Random Status Update

I do this a lot with my facebook. Pretty much, think of something random, funny, silly, missspelleleled, thoughtful, RANDOM.
they just have to be thought up by your little head

Here are a few examples from my own facebook status updates

So it sounds like this is some sort of "Twitter" type game where people just post a random update of what's going on and what they're doing. Is that correct?
