And what was that song?
-
All I could remember was "Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan..." over abd over again! The torment!
Lol, but seriously... Hm.. I have a very wide variety of music. I don't listen to one more than twice in a row and I rarely obsess over a song. Songs I have obsessed over though:
Frontline by Pillar - 30 minutes.
Where We Belong by Lostprophets - ? Mins
Wake Up by Lostprophets - 15 minutes
Blackout by Linkin Park - 45 minutes straight. Listened all day on and off.
Iridescent by Linkin Park - 30 minutes.
Yeah, pretty sad =.=
Edit: I remember having to do a school project with my friends, and we listened to " Boulevard Of Broken Dreams." probably 50+ times for 8 hours because we had to change the lyrics to some mathematical theory and then make a video for it x_x

I'd like to reference a certain recent thread here... (http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php?topic=44636.0)
Sometimes I start up Gangnam Style on repeat, and just let it play in the background while talking to my friends over voice chat or playing games. Pretty sure the one day I started it up shortly after work (probably 5pm) and didn't stop it until around 11pm. So... 6 hours of Gangnam.

I listened to Long Walk Home for two weeks straight at varying intervals of one song, to hours of playing. Is that obsessive? :o
-
When I draw, I often listen to just one piece of music throughout the entire sitting...although I don't know the longest, I'd say it takes me on average 5 hours to do a drawing. I've listened to Strobe, some classical music, and of course, Gangnam Style (:)) for excess of this while drawing...this is a tentative list as these are the only songs that come to mind.

So? ;)

Maybe I have an obsessive personality...I often find myself stuck with one song playing for hours on end, usually in periods of emotional lows. Most memorable one was Bob Marley - Three Little Birds. That was a long period of listening and really boosted my spirits.....I should get that song on my I-Pod again...
-
I don't listen to the same 'song' in a row, but for literally a whole month I played Cloud Nine by George Harrison.
-
Technically whenever I'm remixing something, you could say I've listened to the same thing for 3-8 hours straight, although that's more me checking scores and the like
-
The Fall of Troy – F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. about 87 times. Not kidding.
-
When I'm trying to learn the words to a song, I tend to listen to it on repeat for about an hour or so, until it sticks. I'm not great at singing, I just do it because I enjoy it.
Last song I did this with was Garbage's "Androgyny".
-
.....Rock the beat 2 by LMFAO for around 10 minutes, too close by Alex clare for around 7 minutes, and some more i cant remember right now :P

10 minutes? 7 minutes? You mean that you've listened to them for that long or that that's the song's length?
-
just checked my playlist... 425 plays of a 3 minute song.... this song is all instrumental as well..no words aside from wolf howls if you wish to count those. That's triple any other song I have and I've only had this particular song in my list since last February. :o what is that? . . . 1275 minutes..or...about 21 hours of listening. Jeez.

I have a nice program called Instant Elevator Music (http://www.instantelevatormusic.com/), which, quite appropriately, plays elevator music (or rather, music of the user's choice) when it detects a loading bar. I have exactly one song in that program's playlist. Quite appropriately, that song is a percussion cover of Sburban Jungle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz8iOYHtVYk) (the theme song for Sburb from Homestuck, hence the choice).
...Assuming a sufficiently long loading time, I may have listened to that song as many as 30 times or more in a row at some point. I don't think the program keeps track (I'm on a different computer right now, so I can't check). I never tire of the song, though, so everything works out.
(*edit: It doesn't keep track of play count, but it *does* keep track of total play time (or, as it calls it, how long I've been "stuck in an elevator"). My laptop's previous hard drive bit the dust recently, so this count only totals the past month or so, but that song's played for 48 minutes and 3 seconds since then.*)

