Why am I doing this? I'm not entirely sure myself. I suddenly felt inspired (perhaps it is because I finally admitted to myself how much I am in love) and feel like I should. SO I am going to try (I say try vehemently) to write a poem every night, after I write my journal and before I go to bed.
(I know it is the twentieth but I consider it the nineteenth as I haven't gone to bed yet)
January 19, 2010.
Eyes
Azure pools of deepest mystery,
Emerald crowns of a great wooded plot,
Or hazel oaks of ancient history,
Pardon if it seems that I've forgot.
When I look into your eyes,
I cannot see any form or color,
I forget about the worldly lies,
And the persistent pursuit of the dollar.
Your eyes are a haven,
A repast from a world so craven.
Your eyes are the most beautiful I have ever seen.
(Author's note: I wrote this one today when I realized how thoroughly smitten I was. It is a little short for my tastes. The ending is kind of tacked on because I didn't like the way it originally ended. I know it doesn't fit but I felt I hadn't said it bluntly enough. Also, I was listening to Elton John's Your Song, today so there may be a line that draws from that a little.)

I like the use of rhyme. I can never get that down right, so I usually go without.

Heh thanks. I've kept up with every day so far, except the ones I had to fudge (By doing the day after and changing the date) I might post some more later.

Lol, I have done the same thing in my journal. Although my journal is not strictly poetry, so I might have less of an excuse than you.

Another one,
Heavenly Visage
Midnight meadows,
Hidden shadows,
Lit by the moons,
Inspire a thousand tunes.
Twilight ocean,
Hypnotic motion,
Purple waves,
Providing what the soul craves,
Heavenly visage,
Divine message,
Spoken secretly,
Given discreetly.
And within that sight,
You cast the light.
