Do any of you like to chew on pet toys?
« on: March 05, 2005, 01:57:21 pm »
Sometimes, when I'm at the store, I get cravings to chew on a toy. I usually like to chew on the dog bones. Am I the only one?

Not pet toys, but I used to chew on everything else.  It became a problem -- especially since I'd end up chewing holes in my shirts and stuff.  Maybe it was a nervous habit or something, but it went away once I got my tongue pierced.

I like the rawhide bones, the rubber ones just never felt right and the rope versions get stuck in my teeth.

I don't chew on designated chew toys, but I chew on a lot of plastic things; straws, gum (yes, it's mostly plastic now), and my headphone wires.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered with failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

Whoa.. headphone wires... I learned a hard lesson from chewing on wires back last year, when I did that. I was riding the bus home, I got this funny taste in my mouth.. I realized that it was like licking a battery. I go to take the wires out of my mouth, and- NYAH! ':goldomg:'  To put it mildly, my tongue got a zap. I havent chewed on very much since then... although, just gnawing on a dog bone every now and then's pretty relaxing.

You guys are great.  You have solved the diet problems of America.  I always open a bag of chips or anything just to munch on something.  I think I will try a piece or rawhide.  Can't be that bad can it?  If this works, Furtopia should publish the "Furry Diet".  I am serious.

nope, but after I finish eating meat and stuff that had a bone to it, such as pork chops and ribs, I'll chew on the bones like a dog would.  it's fun and delicious at the same time '<img'>  I also chew on pen caps until they're so flat the break.  mm mm, plastic '<img'>

I chew on alot of things, not chew toys though.
I mostly chew on string like things, such as the wires on my headphones, the wrist strap on my digital camera, dangleing string.

Things Mitsuko (Flashy) chews on;
Nylabone
Kong
Rawhide bone
Sweatshirt cuff
Videogame controller wires
My knees
Spoon
Straw (both the grass type and eating utensil type)
Books covers (it's a habit! I must always mark my books as mine by getting a few teethmarks into them...)

So... I'm not limited to toys. '<img'>

In a word? No. But if you guys all chewed on dentabones, maybe the dental health of this country would be improved without the fluoridated water.

I do chew on ice, but that's not a toy, so I guess it doesn't count. One of the docs I work with told me it meant I was sexually frustrated, though.  ':?:'

Ah, yes, ice is good; I don't chew it, but I pour salt on it and lick it till it starts to melt. '<img'>

I had never considered chewing pet toys...
I always chew on the cords of my hoodies/coats, though, till they get all slobbery and I have to get a drink because they dried out my mouth  '<img'>

I chew on things only when I bored. Generally pens, plastic things, Action figures, toothpicks, the inside of my lip, and occasionally I have a go at dog toys. ''

One time when Hokey and I were in PetSmart we decided to try out some of the dog bones. We got a few wierd looks, but surprisingly no one seemed to care overly much.

I chew on everything. Though I dont have any pet toys around here to chew on even if the whim did take me. I always got in trouble as a kid because I destroyed pen lids in minutes without even meaning to.

Right now I'm particularly bad because my wisdom teeth are coming in - need to cheeewwwww *goes to get some gum, even though it dosent help much compared to plastic*
