Do you have any characteristics assosiated with animals?

Several people pointed out to me that insted of  moving my eyes to look at an object or to follow a sound, i move my head and body to face it... Like birds do.

I'm midrange tonedeaf ( in the range most people speak at), but I can hear higher and lower frequencies than normal- it always freaks out the person giving the test  '<img'>  I also tend to react and turn to noises that others miss like an animal will.
My upper jaw is 5/16 of an inch to long, I refused to have surgery to correct it ($10,000  ''  and insurance doesn't cover it) when I was younger. My left jaw hinge has developed a false setting that will line my jaws up closer, that would drive my orthodontist nuts- "Pop your jaw back where it belongs!"
I have fangs- my canines are VERY pronounced, even after years of braces. They stand out enough that people comment on them  '<img'>
I have a habit of "scenting", ie I will turn my head up and slowly sniff the air for smells on a regular basis. One reason I love riding motorcycles is that each trip is an experience in olfactory overload.

My canines protrude slightly, I sniff the air a bit more than usual, and I pickup on sounds others miss, especially in the extra high frequences. I can hear those sonic bug repelers and I can locate a monitor that was left on in a lab of 20+ computers.

My canines used to be more noticable, but somehow both of the points managed to get chipped one way or another, and they look more normal now.

My ears stick out slightly, making them look slightly pointed and more animal like.

As far as hearing/smelling things, I'm pretty similar to Sporty Fox.

Can't think of much more, really.

I guess my canines stick out a bit farther than the rest of my teeth, but that might be normal. I've never paid that much attention to other peoples teeth before to compare.  '<img'>

My ears stick out a lot more than the norm and come to a slight point at the end (looks more elf-like actually). People like to rub 'em a lot too. ''

I tilt my head to the side a lot when I'm confused by what someone said.

Heh, if you scratch me behind my ear, I'll lean my head back and my leg will start going like crazy. I think that's more of a voluntary thing though.

I howl a lot when I let out yawns, but usually when I'm alone, only around people I know, or when I know it won't be heard.

Yeah, I sniff the air every now and then myself without even realizing it. And whenever I hear an unfamiliar sound of some sort, I'll turn in the direction of it immediately instead of gradually like most people do.

When I'm barefoot, I like to walk digitigrade a lot. Taking the time to fall back on your heels takes too long. '<img'>

The standard running up stairs on all fours.

I think that covers it all.

i tend to growl when i'm angry or startled, make sort of questioning barks when i'm confused, yip when i'm happy or excited.
i also sniff the air quite alot, much like sporty fox
i go up stairs on all fours and tend to squat down like a wolf in a sitting position
i sleep curled up and if i had a tail it would be wrapped around me
i hear small noises other people dont.
yep, i think thats pretty much it...

Hmmm.  Never thought about it much until I read some of the responses.

I also tend to walk "digitrade", but was told that it was referred to as "walking on your toes".  At one studio, an animator loved my walk and used it as reference for several characters.  I always thought it was because I was *ahem* petite.  This fox is a foxy 5'4".  '<img'>

Also, don't know if I use my nose more, or if I'm just more sensitive to smells.  I tend to notice smells more, and frequently am either attracted by them (think my mate smells warm and sweet), or bothered by them (can get sick from garbage or rotting smells; most colognes/perfumes makes my nose burn).

I kind of make a nest out of my blankets and sleep on top of them. (think of a cat curled up on a sweater)
I'm occasionally caught growling or hissing at someone when I'm annoyed, or even snapping at them with my teeth.
Like so many other people I also go up the stairs on all fours when I can get away with it.
Dog whistles and anything high pitched drives me absolutely bonkers. It hurts my ears.
I do that thing where a tiger curls up its lips and sticks out its tongue to help it detect a scent better. It looks rather odd.

Well I guess I have a couple animal-like qualities...but vague mind you. My hearing's top notch...so much that rap music is almost fatal for me. As for my eyesight, merely average...but my tracking is practically uncanny...I'm a very accurate shot (runs in my family). And while running, I tend to favor staying on my toes. Other than that, I can't think of anything else, heh.   '<img'>

Hmmm, lets see...
~ I growl, snarl, whine and make gerneral animal noises to suit my mood.
~ I have pointy elf-like ears.
~ I can hear things other don't but in a strange way (I don't always hear the sound and turn to thesouce, sometimes I hear it bouncing off a wall and turn to the wall).
~ I have sharp, pronounced canines.
~ I have a good sences of smell (one of the reasons I could never work in a vets is because I can smell animal blood really well)
~ I have an odd ability to tell if someone is feeling unwell or upset, in a room of 25 little kids I picked out the one who had an upset stomach just by walking past her.

