I generally throw up when that happens. Poor sensitive nose.

just noticed something yesterday I haden't befor now at work when talking to the customers befor I hand them there glasses I say i'll just give them a clean and get my grubby paw prints off them. I only noticed after one customer gave me a bit of a funny look after saying it, suppose I can't blame em . I think i'll carry on saying it though kinda like it.  '<img'>

I find myself doing alot of things that make me "cat-like"....and usually when I am doing that kinda stuff I feel very secure and comfortable with myself. I can also give people these pissed off/intimidating looks and make my ears move back a little bit. I love stalking on all fours and I am very quiet when I am doing so. A few days ago I took a perminent marker and drew stripes and whiskers on myself and pounced people '<img'>

I have alot of fun with my fursona....and usually mundanes can realize Ihave a cat connection when they are around me enough.

I can be eerily quiet when I walk/pounce, even in my huge size 49 shoes '<img'>
I've had the "paw pad" thing going on since maybe like the 4th grade. Mostly on my feet but I get little ones on my hands. Also can feel my "ears" tingle sometime. Never had the phantom tail effect, seeing how a lynx doesn't have much of one anyway '<img'>

Interesting link. I hadn't read much of it yet, but if someone pokes me with a stick in the near future, I might lend a critical eye to it.

I study psychology from a research perspective, so a lot of this is of interest to me. Call it a skeptic's curse if you will.

*snicker* I wonder how many other furry psychologists there are...  '<img'>

(Hides now)

I'm planning on making Psychology my major when I get into college (Yay, I'm a senior!   '' ).  However, I'd rather do clinical psychology than research...

Oi, that was relatively off subject...  ':p'

In any case, ever since I started doing Yoga, I have felt my ears, muzzle, and paws more easily, and I actually started walking on the balls of my feet once without realizing it (Has anyone else done this?  ':dead:' ).

Hmm.... let's see... oh yeah, I also have found myself unconsciously acquiring the Fox Medicine traits even more so... well, obviously not unconsciously, but without any extra impetus from myself   '<img'>

Example #1 XD

Example #2

and finally,
Example #3!

Well, I've hogged enough bandwith for myself; It would be interesting to see if anyone else was able to see if they, too, were beginning to show signs of their Totem/Medicine/Fursona/etc.

For the longest time, I have unconsciously "pointed" my ears in the direction of a new sound. Usually it's subtle, but occasionally people say, "Whoa! How do you move your ears like that?". I feel phantom canine teeth and use them rather well when slicing through beef jerkey. I sniff the air too, making my nostrils flare, and telescope my body to get a better vantage. I can close my nostrils completely too, and hold my breath for a long time. My personal best is 5 mins with minimal activity, although 2 mins while constant swimming is easy. Still haven't developed the 3rd eyelid though =^_^=. I can feel my tail most of the time, especially when I'm sitting down. Chairs with backs have become a nuisance and I have to hang my tail over the side or sit sideways. My senses have become very keen since I found furry. I sleep usually on my side with one leg curled up and the opposie hand under my head and the other three limbs straight out. Still no pads, and walking digitigrade becomes uncomfortable after a while, but my species walks plantigrade anyway.

Yoga helped with it?  Hmm...I might pick it up later...though I'd like to try bellydancing first...I try to walk on the balls of my feet, but it's difficult...(at the moment, I think I'm just too pregnant:P)  I tried walking on all fours...being on all fours felt great, but I think I'll wait till I'm not trying to carry my son as well before getting used to walking that way other than in dreamtime.  Lucid dreaming is a wonderful thing...I love running on all fours...

Just my take,

Ah, lucid dreaming, astral projection, and shapeshifting. I have experienced them, but have yet to be able to invoke them at will. There is nothing quite like shifting to anthro or animal form once lucidity is realized. The things experienced are so real!

I have never felt anything like phantom parts or gotten anything like paw pads. I have felt certian urges like a huge craveing for meat, such as a burger or steak. This is why every chance I get I barbque food. Cows hate me I suspect...
I have also felt the need for a good howl, being my fursona a wolf and all. I have never really howled yet. I have fought to keep that urge down. I cannot find a spot devoid of anyone so that I could howl anyway.
My sences do change alot. Being mostly deaf in my left ear, I know when my hearing suddenly changes for the better, if only for short time. My right ear is fine, it's a perfectly normal ear, so no need to worry there.
I have also felt my inner wolf quite strongly on occasion. Not under a full moon, but when I was looking a Mars in the sky I felt it. I cannot discribe it in words or though any other form of expresion, but it was a very powerful feeling. I have also felt it around Halloween. Other times it just comes for no reason. I am always to control it. I'm not sure if I want to give in to it yet or at all.
I have always been a night person. When I can I stay up very late. It's fun to see all the late night shows such as "Big O" and other animates. However the effects in the morning are not pleasent. My inner clock tells me to get up but my body shouts at me to keep sleeping. Thats a headache right there my friends.
I do not sleep in a ball. I don't think I have any type of any normal sleeping position. I don't awake and suddenly make a note on what my postion is. I do know that I sleep very violently. I do notice when I have my little plush tiger up near my head when I go to bed and find it suddenly find it across the room when I wake up. I think I just toss it in the night when it gets in my way in finding a comfy spot.
Still, no pads, no feeling of phanton parts, just ugres for meat and the feeling of a very powerful feeling and the need for sleep in a comfy spot.

