Obama's last day
« on: January 19, 2017, 07:50:20 am »
The president of the united states is a person that effects nations around the globe. How do you feel about President Obama leaving office?

Note: I want your opinion on him leaving, NOT on Trump becoming president.

Looking forward to your opinions!

eh he did good with getting our soldiers out of the war (sadly us leaving lead to the rise of isis though), but iv heard he failed miserably with obama care or whatever, leaving tons of weapons/vehicles in the middle east, etc.

pretty much the way i view him is that he partially cleaned up the mess bush made (i only started getting into politics/news at the very beginning of 2016 so not too sure about what stuff has been going on), and after fixing that mess he just kinda held america standing still not destroying too much (so pretty much just preserving the country for a few years)

im not sure if it has anything to do with him though the rise of the SJWs is kinda a sad thing. hell everyone just wants to be a special snowflake and start complaining when things dont go their way... heh reminds me of when i was 5 or whatever and got sad when i didnt get a toy i wanted (i was still far well behaved than the people in the streets today) the world is a tough place, and just complaining isnt going to get you through it. work hard/work together and we can make the country a better place, dont just complain you need special treatment for some new disorder/whatever you just made up/created.

i put the 3rd one down as my vote. just another politician nothing too noticeable (i am happy about gay marriage becoming allowed in all states. though i am also disappointed since i was kinda left out of all of it, and with sciex being other the other side of the planet there want much celebrating to be done. from my point of view that was pretty much the last major social rights thing that we could have pushed for, and i feel a little sad that me and sciex weren't a part of it/able to celebrate (even though i disagree with how most gay people act, it was a common goal we all wanted to achieve) <-- though this isnt really obama's work (unless he selected those supreme court justices) just something that happened while he was president.

It's sad his presidency brought out so much racisim in the country. The GOP
should be ashamed for how they treated him from the beginning. Instead of
working with him they worked against him from day one. Our way or no way was
their creed. I hope the democrats don't try the same thing. Compromise is needed
no matter which party is in power.

In spite of this I think Obama did a lot of good for our country,. I think one of his
mistakes was not reminding the country of the good things he acomplisedI as he
did them. Unlike Trump he wasn't one to take credit for what others do. I just hope
Trump and the GOP don't undo it all.. They can' replace the judges he appointed
at least.

I personally know people who didn't like him because he was a black man. Now
we have a white man so perhaps the racists are happyer now. Those I know are
anyway.

I was part of the GOP and we beg  to disagree. let us not  forget the Democrats had  both houses of congress until 2012. That ,says a lot about his presidency.

Well, the election is inevitable, I do like what he did for the GLBT community, but I (like many others) think he could have executed things differently.

Lord knows that the ACA registration should have/could have been done in a more timely and organized manner, but what's done is done I suppose.

I guess I'm neutral towards him leaving.
Every now and then...

All presidents have their faults. They are only human after all.

I shouldn't paint the GOP as a whole, as there are people in congress who work
for the common man, and not only the rich. But when they are threatened with
the party running people against them if they don't vote the right way it's wrong.

I believe the GOP took over the house in the 2010 mid term election. At that time
they were running against the ACA, and misrepresenting it to say the least. A friend
of mine heard the ACA was going to create death panels. To say if one was too old
they should die rather than get care.  I don't know if the GOP was saying this or
someone else. Obama did say people wouldn't loose their insurance which was
wrong. He should have  stood up for it along with it's possible faults.

If an idea is good, threats are never needed to work with other people of good
conscious The GOP has shifted to the right over the last 30 years, and this paints
the democrats more to the left. The ACA was a republican idea first proposed
over thirty years ago. When Obama worked to get it passed they made it look
like it was his idea alone.

I hope Trump turns out to be a good president, but he isn't showing much of it
yet worrying over crowd size and the popular vote he lost.

But now I can't go to the USA...

I'm pretty sure Spain isn't on the list of countries from which immigration to the US is temporarily banned.

Considering people from the UK with valid passports and reasons for travelling are getting detained and questioned for the tiniest little thing, and the UK isn't on that list either....

I think it's currently "we'll hold up anyone we want for stupid reasons".

He was the best firearms salesman in the history of our great nation.  :P
