I'm going to check out that webpage again, Sumarra. Seems Webshots only has 3 kangaroo pics on it... thanks.

I ought to get you done for quadruple-posting ]B=8)  I do quite like that first Dragon picture you did.  It looks like a comminglation of a few different animal traits in one.  I think the back legs look rather kangaroo-like, with the upper-body and parts of the front legs being inspired from a horse.  The tail looks almost mermaid-like to me; the colours reflecting that.  I'm interested in seeing more of your Dragons now.  Post some more!

Edit - I've just seen the adult Dragon pic you told me about.  It's wonderful.  He's so beautiful and attractive.  His body is so well designed, and drawn in a very expressionate way.  The position he is standing in is great; his head leaning on a hand, looking towards the viewer with a lovely red eye.  My, you did a great job on this picture.  Please do some more Dragons, this one is amazing.

(giggles) I guess you can tell there is a great improvement over my first dragon and my third one! I tried my hand at it since there were so many furolks drawing dragons at the time. Yes, it is definitely a 'heinz 57' mix!

I am not that great at the dragons. Still learning as I am most other creatures. Thank you for the positive feed though!

Any particular position/coloring? (giggles) Can't hurt to try....

I really don't mind.  I don't have a preference over traditional or anthro form, so it's down to whatever you're comfortable with doing.  I like how you do your colouring, so do it as you have been doing - unless you want to be experimental.  That could be interesting.

I have to admit
I have to quit
reading the poetry chat

Before I go around
the forums that abound
because as you can see
I am still thinking POETRY!

(shakes head to clear away the rhyme)

(giggles) That happens way too often! I go and read the poetry chat and respond then when I read other posts I am still trying to rhyme.....

I will have WhiteShepherd come up with some ideas for me. He does that a lot when I am at a loss for something. I will definitely post the sketch once I create one!

That's great, I look forward to seeing some sketches ]B=8)  And I wouldn't worry about writing in poetry all the time - you're very lucky to be able to write it in the first place.

Ok, for you DrakonianDanceR and Sumarra, here is the url for the very first dragon I ever did! Just don't sue me if it ruins your eyes!

My very first dragon!

I like Sumarra's MUCH MUCH better!  '<img'>  '<img'>

When I created this dragon, I colored the piece of paper with black chalk and then used my eraser to erase the form of the dragon. I used a regular pen to outline it then used colored markers to add some funky coloring to it. (giggles) And the head looks more like a horse head than a dragons!

That is really interesting, Kada! Don't worry about the skill level... I hide my first pics very far away and rarely ever show them off, heehee!

But what is so interesting about this pic is that it's almost as if you knew what the true description of a chinese dragon was. From what I recall, it's known as a long serpentine creature made from the parts of many others. Most commonly it has the claws and legs of an eagle, the head of a lion, and the body of a snake. But there are many other interpretations of that using horses, fish, camels, and more.

Do you remember what it was that you saw/heard/read that imspired that picture?

@ DrakonianDanceR

I don't know how well I write poetry but some times it just comes out. Finding the words isn't always easy though.  '<img'>  I will keep you posted of any sketches I do of dragons.

@ Sumarra

Thank you. I don't know where the idea for that came from. I saw a lot of dragons at FC 2000 in the art show. I just tried drawing one. The only thing I remember was that several artists were creating dragon pics that year and I figured I might as well try my hand at it. After doing that pic I didn't like it. I almost threw it away but knowing that I like to keep the stuff I create, no matter how awful it turned out, I put it up anyway. There is a couple other 'ugly' pics I did that I have up on my website as well.

When I created the dragon for DragonCity's webpage, I got the idea from a dear friend of ours, Swiftwing, who creates dragons. It was actually of one of his characters. I wanted to see if I could draw it. (giggles) When he saw it he loved it but let me know that his femme character didn't have scales. It was sort of my interpretation of his character. I told him I could redo her and he said no! He loved her just the way she was. Then of course, the third dragon (in the adult section) was also of Swiftwing's other character. (giggles) Liking males, that one was much easier to create.

