fuel me." he paused for a moment "As for Icegate, i'd say defenses are...decent but I wouldn't wanna push our luck...i'd advise..." was all Blades spat out before the guard came bearing the news of Icegate. Both Blades and Leilani's eyes widened.

Leilani looked down in sadness "Papa...no."

Blades' jaw hung open in shock "Queen Tara! Mother!" He flicked his head back towards Justin "King Justin...We need to get to Icegate and do some damage control!"

Justin rose from his chair as three of his gaurds rushed to see if their healing could work on him. The fire of life magicks were the best healing in the land, but if one was not strong enough to withstand the flame's healing, it would consume them and at the very least, heal their spirit before it gave them a peaceful passing, if the wound was serious enough. The Phoenix King, Imperial Lord of Fire, The Hand of Flame, has had enough. He slammed his hands on the desktop the cracked the solid obsidian. "ENOUGH OF THIS!!!" He bellowed, in a voice that was like a raging inferno, or the thunderous eruption of a volcano. Justin's eyes were literally balls of fire burning red with rage, as he continued, "LIGHT THE BEACON AND READY THE GUARD, SOUND THE CALL AND ALERT MY CITY!!! HELL'S OWN GATES HAVE BEEN OPENED!!! MAKE READY TO MARCH FOR BATTLE, FOR NOW THIS KINGDOM IS AT WAR!!! EVERY MAN, WOMEN AND CHILD OLD ENOUGH AND CAPABLE OF BEARING ARMS SHALL DON OUR KINGDOM'S FINEST ARMOR AND SHARPEN THE BLADES THAT WILL SEND OUR ENEMIES' VERY SOULS TO THE GATES OF HELL AND THE ABYSS!!! WE ARE AT TOTAL WAR!!!!" Justin's call to arms reverberated loudly throughout the lower levels of the grand keep, echoing in the throne room and great hall. The sentries heard it clearly and a massive column of fire shot from the grand tower, a huge pyre that was brighter than the sun itself, it's orange and red hue turning the night to day for miles around and dusk to dawn as well. Armored soldiers rode through every quarter of the city, shouting out the call to arms, as the great horns atop the city's gatehouse were blown, sending a low, vibrating call, all throughout the surrounding countryside. Justin, his call to arms sounded, looked down to the icegate scout and asked, in a normal voice, "Is he alive?"

Prowl grabbed the first soldier to come by, catching him by the pauldrons and holding firm. "What's going on? I want as many details as you can give me, now." Right now, she wasn't queen Prowl, she was soldier and commander Prowl; someone not to be messed with.

The otter scout's breathing was extremely ragged, and he had a weak pulse, but he was still alive... Somewhat.

The soldier kept calm and responded in an even tone, "Justin has put out a call for all arms and an immediate preparation for a march to battle, as well as instituting a show no mercy and give no quarter policy as well. I do not know why he issued it just now, but milady, you alone cannot halt this. Only the full court can and only by voting in 4/5ths majority could they depose him, and well, 15/16 are with him. Excuse me, my battalion is forming up at the gate." The soldier informed prowl before scurrying off.

Justin sighed, and gestured to the scout. "Him. Get him to the infirmary and then form up at the imperial gate." He ordered his gaurds before turning to blades and Leilani, "I was asking about the scout. Come with me, and put on your heaviest and most ceremonial armor. We will change to battle dress in the field." He told them, and turned around to concentrate on making a ball of fire before launching it against the back wall. When it hit, a shimmering portal to the royal family personal armory, wreathed in flames, appeared. "Come now, lets get you proper Phoenix Armor..." Justin said, beckoning to them as he stepped through.

Prowl nodded slowly, even though the soldier had just left. "To war it is then... Jaggerjack, I think I know how you can help... Follow me." She started off in the direction Justin had left in earlier, only glancing back once to see if Jaggerjack was following.

