Uh, sure. What did you say your viewpoint was again? I still don't get it. Are you a minarchist or aren't you?

I sometimes wonder if a global government would work better if there were other planets with governments to compete with it.

Independant, actually. 8)

As far as the government is concerned, we need them like it or not. However, their role should be keeping things operating in the background. Such as providing services of protection (police, firemen, ect.) and to make sure the country's economy is on the right track. None of this blowing money on things we don't need or trying to "win" unwinable wars that are ideal based. The job of the government is to keep things that are nessesary going. For everything else, leave it to the private sector. As per an international standard, I would love for the governments to be more cooperative - the sane ones. For the crazy parts of the world, leave them alone. Not stick your noses in their business and causing even more drama. Major fault of the US. Our people like to say they are good guys when in reality, we're a bunch of bullies getting way too involved. That would stop if I had say so.

Whatever you view that is my viewpoint. :D A smooth running government that doesn't oppress its citizens. And if there were a working model, be able to travel about without constant threats or dealing with something being illegal elsewhere when it may be legal where you came from.

What I'd like to know is, If there was a one world government, then who would the leader be to run that government? How would the person get elected? I suspect there'd be too much bickering between countries trying to say that their leader is better than everyone else's. And what "checks and balances" would there be to prevent that one world leader from becoming a dictator?
And lastly, Where would the central government and/or "world headquarters" be located? If I had to guess, I'd choose Brussels in Belgium, or maybe someplace in Switzerland since that country has long been neutral.

Not a one world government. A cooperating and highly optimized standardizations for existing governments. Preferably between nations that don't believe in 72 virgin promises and communists. Otherwords, nations that have some concept of freedom. (though not one country is perfect at implementing this concept :P) I did at first want a total mutual understanding, but I was quickly reminded that some things are too broken to bother repairing.

You're talking about something like a parliament, then?
Can we have a queen? I want to have a queen.

And some were born broken and have no repair.

I do like the idea of having a council and having districts, but ultimately trying to go on a global way :3
But it's utopia to think 70% of the world would agree on something.
