I hire a deaf man and give his written instructions to grab the thingy and bring it back to me.  he picks it up and is fascinated with it's thingyness so much that he keeps it for himself.

The thingy is not in the hands of a deaf man, who has walked into a library.

he's singing but he cant tell so he is kicked out of the library, he is then mugged for unknown reason, maybe because he was in a prison library, but we may never know

the "thingy" was never token away from the area because even tho you are def the "song" sucks so much it burns through anything that comes close
