Soo I added a large list of OS's that I could randomly think off off the top of my head, pick which ones you like. Some from Apple, some are Windows, some are -nix, some are random oddball ones no ones ever heard of like XTS-400

Out of that list I've used

Puppy, Mandrake, most of the Windows OS's (except Windows ME), Mac OS 8, Mint, Red Hat, Droid Platform, iOS Platform, and a few others not listed.

Picked Windows 7 because that out of the few that I've used (98, XP, ME, Vista, 7, Mac OS some version or another from 5-7-ish years ago). Though I've not done any toying around with any Linux based stuff. I have better things to do with my time. I've also not gotten to dabble with Windows 8 at all, but from what I know, I have little interest in doing so as a desktop user.

I'll say that one that I'm fairly intrigued by is the new Chrome OS. When I bought my laptop last year, I considered trying that. It seemed like a good solution for use while traveling. But there were no in-store demos for the Chromebooks back then, and I'm not going to just up and buy one without getting to poke around at it first. Probably better to wait for 2nd-gen hardware/software for it anyhow.

Only Windows 7 for us. Not a fan of Macs, but that's just our preference.

That was probably Mac OS 8

Now,Windows 7,and love it.

Windows 95/98 were ok for their time,Windows ME was horrible,Windows 2000 was yucky,Windows XP was cool but not great,Windows Vista was terrible,Windows 7 is great.
I only used Linux/Ubuntu when I had the need to get "free" wifi a few years ago if yall know what I mean(and I think you do),other than that I generally dislike the Mac OS´s,and tablets aswell. So Windows 7 for me,does everything I want it to and does it very well.

Well, it would have to be Linux - I'm using Ubuntu-but-not-because-I-removed-most-of-the-default-stuff-and-replaced-it-with-stuff-I-like-more and like it more than any of the OSs I've used prior to trying it (Primarily Windows)

Minor annoyances aside, Windows XP would be my most current favorite over all due to it's reliability and that it's had a higher likelihood of being compatible with most anything I could throw at it throughout the years.

Debian and Fedora would be my close second and third favorite, and with XP losing support and compatibility on a daily basis due to everyone else moving on to newer systems, either Debian or Fedora will become my new system of choice.

Of what I could remember, here are most of the systems I've used…

Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) ; Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) ; Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
Debian 3.1 (sarge) ; Debian 4.0 (etch) ; Debian 5.0 (lenny) ; Debian 6.0 (squeeze)
Fedora Core 4 (Stentz) ; Fedora Core 5 (Bordeaux) ; Fedora 6 (Zod) ; Fedora 7 (Moonshine) ; Fedora 8 (Werewolf) ; Fedora 10 (Cambridge) ; Fedora 12 (Constantine) ; Fedora 13 (Goddard) ; Fedora 15 (Lovelock) ; Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle)
Knoppix 5.1.0 ; Knoppix 6.2.1 ; Knoppix 6.7.0
PC DOS 3.3 ; PC DOS 5.0 ; PC DOS 6.1
MS-DOS 3.3 ; MS-DOS 4.01 ; MS-DOS 6.0
Ubuntu 8.10
Windows 2.1 ; Windows 3.11 ; Windows 95 ; Windows 98 ; Windows 98se ; Windows 2000 ; Windows XP ; Windows 7

I tend to use linux if not gaming, but most of my computers are made with gaming in mind, in which case I use win7 x64 lately. In the past I had XP, vista briefly before going back to XP and later upgrading to 7, and prior to that 98, 95, three-point-something, and I recall struggling to convince DOS to run my games as a child. I might've upgraded to 8 but I don't really feel like trying to get rid of that awful tablet pc interface. At least when ubuntu did that there were still non-unity options (and though ugly, initially slow, and seemingly lacking much in native customisation settings, unity somehow wasn't quite as annoying).

hehehe I just bought a Lumix Laptop :D

Is this collectible or something? Or 512mb hard drives are actually still put in some kind of laptop?
-I still can't think of anything.

Ubuntu is awesome. <3 Been using it for a couple of years now with absolutely zero complaints.

Mint also looks promising... but to be honest I'm content enough with Ubuntu that I've never felt compelled to try it.

Yet.

Haha.

I like converting windows server operating systems into PC operating systems.  Right now i have windows server 2008 r2 functioning exactly like windows 7.  Only....  I got it for free through dream-spark because i'm a student,  and it has some completely pointless and memory hogging features disabled by default.

My favorite linux OS is debian but i couldn't tell you much of why.  I've been using it for servers for years and i know my way around it better than any other.  The commands are more comfortable for me.  Etc.  whether or not it's legitimately better or just what i'm used to i couldn't tell you for sure,  but when i tried centOS is pretty-much spent the whole time frustrated and/or annoyed.

I love windows as a PC OS ... excluding ME, Vista, and Win 8. I hate there server OS's Red Hat is a much better OS when it comes to running servers...
