How would YOU make Furtopia better?

With all the updates going on I've been giving this one a lot of thought.  What are some ideas that would energize the site and improve enjoyment for others?  Myself I was thinking of the user control panel and perhaps a new mascot/layout-update.

Ok debate time.  Furtopia is YOURS so what changes would you make to improve the site others enjoyment?  I'm very curious to others ideas!

Ok, from time to time, a lot of furs are asking questions of:
"Anyone in (Country, City, State)?" in the Furry Connections forum or the Regional boards. I have a very interesting idea.
Is it possible for members to have some sort of flag icon under their avatar that represents their country or state, and then when that flag icon is clicked, it leads to a master list or map showing where all the members are from/located?

Yes! Seconded! We could use one of those custom google maps things!  In addition to location,  if someone was setting up a local furmeet, they could mark it on the map!

I love this idea. ^_^ It would probably be very tough to implement, though.
But if there's any way to bring back the "Location" field under people's avatars, that'd be a less complex version of the same thing.

I like the idea of a state or country flag icon. I come here often looking for fellow furries from my neck of the woods

I think it would be a great idea even if we only had our states/country, under our names.  We don't need to put cities as that would take up even more room.

Didn't the forums used to have something like that a long time ago? I remember a blank place where the member could put their location to be displayed under their avatar (be it Beaufort, SC, USA, or something silly like "Under your bed, eating your socks"). I kind of miss that, as I found it really cool to see where everyone was from around the world.

I agree, a location icon would be useful.  I would be in favor of a text based one, allowing members to be as vague or specific as they want to.

Move the Regional boards out of the basement where they never get seen, and put them under Furry Connections and Contacts where they'll see some traffic.

That will be one of the biggest helps to social networking this forum could do.

Yes, Furtopia does have some old regional boards that were developed long ago which are here:

Right now, I think combining or re-designing the regional boards with the Furry Connections forum will probably have to be put on hold till WS gets done with all the server work he has to do. When that is done, then the staff will look into future improvements.
For the moment, members can temporarily post location details in their sigs if they wish and/or leave a little flag icon (100x100 size or smaller) in their sig. Leaving any personal information in your sig is optional and at your own risk.