I do get phantoms, and relatively frequently too. I can often feel my "inner fox" wanting to leap out and show itself, but I too can also control it. I kinda decided my psychiotrist does not need a new topic of conversation at the moment. '<img'> Well, thats all I can say at the moment, I'm tired of battling written language again.

I have phantom wings.  I get the sensation of them opening up when I feel a strong breeze.  Sometimes  get the tail or beak effect as well.

I like to sit up in high places and listen to the wind or sometimes I just need to let out a good screech.  I sometimes get the craving for raw meat (but with the exception of sushi, I fight those urges because I know my human digestive system isn't meant for digesting it).

Like a bird, I find that I'm hypersensitive to almost everything (which is why I can't be around smokers) and I don't like to be in small spaces or have any part of my body restrained or held down.

But I think the strangest thing of all is the fact that Ulario has a scar on her heart... and I was born with a hole in my heart and didn't find out about that until after she was created.

Not everyone is a lucid dreamer.  The majority of the world can't do it.

I am and the only way that I can is to know that I'm dreaming as soon as the dream starts.  Then again, I'm a weird dreamer in general.  Phychology says that when one dreams, the brain can't process large tasks such as reading... which is why letters show up as squiggles.  Yet in my dreams, I can actually see the letters.  Weird.

I think once I literally howled when I was playing Half-Life on a night level where the moon was showing. That was strange. I had no control over it. A sudden urge. As for phantom parts. I have them now and again. I was sitting in my French class and I could've swore I'd hit the guy behind me with my tail. My ears have pricked up countless times and I always curl up in a ball when I sleep. Got pads on my feet too. Not on my hand tho as I'm a computer geek too. I'd most likely have them on my fingertips by now. The sense of smell thing is sooooo acute, I can smell things looong before anyone else does. It's freaky sometimes.

I do like going bare foot, but lately I have gotten much bigger pads on my feet than normal.  I also have been getting pads on my hands too.  My sense of smell is abnormaly strong, and I find my self smelling stuff alot, and lately when I'm hot, I'v been panting before I can catch my self.  When I'm barefoot I walk on the balls of my feet without thinking about it.  I have an urging to howl at the moon.  And if I stay up late, or am out in the woods without too many people, my mind starts to change.  It's like I lose controll of myself. I mentally become a wolf.  Am I just gong crazy? Or are there others out there that shift like this?  If so, do they have any way of controling it?  I'm always afraid it will come at some akward time.

I don't think your going crazy (unless of course I am as well). The same thing happens to me from time to time (except fox instead of wolf). Most recently it happened while I was taking a walk in the rain. At the moment, I do not know od a way of controlling when it happens, however, it never seems to happen when I'm around other people.

i think i had a lucid dream last night, i was in my human form and i could change at will, like i was in control, into my anthro form and then into my full animal form.it was soo cool, i was in a game i been making and it gave me some knew ideas.
i wish i had the phantom tail effect though, i walk on the balls of my feet and i walk on all fours sometimes but i never felt my tail. my scences have gotten sharper now too, i can hear better and see better and i think my scence of smell is coming back(lost due to allergies)and i seem to have this"heightened scence of awareness" where i can see people before they see me, even in a crouded room i seemto know where they are.
another thing is that since i embraced my fursona i seem to be more agressive and violent and i got a shorter fuse than i used to, i dont know if thats part of being a teen guy or  my fursona showing itself
you can't contain the inner beast

I don't know how many of you know about Otherkin..

But that's what this sounds like.

I'm Otherkin; a dingo bipedal Otherkin.

You know how some people feel like they're stuck in the wrong gender?

Well, Otherkin is like that.. only you feel like you're stuck in the wrong species. ^^

I have a phantom tail and very recently aquired phantom ears.

Umm.. any more information on Otherkin can be found Otherkid dot org and theOtherkin LJ Community page.

/shrugs./ Is anyone else Otherkin? '<img'>

Reddie, I have no idea what I am. There are just way to many labels. ':p' The otherkin.org page just had a link that is broken, and I don't feel like going through a livejournal at the moment. Right now, I stick myself under the heading "furry" simply because I like the people here better than the weres (in general, no offense to any therians). If you could find another link or give me the just of Otherkin, that may fit me. *shrugs*