"Don't worry... There will be something much more... Specialized later, I'm sure." She stopped outside of one of the several personal armories her family had access to and placed her hand against the smooth steel door. It clicked and slid inward, revealing a rather large room full of weapons and armor, though knowing Prowl, the size was no surprise. "Help yourself. I have something to check on..." She walked to the back of the room and once again placed her hand, though this time it was flat on a wall. After a moment, the wall seemed to fade and reveal a beautifully wrought short sword. It's blade was black and had an oilspill type quality to its shine, the crossguard was delicately engraved silver, as was the pommel which had an onyx set into it, and the handle was wrapped in black leather. The blade had the name "Daern" written in silver fillgery along it, and it was likewise written on the scabbard which hung beside it. The word was an Ancient War Wolf word for death. Prowl carefully took it and slid it into the sheath, then belted it on I the place of her more ornamental blade which she placed into the alcove Daern had come from. The sword itself seemed to darken the area immediate to it, and the room had become slightly, but noticably colder when it had been revealed.

"Anyone above the age of fourteen can bear arms in my kingdom, and anyone who is willing to serve at that age joins my armies. Granted, we do try to keep them in units of similarly aged soldiers and away from the front lines, but they do plenty of fighting like any soldier, and we provide their armor. It will be a piece of cake to outfit you." Justin replied, as they entered the vaulted armory. It was large, with rows of weapons racks forming aisles down the length of the middle open floor, and alcoves of Phoenix armor of almost every size and type available. Down at the far end was an alcove that was actually a large circular room full of Justin's own armors and weapons. He turned to look at blades and Leilani. "Anything in this vault, you may take. Anything enchanted that you take needs to he brought to me so I can tell you how to use it safely. Some of the weapons here have the power or potential to wipe out entire cities. Others could annihilate entire kingdoms if misused. Only my magic works here, and nothing can breach these walls save the full concentrated power of the gods who helped me build it. Be careful, but feel free to take any armor or weapon you desire."(of course, don't expect to be able to find the weapons of power he mentions...) justin told them, before gesturing at an alcove halfway down. "Blades, armor for you is probably there, Leilani, come with me and I'll personally help you get out fitted. As for you, blades, I would assume you know the significance of where you are and not betray my trust in sending you alone." The Phoenix Lord said, eyeing blades with slight approval as he spoke, before turning to Leilani and heading to a closer alcove.

(When you search for a weapon, tell me what type, and I'll post a description of it. Be specific, name what type of sword, tell me as to whether its a mace or a Morningstar you seek, flail or bolla, long bow or shortbow, composite or recurve, etc etc etc. you get the picture.)

Now, the lightest armor I have in here is War Wolf Elite..." She gestured to a heavy plate suit, mad of tungsten over leather. The plates were probably 1/4" thick at points... Not light.

Bernard forced himself to hold back a slight sneer as the well dressed vulpine hit the deck softly afore him. The bear looked the Knight Duke up and down, inspecting his garments and armour with a very well maintained, yet forced smile. "Peculiar trick there, I'm surprised you didn't break a leg, magic?" He said and asked with a short laugh at the end of the sentence. Bernard gripped his paws together tightly behind his back, he had immediately discerned the Knight Dukes personality, and the bear's apparently obvious contemptuous nature aside, he had decided that there was something he liked about the fox, that, and he felt he had something to gain from him, although he knew not what it was, and so finally shook his paw in a vigorous motion. "Forgive my impertinence won't you" he said quickly, realising that he had been stood in silence for some time now, "Bernard Holborn-Windsor, what can I do you for your dukedom?" The bear asked, slightly less drawling now.

"I will not shatter your trust...after all the Tavare creed...Honor and Courage..." Blades answered as Justin took Leilani to the alcove. Overwhelmed by the armor options, He decided to look through the weapons, he had his ancestral Tavare family bow and ninjato already...maybe he could find a second ninjato to perhaps duel-wield with his current one.

Leilani looked to Justin as he led her to the alcove. "This...this is all quite impressive. Sorry if I hassled you a bit it's just...my papa worries about me a lot ever since my mama went missing."

