Only in Japan..:D
-
non-invasive neural-machine interface technologies... of that specificness? wow. *gets more interested in the technology until he realizes the fursuiting applications* O_o *epiphany!*
-
You said it, Avan! This is going on my fursuit dream list along with the animatronic tail :D
-
I really want those ._.
-
Cool,
Now all we need is a Surface electromyographic bionic tail (http://www.wolftronix.com/biotail/biotail.htm) to complete the set. (:
-
A bit creepy, actually... Has a lot of potential though.

Uncanny valley much? :D

When they have multi channels, and a price point that most furs can afford, this will be so cool. :)
Would love to have eye blinks, nose wiggle, ear movement. :D
-
OMG I want those, thats epic!
-
DO WANT :D
-
Just think, as well as being a great prosthetic for the animal impared, these could also provide augmented hearing once the technology advances to the pointwhere it can aim where the brain recognizes sounds to be coming from like real animals as well as show emotional states. With the implanting of microphones and dsp processors as well as hidden receivers in the inner ear and the removal of the vestigial human ears we could all have hearing as good as our animal freinds. With the emotional recognition and display capability we need no longer speak. With a automated tail system the picture would be closer to complete. Of course I want the eye inplants since my eyes are bad by even human standards and claw implants and fur implants, ..... wait i just need a brain transplant. :D
Seriously though, cool stuff.
-
saw this about a day or two ago.
really good progress towards prosthetic and such.
cant wait to see where this technology goes in the future.
-
I wonder if they can make a tail that has that functionality as well.
I would really like to be able to swish my tail.
-
Maybe make it swish normally then twitch when agitated
-
I don't see anywhere to buy them, can anyone find where we might be able to purchase one?
-
Now they only need to make them smaller, and for dog furries.
Since it is already made for cats.

Pah! I'll really be impressed when I see a pair of functional rabbit ears. ;)
-
I really must have these now! :)
-
My teacher mentioned them in the "current events" of the class. I just about started laughing uncontrollably. X3

LOL
what was the exact context?
-
By context i assume you mean why i was laughing. It was funny only because it was one of those things where "oo i found this somewhere other than you did but from the last place you would expect...teehee."
-
No, I meant why your teacher mentioned it
-
That's awesome.
I wonder how much these will sell for, and how long it'll take before they become available in the US.
...and if they be available in a fox version.
-
I think I saw somewhere they're trying to find a way to cheaply make these, because you probably either need expensive equipment, or expensive people to put them together
-
I love the idea (and wish they made a fox version) but I can't help but wonder if this actually works as intended...I dont know, I would want to test them out myself because I don't know if it's an illusion of control thing...
-
The way they describe it, the ears probably use the same technology as the Jedi Force Trainer:

-
Sounds interesting but this publicity stunt has all the marking of vaporware.
-
If I can get one for less than $500, I'm buying one! Cat ears, fox ears, whatever... They're animatronic ears!!!! :o
Then I'd have an excuse to make my own fursuit around one of these. :D
-
wantwantwantwantwantwantwantwant
But would like wolf ears.
-
i so want these in a wolf versionsadly these may not work for me seeing as i have no alpha brainwave((pattern of mental consious thought rest)i found out when i had an EEG) there fore it may stay perked up at all times misreading this as a lack of relaxation
-
Actually since I'd love to go to a rennesance fair as a cubi I'd like a pair of these done up to look like DMFA's cubi headwings. :D
-
I imagine when a fursuit maker gets a set he/she will make
a variety of similar ears to fit it. Shouldn't be difficult for them
to add more action in the future. This appears to be a on or off control
right now.
They are making improvements on mind control electronics all the time.
Like arby said I am waiting for rabbit ears. :orbunny:

Soon we shaall use technology to turn everyone in the world into a brony! Then we'll throw a huge world wide party to celebrate world peace.
-
Possibly the best thing I've ever seen. I'm going to Japan next year, so I might see if I can get myself a pair =^-^= :)
