I recently got an android tablet for my birthday and I wanted to use it to do some digital art. I've heard that ipads are better for artists (more programs and more accurate touch screens) but I'm not that much of an apple fan and I have seen ipads working pretty slowly, although I've seen the same with android. Let's not turn this into a debate about companies..

So, does anyone have some recommendations on any good drawing apps for android. Free/purchase. Doesn't matter so long as it's affordable.

For a stylus I've been looking at something like this (anyone got a recommendation on a stylus?):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-wKwOZf29s (warning - bad music)
http://www.dagi-stylus.com/au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=1&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=72&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=208&lang=en&vmcchk=1&Itemid=208

From what I've seen you get gloves without the finger tips so you can rest the hand you draw with on the tablet (so it doesn't randomly interfere with what you are doing)

Well, I don't draw on an Android tablet, so please take this with a grain of salt - but I liked the software "sketchbook" back when I used Mac OS, and there is an android version.  However, I've tried it on my iPad and its really slow, but maybe it would work better on your tablet?

When it comes to styluses (styli?) I'm afraid I'm not much help  :(.

Yep :P It is. I downloaded Sketchbook yesterday on my tablet (Free) and it's pretty good. All I need is a stylus now :P

Have you looked at this company?

Their pens are more expensive (~$50USD), but it looks pretty interesting to me.

I haven't done much art on a tablet. But before spending a lot
on a stylus I would try to find a Brick n mortar store that has
one you could try. Sometimes the price is more about name
than how well it works.

I do have a $7 stylus for my kindle that works very well for
sketching or writing notes. I don't remember the name, but
I got it from Amazon.