Blades did indeed find another ninjato, a whole rack full of them, in fact. There were three in particular that caught his attention. One of them seemed to shimmer, its surface appearing darker and its blade sharper than the rest of them. It seemed to echo silently with power, and whisper promises of mighty deeds, of battles of impossible odds won by blades and that sword. The second seemed to have a red tinge all about it's surface, and seemed to quietly burn, whispering of revenge, of rightful might. The third one seemed to be perfect. It's surface gleamed, it had a blue colored grip and its blade seemed to be perfectly honed, as well as the whole weapon seeming to be light.

Justin nodded. "Of course, it is only natural for a father to protect what he holds dear. I know what he would feel if he ever lost you." He said softly, as the came into the alcove. He turned to look at Leilani and asked, "Are you trained in light, medium, or heavy armor?" I am in our vault, outfitting the icegate champions. I issued this call to arms because icegate has fallen to the verans. We must move now.

(Will post again with what I left off.)

"We will see what we can find in our vault, before you have to go back there..." She walked out into the hall and waited for Jaggerjack to follow. Icegate has fallen? That is but a few miles from Lupirnen... If this was the Verans, and they were going for us, they would already be at our gates, with more troops than we could ever hope to muster... They must be going for Lupirnen... Aiming to work their way here... We will be in the vault in a moment. "Icegate has fallen... Since they are not here, I assume the Verans are going for Lupirnen next..."

"You know well what my attachments are." Prowl said, stepping through behind him. She followed the sun-concious nudge from her pendant towards Justin, getting the general direction, though not exact location. She rounded a corner to see Justin and Leilani, and braced herself for the imminent lecture on carrying Daern she was sure to get. The blade was the only remaining piece from a set of armor that had contained a demon which they had just barely managed to cast out, even with the help of the goddess Luna. It contained no traces of the demon, but it was undeniably still a thing of darkness, as was evident by the chilling and darkening effects it had on its surroundings.

Justin saw the blade and his expression darkened. "You know the price of that blade." He said, then sighed. "Carry it with caution." Justin let it to at that. There was an entire suit of armor and weapons prowl did not approve of, one that fed off of anger, hatred, revenge,  all manner of negativity. He was going to be using it, because it would grant him great power, so he didn't make an issue of her blade.

Aside from the choice of  ninjato, there was also the choice of armor as well. There was a suit of full plate armor, backed by chain and leather, its ornate appearance was decorative and functional. The suit came with a tabard and had a battle-cloak that both bore the Phoenix Emblem, and no doubt it was nigh impenetrable from normal means. There were runes on its surface, engraved in silver. The plates themselves were made of blue steel, a metal most magical. No doubt enchanted as well. However, even though its protection would be immense, so would its movement restriction be. There was a set of plate mail, which was simply metal plates over the most important areas of the body, backed by mithril chain mail. It was not near as decorative, but still bore runes and some ornate designs, embossed in silver, and made from the finest blue steel available. There were other sets of armor as well, but those two were the finest, the full plate and plate mail. The field plate was slightly less protective and decorative than the full plate, but why go for the movement restrictions of plate armor and not get the finest protection as well?

Adrian looked at Bernard and shook his head. "No, my friend, not magic. What one can do with his body once they put time and effort into it is amazing, that and enchanted armor that absorbs impacts helps as well." He said with a slight chuckle. "Holborn-Winsdor you say? I've had dealings with your father in the past. Very nice man, always quick and to the point. His service was invaluable in the instances I needed him to procure certain items. Now, I am pleased to meet you, but I would advise that you remember who the real guest in these waters is."

The lookout aboard the crimson lance spotted two ship on the horizon, docked together for some reason. One was a merchant vessel and the other an imperial galleon. (Sorry it ain't much, I'm tired and need to sleep.)

"He didnt." She said with a shrug. "His summons did. Even though he didnt know you were alive, you can't fool magic that ancient and powerful." She looked Jaggerjack over and nodded. "That armor is of Veran make, if you couldn't tell from the red paint. With it, you should be able to infiltrate their ranks without suspicion... Just be careful, our archers won't be able to tell you apart from them..."

"I trained these archers." She said simply. She was the best archer around, and even had the ability to slightly adjust her arrow's path. "Though they are not quite as good as me... Just be careful. Now, we'd best get back to my husband."

