Mobile or Desktop?

IRL, I use a desktop for the Forums about 75% of the time, and the remaining 25% is on my phone.
My fursona used to have a mini computer installed in him, until he forcibly removed it.  It was used to connect him to the greater consciousness, which he opposes.
My fursona is very secretive, and uses a highly encrypted channel to talk to others of his kind.  He lives on a version of contemporary Earth, and keeps a low profile.
What about you?  How do you connect, and how does your Fursona connect?

80% via my 2009 Macbook, 20% my 2018 home built desktop. Negligable% my phone.

Yeah, I have also connected using my still functional 2003 Windows XP home built desktop  :D
And my 2016 homebuilt windows 7 machine.  :-[

But I am glad to hear computer building is still alive and well still in 2018.

I always use a desktop to visit the forum. My fursona uses the same one.

When I was still working I had a laptop I used at work to visit.

I think as long as people can buy separate parts there will be home brew
computers. I had to replace the fan in the last desktop I bought. The old
one was a cheap fan that failed.

Yeah I forgot that many ferals or anthros who live in a primitive world wouldn't have or need Internet.

I would choose a desk top. Especially if your going to have sensitive data on it. Like financial reports and banking. I have a smart phone but it's not connected to the net. I use if for it's phone, clock and google maps.

Despite being highly advanced there is still no such things as computers. Or even the need of such things on Tapon Ru.

My fursona uses his cervical optical link to connect to a mobile Internet dongle concealed in his collar. He otherwise cannot directly connect to the Internet with his cybernetic systems, partly for security reasons, but mostly due to the potential inconvenience of his ISP cutting of his access because they unilaterally decided that surgically implanting their SIM card is against their TOS.

Meanwhile, my human body is stuck with this laptop, pounding away at this keyboard in a massive waste of mechanical effort. >:(