I think I might have been thinking of the 'dragon/dog' in "Never Ending Story" when I drew that. Trying to remember what it looked like. Other than other artists renditions I think that is the only other 'dragon' I had seen. I never thought to look on the internet for pics to use as reference. *I didn't start downloading photos till after talking with Rog Minotaur at AC 2002. I had asked her where she got her ideas. She said most of them came from the internet.*

I like that last dragon you did, Kada. It's one of your best imo, hehe.  '<img'>

And I really loved that dragon in the Neverending Story... such a great character. Watched the movie at least 5 times now.  ':p'

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Sumarra. Once I get the family pics out of the way, 3 more to go, I can start working on furry stuff. I already have a lot of ideas for AC so I will have to start working on those soon.

I'm resting at home today while WhiteShepherd cares for the fish because of my back. I will most likely 'force' myself off the computer and sit in front of the tv and hopefully finish ALL 3 family pics! I want to get them sent out this week. I have so been wanting to show my daughter-in-law the pics, which so far she hasn't looked on my website, but I don't want to spoil their surprise when they open the box!  '<img'>

I can't remember that dragon's name and I saw it several times myself, but not recently. He was so cute and cuddly that one wouldn't even think of him as a dragon! I guess that is the look I was going for in my first rendition of one. Something that wasn't so scary.

I have noticed and can tell when I have improved. Like that last dragon, it was the best up to that date. Then this one, "BlackSpots, just a glimpse", was the best to that date. Then I started on these family pics and my  "Jaguar at Night" was my best one to that date. It seems to come in spurts. But, I can look back and see so much improvement over time. It is so fantastic to see!

I still think my "Jaguar at Night" is still best to date but I saw a lot of improvement in the face on these little guys as far as perspective and how their faces are supposed to look. "Jaguar Kits", at least I think they are kittens or are they cubs? hmmm...

Ok, now I am rambling....  '<img'>

All this talk of Dragons is really interesting.  By the way, the Dragon's name in the Neverending Story was Falkor.  He is an example of an eastern Dragon, with the dog-like head and snake-like (thin) body.  I think I mentioned about eastern types somewhere else on the forums recently (where I posted a big picture).

Yes, you did, DrakonianDanceR. Thank you for the post of the pic, somewhere on the forums! (giggles) On Sumarra's forum. I see what Sumarra means!

Oh, yes! The cuddly Falcor! I can picture in my head the boy calling his name but it just wouldn't come out! Thank you DrakonianDanceR! Oh, and I love your history lessons! I hated histroy in school and was horrible at it. But, I like the way you do it. Not that I will remember them after they are posted but I like them just the same!

I've not seen the film for ages, but I remember the Dragon's name, for obvious reasons.  Though, I also remember the horse was called Artex, and the boy was called Atrayu (I'm not sure of the spelling.  It's said "a-tray-oo").  And my history lessons?  You mean the facts I give on Sherryll's board about that particular date?  Well, it's certainly better than school history lessons were, as I know you agree.

(giggles) I remember the characters! Of course, I am terrible with names but as you have them printed there I remember them. Now it makes me want to find the movie again and sit down and watch it!

Yes, the history 'facts'. Those are cool and yes I most definitely agree about them being better than the school history classes!

I have it on video somewhere - I might dig it out and give it another watch ]B=8)

A history fact for you, then:  On this day (12th March) in 1969, Paul McCartney got married to Linda.

Yes, Paul McCartney was in the Beatles.  I wouldn't worry about saying you liked listening to them, because even now, people of all ages are still enjoying their music.  They have left quite a legacy.

If I remember correctly, they are all split up now though, right?

Goodness me, yes.  They split up at the start of the 1970's.  And as John Lennon has passed away, (I'm not sure how many other members may have also gone) it'll be unlikely they'll reform any time soon.

And I can tell you've not kept up with them ]B=8)
