In terms of just general, continuous entertainment, this is easily one of the better episodes all season. Discord kinda lends himself well as a character to this sort of thing, but the whole episode was still fairly lighthearted, and I there were just a lot of little things through the episode that made me smile and laugh.

And it was definitely another high quality episode to go along with much of what we've gotten so far this season. My only gripe is really that it was only a half-hour episode. This one kinda had one of the more abrupt endings of some of the recent episodes, and it left a feeling of "oh, that's all it took to reform Discord?"

I also wonder if there's a particular reason behind this episode. Did John de Lancie actively want to do another episode after getting himself rolled up in the middle of the fandom? Did they need to do something so Discord could be available to work for the 'good' side on a future episode? Or did they just simply come up with the idea as a good opportunity for a lesson, and took advantage of the fact that I'm sure John wouldn't turn down any opportunity to voice for the show again?

I don't really know if this was a good episode or not...  I doubt that I can be objective about a Fluttershy episode featuring Dischord, since Fluttershy is my favorite pony and John De Lancie was the star at the first Star Trek convention I ever went to.  However, I guess, the flip side of that is if they'd got it really wrong, I might have been massively disappointed.  And I wasn't.  I liked it.  A lot.  Dischord was entertaining, and Fluttershy stayed true to herself.  I agree that the end felt a little abrupt.  A little easy, really.  But, I liked the choice they made about where to go with it.

I hope that they do bring Dischord back for some big season finale battle where he fights alongside Celestia.  That would be really, really neat.