Theres probably more, I just never notice them.
~Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize that we can't eat money.~

My vision is horrible [20/400 nearsightedness], but I can read signs even when they're far away.

I am sensitive to vibrations. I have to listen to music with the bass turned down, or I can feel it in my neck.

I walk and run on my toes when I'm barefoot.

I make a coccoon of sorts out of my sheets and blankets, especially when I'm feeling sick.

I'm very protective of my personal space. Enter it and face my wrath.

I don't look it, but I can move really fast when I need to [or if something scares me].

I sometimes see/hear/feel things that my friends don't even notice.

If an unknown noise is heard I will either startle out right or freeze totally until the noise is identified.

My ears are in constant motion listening to what is going on.

If I hear a horse and you are watching me it will look like I have rapidfire hiccups same shaking as a horse has when it whinnies deep Im just not equipt to awser anything than nickers.

I don't know if every one would call these animal characteristics but what the heck ill but 'em down anyway!

~ Ill notice the most subtle changes in things, hmm this proves to be a bit hard to explain....maybe an example will help! I went for a holiday for 2 weeks and my friends sister looked after the house, once i got back i noticed the draw in my room was sticking out more than usual, it HAD been opened... I didnt go into my room looking for anything like that but little things like that really stand out to me!
~ I can lie silently in the woods/bush/forest for hours without moving or making noise... This is great when in a ghilie suit. Current record is 6.5 hours laying completly still... i reckon i could have gone for longer.
~ At night , in a semi familier enviroment i can sneak up on ANY one of my friends with out them having a clue that im there, even in dense bush i can sneak up to a couple foot away then dash up and ge them in head lock.... just for fun.
~ I can find my way around the bush/forest/woods really easy, you can blind fold me , walk me a km or 2 in a random dircetion and un blindfold me , ill find my way out...
~I can loose someone in the woods DAMN easily , also im pretty bloody agile whilst in there!
~Im a pretty damn good shot with a rifle , I used to shoot alot when i lived in south africa with my friends. I could hit a target the size of a dinner plate from 250 meters away using the rail sights only....runs in the family, my uncle used to be a shooter for england a couple years ago.

and off course all this stuff comes in REALLY usefull whilst playing paintball  '<img'>.
Give me a rifle , ghillie suit and some free time and ill take down a lot of people:)

One of my friends told me that I make facial expressions like those of a dog when I look around and talk....he said something like "you kinda talk with your face, like a dog" or something....oh, and I walk up stairs on all fours and, when barefoot, walk on my toes...I like the feeling of being scratched on the head, mostly above my ears, and the back of my neck....I also kinda growl when annoyed or mad and I've been known to let out a bark now and then....
oh, and I forgot to mention, I am very territorial...

As for animal characteristics, I've caugh my self growling at people and I admit I also walk on my toes(not in public )but other traits like reflexes can be blames on video games and such.

I don't know whether my canines are bigger than usual but one is a little crooked so it's somewhat noticeable.  I walk digitigrade occationaly.  I sniff at my food a lot, especialy if its something I've not tried before.  (Ever wondered what a cracker smells like? ^^)  I stretch the same way dogs do, front legs then back legs.  All of these are habits from before I was furry.

Maybe it wouldnt be considered a furry characteristic but I'm very short-sighted and slightly colour-blind as well.

I've been told I eat like an animal, and in fact most of the time I do. I find myself swallowing food more than chewing. Also I have kind of a wild beard going so maybe that's something............oh yes and I stay up late and stare at the moon from my chez lounge in my room.

I have a major shiny reflex, like Corvids. If I see something shiny out of the corner of my eye, I ususally turn to find out what it is and whether it's worth keeping.
I also do the turn-the-head rather then turn-the-eyes to follow things I see.
If a bird flies over when I'm walking outside, I'll look up and follow it.
I hiss somethimes if I'm angry. Kinda like a cat-hiss rather than a snake-hiss.

Oh yeah, and I walk digitigrade up stairs. it's just easier.
If the arches of my feel or my heels hurt from standing for a long time, I find that walking digitigrade or barefoot plantigrade helps.

Fruitcake is a legitimate gender in my book.

I have an extremely sensitive nose. My mom told me she noticed it since I was really young. I'd be able to smell a cow farm or dinner among other things before people knew anything about them. I still do. My mom used to tell me how I'd cry from the horrible smell when we used to drive by this cow farm near where I lived when I was around 3. No one else could even smell it a little bit. I guess that fits into my therian wolf view about myself.
