No idea why, but these don't seem to work?
On the transcendence forums its set to 80x80, yet some guy was using a 200 or so pixel wide image (rather unwittingly it seems), and it doesn't stop people from linking large images for avatars... >:( [meaning we have to manually go through and remove their avatars & send them pm's.]

And yes, phpbb2 is /old/.
We are trying to get the developer to switch to SMF 2.0... or even phpbb3. :P

consider mybb.  The tools are great to begin with but the community support is even better.   (:

Likely we don't want to flood possible options in there, since we really are pushing for SMF (working on a theme already & have both mods & experiences already with SMF 2). PHPBB3 was really only up for consideration since it would be the most guaranteed to work transition, despite the SMF being quite easy to transfer to anyways.

I'll assume this problem is similar to what we had.

The reason I found was because it can't tell the size of a picture that's being linked rather than uploaded so it can't reject a picture bigger than what it's been told.

The fix for the Javascript resizing.
