My new nature garden
« on: August 06, 2004, 11:19:28 am »
I've been building a spot to sit out in the evening and relax for the last few weeks. It's still underconstruction but I've gotten it finished enough to show everyone. The pond is deep enough that I can keep fish in it year round and I have a fountian and underwater lights that I've yet to install. I've also yet to rent a trencher so that I can run power down to it, it's a couple of hundred feet from the house so it's to far to bury the line by hand.

I wanted to put an old woodpile that was there to use, I think it came out quite well. I had transplanted some flowers around the pond, unfortunately we had a sudden storm drop 4 1/2 inches of rain in two hours right after I planted them. The heavy rain beat them down, you can see whats left in the pics.
If you can find them there are 8 foxes, 3 rabbits, 2 grey squirrels, 2 red squirrels, 2 chipmunks, a large frog and a bear so far. more animals are coming next weekend. The gazing ball stand has lion heads thru out its design.

That looks like a great place to hang out. Are you going to plant some plants?

My nieces planted LOTS of seeds a few days ago, I also have a bunch of flowers that have been given to me to transplant. I've put the first part of the lighting system in now, tho I need to add a few  spotlights to it. More animals are coming sunday, and I'm adding a "spring" that will be fed by the fountian pump and flow from the logpile into the pond. I hope to have the "spring" finished by next week and I'll post pics when it's done.
