I don't. I mean, I'll bark and meow and generally act like an animal on occasion, but it's mainly because I just feel like being silly.

I used to maditate too. It's really good for you and it helps me relax. When I'm in school I go nuts when everyone is going so slow! I need to run, be outside! Sometimees I growl and that gets the steam out.

I was talking about were-like activity. Like going out and BECOMING an animal, and just running around the house or such. I just wanted to see how many furs actually do that. I've talked to fur friends that do it all the time. I just wanted to see how many do. I quess I can base it on Savaaha's animation on her signature. Now that I think about it, it's a silly poll. Oh well.

Wow to transform physically would be so cool. Too bad it's not possible (is it). I love to run around like that. I always am growling at people and culring up whereever possible. I love acting that way. '<img'>

Physically, well I wish I could! Mentally, everyday- if to do nothing else but go out and play with the wolfers on all fours, wrestle, roll around, and let them pounce me like one of thier own. I also like to meditate and go into a state of lucid dreaming when ever possible. I can't force it to happen, but when it does I get a full phantom shift into a wolf and can see, smell, and hear everything vividly.

Yeah, definitely not a stupid poll- I know what ya mean, Sadie. I think part of the reason why I consider myself a furry is because of the fact that I tend to reflect a few 'wild' mannerisms at times- I've been known to "grrrr" a little more than necessary, growl when I'm angry, whine when I'm happy, etc. Kind of creepy for others in my family, but hey, ya can't change what's on the inside >:}

Aside from that, most of my 'transforming' occurs in the dream state. I've never truly been able to meditate and project myself as an animal, which I know some people are very well capable of, but I can accomplish such a task while asleep. I've actually had a number of extremely realistic OBEs (out of body experiences) where I've been in forests, deserts, jungles, etc, and seen them from a four-paws perspective. In the most vivid, I've actually experienced a few heightened senses- smell and hearing, mostly. You'd be surprised how close you can get to nature just by closing your eyes...

Not sure what you mean either.. But if it means getting more in touch with my Equine I cant exactly "go Wild" only wild horses are Mongolian Taki and thats not the breed I have a connection to. I am therian/were but its complicated to explain (its on my webpage).

Hey everyone. I was just wondering how you stand on transforming. How often do you like to run wild  '<img'> ?  To be back with nature and your nature friends/family?

Very few polls are silly, Sadie. You just have to make yourself clear is all.
As far as going Were... its not physical. Its more along dreamshifting lines but I do have phantom shifts (feeling a tail or mobile ears). There are many levels of transformations.

Ah yes, I morph quite a bit. I've had really powerful morphs where I could physically see my animal self; though others apparently couldn't. I've had many lesser morphs ranging from fealing claws on my finger tips to fealing a tail to fealing and almost seeing my full anthro self. To bad it isn't visible to others. Well, occasionally there are people with the second sight who actually can see it when you morph, but that's rare (though the fact such individuals exist implies morphing is a true spiritual experiance and not a mere phsychosis). Occasionally I can tune out to see my aura, and if I'm morphed at the time I may see claws there or some such even if it isn't a particularly strong morph. I havn't tried looking at the auras of others who morph, though, so I don't know yet if I can see the animal form of other spiritual furs/lycanthropes or not. I don't know if my second sight is quite strong enogh for that or not.
I tend to experiance morphing most when the moon is growing or at full moon, but morphing can also be induced by attending furry events or I may morph at times during my Wiccan rituals.

Yes, being equine it's kind of difficult to "go wild" Horses are easygoing and laid back much of the time anyway, particularly the larger draft breeds. While I would like to run with my equine brethren on the open plains, I'm afraid these pitiful human legs I've been given simply can't keep up.

Much of my own "transformation" occurs stongly in dream state, the rare meditative lucidity, and sometimes through sheer desire. The last of those is only being able to "feel" the phantom tail and hooves and muzzle, though, no actual sensory or perceptive alterations. Though, I do recall occasionally scenting horses when nothing I'm wearing smells of them, nor are any nearby.
What is this that I feel inside?
This warmth, this light I cannot hide?
It smells of grass and crisp, cool air..
And feels of fur and wild hair..
Resounds of strength and thund'rous hooves..
And tastes of sweat and morning dew.
Those who know naught may call it Sin,
But it and I are proud equines.

I myself don't do it really, unless I'm in an altered state. I'll either meditate, or, what seems to work best for me, meditate while under the influence on an entheogenic (psychedelic) substance. Legal ones only for me, though, at the moment.
I'm looking forward (and quite nervous) to an ayahuasca journey I'm going to take in several days. If you don't know what Ayahuasca is, it's basically the most powerful plant based hallucinogen, and basis for the culture of pretty much all the amazonian Indian tribes (especally the Maya). Shifting into an animal form is quite common to it (Jaguars and snakes, usually), as well as meeting with spiritual and extradimensional entities.
The stuff is also NOT recreational, unless puking your guts up is your idea of a good time.
So, I guess I tend to transform when I'm in a shamanic and altered state of mind. And that isn't very often (maybe once a month or so).

I usually feel "at one" with the animal spirit... funny, though, my fursona is a mix of purely domesticated dogs, but whenever I "transform", I feel... lion-ish...? Perhaps I'm not really a dog at all. <.<

Once upon a time I could shift my mind, well, almost at will, sometimes against my will (daydreaming on bus and realizing that you have shifted into "Hunter" mode is strange) but now I have lost it all together. I am trying to figure out where I lost my way(in a lot of things, not just this)

Just my two cents  '<img'>

None Morphic Wolf Therian. Tha's me. =) I could sware I already posted in this thread though... ???

I feel at one with my 'animal side' most of the time, though I try to hide it around people I do not know or do not trust (the occasional disconcerted whimper at the mall or the local Six Flags has yet to draw comment).

As far as physical transformation? I wish I could, sometimes I think that if I try really hard it will come, but it never does. The closest I get is in the Etherian/Haven realms. Which is to say I can will my spiritual form to extend around me in a none visible way, I know that sounds crazy, but when I'm doing that I an actually feel the pain of my tail being sat on or my ears being squashed. Just wish I had some control over those dumb wings, they where given to me by another spirit so they do as they damn well please and its annoying as well as painful at times. -_-

However, my body is my spirits prison, for crimes of the past that I can no longer remember but will never forget occured.
