I've noticed that many many forums are blocked at my school. Furtopia, however, was not.
I looked it up in the database just now.

Category: Education.Arts
Description: Art, art history, architecture, graphic design, and illustration.
This made my day.

Awesome! 8) I love finding out little things like that; it just makes your day a little brighter.

...
...How did "architecture" make that list?
-
I'm a little confused as to how it's classified as education as well. I could see maybe a little.
-
i don't know. >.>
I remember my writing quality drastically improving while i was role-playing here constantly... but i doubt they're counting that. Maybe for the art tutorials and the writing and poetry or something?
Or maybe Shim has a furry friend in high places (networking staff). Or maybe it's just a case of someone not paying much attention.
I'd be willing to believe anyone of of those three explanations.

I think they recategorized furtopia.org

Probably because of some of the "unique words" and the fact we have an adult section, regardless that it's not open to the general public.
Though going back to the architecture questioning, I think it was a default grouping. Often times that and drafting in general are listed with other visual arts categories in educational lists like that.

I agree, Quamer. I just checked that link by Shim and got the same thing you did. Adult "lifestyles". *shrugs*

Huh. I guess they did :o.
Well, for over a year, I was browsing the forum at school :).
-
Do you think they noticed the errors because of the sudden influx of traffic to that page? ;)
-
Thing is now there is no R rated material anywhere public on the site. I think the just assume furry=adult content only. Shame but I figure with all the sites they just make quick judgements.
-
Well, WS, there are still a few boards and threads that appear to have adult content publicly. These are mostly in the sub-forums. Take this, for example:
Cesarin
The artwork of Cesarin, predominately consisting of adult and artistic male nudes.
I've looked through that and cannot find any adult art currently, but the board still states that it is used for adult art. Something like that could easily cause all of Furtopia to be put into an adult category.
What we could possibly do is get the forums ready for a re-evaluation.