Leilani thought for a second or two. "Medium armor." she answered. "Something I can still move fairly well in but that can also take a hit or two."

Blades took a good long while debating which of the ninjato would suit him best. After some heated mental discussion and listening to the vibes the swords echoed to him, he decided on the rather light feel of the third ninjato. He then took a good look at the suits of armor before him...speed or protection? What did he value more?

Justin had mentioned something about changing into a "Battle-Dress" suit of armor in the field, so why not go for the full plate armor? Even though they all came with a cloak and tabard, it was the most decorative. That, and the Hand of Flame had mentioned something about riding with him in a place of honor as they marshaled the troops this day. Justin would no doubt want to see the ninjato he had chosen, as per his instructions.

Justin nodded. "Of course. How light an armor? I have several sets to choose from, some of them might be considered heavy armor by your standards, but because of how light they are, we deem them to be medium armor. Tell me what you normally wear and I will see what I can do to to procure a set similar to it." He replied to Leilani.

Leilani nodded as she thought about how she had been trained "I remember I would wear something heavier for the chestplate. Then I had lighter plate armor for my limbs so I could still move my arms for magic and such."

Blades gave it a minute, thinking about the full plate armor...the spot of honor as the troops gathered. That and possibly being the only remaining blood member of the Tavare line he needed to protect himself for his and Leilani's sakes. He decided he'd go for the full plate but first he went to show Justin his choice of sword.

Prowl diverted her path, eventually turning the complete opposite direction from Justin. She walked straight until she came to a wall with a pair of swords hanging on it. They were long swords, indicating that whoever wielded them tandem was not a small furson, and they were quite flashy, indicating the furson had a thing for flair. The blades were highly polished, darkly colored steel, red swirls incorporated into the steel itself showing them to be of Veran make. The cross-guards were brightly polished gold with rubies of varying sizes set into them; ranging from rhinestone size to probably 2" across. The pommels matched the cross-guards; with 3" rubies set into them. The handles were wrapped with extremely soft red leather, and the pair had the names Scarlett and Crimson etched into the blades and red sheathes. "These were the blades the last Veran emperor wielded..." She explained to Jaggerjack.

(Bad move... Even as a friend. She's already moody, but add in the effects of Daern...)

Prowl's blade didn't make so much a ringing sound as it cleared its sheath; it more hissed. A dark glint appeared in Prowl's eye as she raised the dark blade. "Bring it back. Now."

part of the world seemed to melt away again and Daern was sitting hung up on a rack beside prowl "So, question is...is it the real one? No it's the real one, so still think your arrows can hit me?" the sword had seemed so real...

(Read her weapons... Her bow doesn't use arrows... It makes them.)

Prowl grabbed Daern and slid her fingers down the length of the black sword, feeling for a subconscious connection she had formed with the blade years ago, when it still had a demon on it. The connection still remained in the real blade.

"That may be, but Lupirnen is likely surrounded as we speak." She shrugged. "No doubt they're wearing the city's defences at this moment..." She listened as Leilani explained how her armor had been set up. "What you need is War Wolf scout armor... It is set up much like that..."

Justin turned to her, and crossed his arms. "While it may be well and proper, the law deems that armor inappropriate when we are marshaling OUR armies, not the war wolf armies. If she wears it, she rides with the auxiliaries. However...." He turned and got an armor that was a plate breastplate, leather bracers, and plate greaves with chain leggings and a protective chain and leather skirt. The plate was blue-steel, emblazoned with the Phoenix Empire Coat of Arms, and had a battle cloak and tabard. "She could wear this and get the war wolf scout as her field suit of armor." Blades arrived as he finished speaking.

Leilani looked over the armor with both intrigue and skepticism "Hmmm...this...this would work rather well. I'd much rather ride with you and my brother if possible and if this is the avenue to that...I could get used to this."

Blades came in to see the armor readied for Leilani. He decided to hold his words for now until Justin finished so not to speak out of turn.

(Alrighty... Since Sky handed his character over to me for the time being, I'll see what I can do... You'll all have to be patient, though, as I have no idea how to run another person's character...)

