The war rages on, as far as video games go. ':p' Which handheld you think is best? And which one might you buy? I chose the DS, cuz I'm a diehard Nintendo fan at heart. '<img'>

Keep in mind that the DS will have Animal Crossing DS, a port from the GCN Title, and will be online. As well as Metroid Prime: Hunters. Also, the PSP will have Metal Gear Ac!d and Gran Turismo 4 Mobile.

Choose wisely.  '<img'>

My chances of affording either in the next year are exactly nill and I've got better things to spend my money on, so I voted "don't care for consoles"
its the oddest thing. I really didnt see this coming! We had dinner and talked about going over to his mother's house on Sunday and about getting a puppy. I thought things were getting serious. Then I wake up on Thursday and hes not here! just like that - gone! I asked some of his buddies in the system 32 folder but they didnt know what happened. I just dont understand.........

I'm definately looking forward to the PSP more than the DS. Not only does the stuff on it look great, but it's small and such.

I'm also looking forward to the PSP, but the cost ($300?) and the fact that it will not play normal-sized DVDs or games pretty much ensures that I'm not getting one. :/

The DS (Assuming it is backward-compatible with GB, GBC, and GBA games) looks kind of promising, but it seems kind of big and clunky (like 2 old-style GBAs hinged together) and I fail to see how a majority of new games will take advantage of a second screen, or use the touch-feature.

Anyways... I'll be happy to stick with my GBA-SP. '<img'>

The DS IS backwards-compatable, and they changed the design since E3. It's MUCH better looking than it did before. '<img'>

Also, many of the games will use the touch-feature, as a menu or aiming device. So it'll be pretty helpful.

Are you kidding? Nintendo DS will be murderously dominant. Even if the game just uses the touch screens for menus, all the third party companies would see the innovation and the price and would rather have their portable game on Nintendo DS. The Playstation Portable is about to make Sony look like idiots. I can feel the aura of that...

Nintendo DS, just because it's what Nintendo do and they are better at it. Maybe when the next generation PSP rolls around, there may be a little more competition.

Ahhhh.... okay. The Gamegear was really sweet looking. It had color and it was back lit. For it's time, that was top notch. However, it failed utterly... The games weren't the greatest and it sucked batteries like Billy Warren, a jerk at school, sucks..... Uhhh... where was I? Oh yeah! Every company that tried to compete with Nintendo for portable has just been pushed back into the shadows. Gamegear will always leave a scar in our minds, yet. We'll just have to wait and see... By the way, the size may be like a wide Gameboy Advance SP. They may be working on that as you are reading my reply. I love the Nintendo DS idea so I'll definately get it for christmas, the holiday with the most forgotten moral. Yu-Gi-Oh at the greatest hopes will be almost as simple as having the cards laying in front of your lap. As I said, we'll have to wait and see.....
See you guys later..

As much as I hate to admit it, the DS will be the most promising hand held mainly because of its compatibility for older media and that stupid second touch screen (which is totally unecessary IMAO) The PSP will fail because the battery life will definatley be low, the media may be costly because of the design, and its quite larger than the DS...

Yep, just like when the PSX broke off from Nintendo and everyone said it would never amount to nothing?

Ahhhh.... okay. The Gamegear was really sweet looking. It had color and it was back lit.

It wasn't a backlit LCD, it was like an actual mini-TV screen.  Which is why it needed 6 AA batteries and drained them in a few hours. ':p'

I still have my Game Gear. ''

I thought it used 8 AA Batteries. '<img'>

Also, the PSP's battery is gonna be SO big, it needs to be worn on your wrist!

Back in 1991 or so, Nintendo, Phillips, and Sony all teamed up to make the SNES-CD. But, Nintendo backed out of the plan, thinking it wouldn't sell well. SO, Sony felt cheated and made the PlayStation themselves, a few years later.

To defend Nintendo against the PlayStation, they quickly put together "Ultra 64", which is mostly known as Nintendo 64. The one flaw about the N64 was the fact it STILL used cartridges, and it took more money to make them. BUT, the PlayStation had flaws too. Since it read discs, the loading times were unbearable, but the gameplay was excellent.

Nintendo all the way....the gamecube wasn't that great, in my opinion, but I think the new system will be sweet......with a second screen, it'll make rpgs alot better....kinda how they did with the gba and gamecube with ff crystal chronicles, but that was kinda a pain....but to have both screens right there and one a touchscreen will be pretty cool.....tho I'll never buy one because I'm not really all into videogames anymore....I'll just stick with playing my NES now and then...

Personally I never cared about the console war.
What matters to me is the quality of the games. '<img'>

To put up this poll you needed a computer right? Play your games on that  '<img'>

Seriously, I'm a console gamer and a computer gamer (mostly computer), but I'm not really a mobile gamer. Maybe if Japan actually decides to export the mother series to the american market, I would buy that and play. Earthbound was one of the sweetest RPGs ever made. Easily. Games I really want that are coming out (Burnout 3, Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Advent Rising) are all for the XBox or PC, and there isn't really anything in the portable market that has me interested, nor has there been for a good long time.

I'll double check that.

OH NO, 15 SECONDS IS TOO LONG! WAAAH!

That's bulldust, Ape Escape (a notable PSX title) hardly takes any time to load, it's how the game is made, not the console.

Trust me, it can really be a big difference. I played Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on my cousin's PS2 (because there is no way I'm buying one) and the loading times were pretty long.

When I played the same game on my computer, the longest loading time was two seconds, and that was for loading up the game. When loading different sections of the city, it is less than half of a second.