I think I once listened to "Soldiers of the Wasteland", by Dragonforce, three times in a row. That song is over nine minutes long too.
Two other songs I've had on repeat lately:
"Desert Rain" song, by Edward Maya featuring Vika Jigulina
"Fast Car (Remix)", by Wyclef Jean featuring Lupe Fiasco
-
Jet got me listening to waiting for the end by linkin park i just have it on replay
-
From the time I got on the computer today (6:00) to just now when I turned it off (12:00 PM), I have had "Castle of Glass" by Linkin Park on replay. Soo.... about 7 hours. I'm going to hear Chester in my sleep. XD
-
nyan cat 100 hours, proof that i am insane, cause i never changed from start to finish
-
I'm on a Boat - 3 Hours
The Badger Song - 5 Hours (We played it on repeat at a LAN party way back when to annoy the crap out of everyone)
Marisa Stole The Precious Thing - 3 Hour
You are a Pirate (Newgrounds Edition) - 5 Hours
-
Omnitica - I Call It Progstep - 8 hours - had it on repeat when I lost track of time and went on a crazy coding spree. The day after sure wasn't fun...
-
maNga - We Could Be The Same for what must have been close to a week. I mean it. I listen to music while I sleep, and I set it to repeat through that and listened to it all day everyday. Did that again for some days when Fly To Stay Alive came out and I still like the songs enough to listen to them when they come on my playlist.
Also 3 days repeating Pink Floyd - The Wall (movie), watching when I could watch, playing the audio when I slept.
When I like something, I LIKE IT THOROUGHLY.
-
2 DAYS STRAIGHT :o :P :'( x_x (: >:( :D :) ;) thats what happened ( just kidding i didnt listen that long but for like 10 minutes i got tired)
-
Not on repeat but I listen to Philip Glass's Einstein on the Beach all, three hours of it.
I guess if I really want go hard core I can attempt to listen to Wagner's Ring Cycle in a single setting.
-
I have to spend several hours at least, sometimes up to a day mixing a single song. It gets rather tedious and unless the band is good (which they usually aren't on the bottom rungs of audio engineering), I find myself never wanting to hear or see them ever again :p

Three days of the song Brothers On A Hotel Bed....by Death Cab for Cutie
-
Someday by Nickelback I listened to it for about 30min straight because its the only song on my iPod

Ouch.
When I was little I had a certain christmas song that I really liked. I once left it playing on repeat for about two hours while I played a board game.
-
Music by Holst such as Venus, Neptune and Saturn I found to be good sleeping music once (and I'd listen actually awake for hours whenever I could not sleep), would leave such on repeat the whole night. Gentle dreamy orchestral music just seems so peaceful to listen to on repeat.
And sometimes I loop soundscapes and ambient for sleep, too, might leave a track on loop and forget about it, have it play in the background, too.

Down Boy - Yeah Yeah Yeahs : 9 Hours
-
Men Without Hats Antartica 10 Hours. Long bus ride. Don't question me.
-
For me, it's mostly Nightwish songs, but there are a few others.
1: The Poet and the Pendulum- Nightwish- 1 hour (but that song's nearly 15 minutes long)
2: Wildfire Part II- One With The Mountain- Sonata Arctica- 40 minutes (Great song. Loved it as soon as I first heard it.
3: Last Ride of the Day- Nightwish- 30 minutes (First it was my alarm, then I decided it sounded more epic in the morning)
4: The Kinslayer- Nightwish- 20 minutes (Especially the second half)
5: Hand of Sorrow/The Cross- Within Temptation- 10 minutes each (Both songs sound better when together. Plus it helps me think when writing.)

Dude I feel for ya. I have a good friend who runs a studio. The HORROR, The Horror.... The really bad part is engineers can't laugh. All that's between them and the 'singer' is two layers of 1/2 inch glass. These poor guys have to sit there with straight faces till it's all over. Yes, they have turned the monitors off. Only way to keep your sanity. :3
Four hours trying to learn a single two minute part of one song.

Most studios put a good deal into isolating the vocal booth from the control room. Generally, as long as the talkback mic is off and the singer cant see you, you can laugh as much as you want. Hell, I've had people having full blown arguments in the control room while the vocalist is doing his parts, none the wiser :p
That said, I seem to get lucky for the most part. The people I get in are generally tolerable :D

not sure if this counts as a song but nyan cat for 10 hours wile playing BattleField 3 :3

hehehehe it counts XD
if you do the dance with it :P

Longest for me now would be up to 10 hours of Trentemøller's "Miss You" on loop. I put it on to wind down before I go to sleep and leave it running until I properly get out of bed in the morning. I need some sort of quiet noise in the background while I sleep now.
-
I'm obsessive about not being obsessive... i do everything i can to keep my OCD from effecting my decisions. i never repeat a song twice in a row, because if i repeat a single song too many times, it gets old, and it takes years for me to appreciate it again...

'Lucky clover club'
Why me... the horror...
-