"There is an area to change around the corner..." Justin said, nodding thoughtfully, then turning to Blades. "Have you found anything to your liking?"

Leilani simply nodded as she went over to the directed area with the armor. "Alright, be back in a minute."

Meanwhile Blades presented his chosen ninjato to Justin. The one with the blue hilt that hummed of perfection and had a rather wonderfully light feel to it. "Here, this one spoke to me the most."

(Idk where Skyfire was going with the whole armory thing...)

Justin took the blade and inspected it, then spun it and held it blandly first towards Blades. "This is a fine blade... You chose well... I trust you can find armor for yourself as well?"

(Negation of your last post on my behalf, I wished to describe his enchanted sword.)

Justin took the blade, feeling its balance and tossing it up in the air to catch it by the hilt. "Razor is a fine weapon. He can cut through the seen, unseen, ethereal, and demonic or godly. You will feel his sharp edge in battle as it makes your more powerful blows shear through your enemies inferior weapons." He said, extending the hilt back to Blades.

As for Leilani, on her way to change, she passed by a rack of weapons. It might not hurt to look... (Post what specific type please, and quantity.)

"You mean the set you used to lock your sister in the bathroom that one time because she said yellow makes you look fat?" Justin asked, eyebrow raised, smiling, reaching over to nuzzle her. "That's right... On both accounts..." She said, embracing him as well and kissing him. After a moment, she broke the kiss off. "I still can't believe my sister said that... I mean, it wasn't said to be mean... She just can't be..."

"I can too." Pounce said, walking up behind them. "I just usually don't. Oh, and hi to you too, sis; Justin..."

Blades pondered for a moment the capabilities of the very Ninjato he held, then he nodded in response to the question about the armor "I have picked out in my mind which armor to don now I only need to go suit myself."

Leilani was never too keen on weapons but maybe if there was something simple like a knife, a tomahawk, or a boomerang. Something basic that could take well to a magic charge.
Title: Re: Aurora's Light(IC)
Post by: SkyFire on July 24, 2014, 10:52:26 pm
Leilani did pass a rack with many different wands on it, right next to a rack of tomahawks. Of the tomahawks, three called out to her. One was a very simple, plain tomahawk forged from mithril so it was lighter, undecorated in any way. There was no magic aura about it. The second was forged from mithril and decorated, though it bore no unnecessary jewels, and bore a sense of faithfulness, as though it was dedicated to its wielder. The third was forged from black iron and blazesteel, steel that looked molten after it had cooled. It seemed to glow at the thought of use.

Korel(core-L) stepped out from where pounce had came from, his spear in one hand, wearing white leather mail. It was almost identical to plate mail, except leather was used instead of metal plates. It was trimmed in blue, with the Phoenix crest on the breastplate. He'd been training under prowl, his mate, to become a war wolf. His considerable skill with the spear had soared to new heights under Faerlan McCloud, the finest spear in all the kingdom. He'd perfected it into an art form as much as swordsmanship was. Now, with Faerlan McCloud's recent passing, he held the title of King's Spear, and he was the King's Champion, along with Pounce. "Hm. You're Jaggerjack." He said, casually, tapping the butt of the spear on the floor, causing it to collapse into a cylinder of the same material, mithril, two feet long, and clip onto his girdle.

"Korel..." Prowl said, acknowledging his arrival with a nod in his direction. "Been taking good care of my sister?" The threat in her voice was there; it was nothing new... Every time she saw him, she asked the same thing, always with the same threat in her voice; not that the threat was hollow...

"Yes, sis... He has." Pounce interrupted. "And, Korel... Meet Jaggerjack." She gestured to her childhood friend. "He's as much War Wolf as any actual wolf..."

Korel gazed at prowl in the same even gaze and tone he replied with. "I have, and I will take your blade against my spear to prove it." Much like prowl, it bore full meaning, as did the challenge it said. He looked at Jaggerjack and nodded. "Of course, I can respect that."

Leilani was instantly drawn to the second tomahawk which hummed of loyalty and faithfulness. Giving it a grip and a small swing, she found it to her liking and took it as she went to don the armor.
