There was an animated redwall series some years ago. Late 90s maybe? I had them all on VHS.

I just looked into that, now you mentioned it.  Seems that it was never shown in my area onTV, or believe me I would have remembered it.   Too bad for me, I would have loved it!
Gee , now I will have to watch those after the books.

I read the first three Redwall novels way back in either 5th or 6th grade I think. I quite enjoyed them but I never got around to the rest of the books.
I would love to see a movie based on them though.

 When I re-watched Peter rabbit (by Sony pictures), I couldn't help but think that the hedgehog, squirrel, birds, fox, rabbits, badger,  all could be prototypes for Redwall characters. If those character models exist like solid models for machine parts, all you would have to do is slap on new clothes and assign new voices and get Ferdy,, Coggs, Constance, etc... hmm....
Isint it true that in animated movies, often times minor characters are also prototypes for later movie characters in other films?

Sorry if the thread is too old to bump, but I am definitely a fan of Redwall.

I read all but the last one or two books, as the newer ones just started to lose their appeal for me. But ultimately it was what got me into drawing more often, and doing art requests for people on Redwall Wiki. It has also lead me to a bunch of other great stories like Mouseguard, The Mistmantle Chronicles, and Beyond the Western Deep. (Which is having a kickstarter for a rerelease of Volume 1 right now by the way. )

I read some of the books back when I was in grade school. It's hard for me to really recall the exact grade but it was a long long time ago.
I don't recall much but I do remember that I enjoyed them a lot and even got in trouble with my PE teachers because I spent my time reading instead of running around and playing.

At least until my doctors reported to the PE teachers and the school that a lot of running would be too strenuous for my screwed up heart and they left me alone.
Actually I got through most of my school years with my nose in one book or another.

I have the complete collection, though I haven't read them in a while.  Right now, my niece is going through them.  Hurray for 2nd-generation fans!

I watched all 3 tv series movies, and loved them .   They were pretty good following  the book.
Can't wait to share them with my brothers kids if that opportunity arises!
