I really like Star Trek a lot and have been a fan since STNG came out. I've taped and collected every episode that I can get my paws on for every series, including Enterprise.

My favorite captain would have to be Picard.  '<img'>

About the only thing I can't stand with all the series is that the crew's are almost always meeting humanoid races that look just like humans except with slight changes to the ears, nose, or some other facial feature. I guess the producers and makeup dept. didn't want to spend the big bucks to bring about more creatures with fangs, tentacles, etc., etc., etc. From what I've noticed (and I could be wrong), 70% of the species the the crews meet are human looking.

However, there is some good news. There are some furs on Star Trek if you look hard enough. Take for example the Selay and the Antican species from the STNG episode, "Lonely Among Us". And if you look hard enough in the Star Trek IV movie during the Federation Council scenes, you will see a cat-like species (with dark brown fur and wearing a Starfleet uniform) sitting on the left side of the council chambers. I think the name of this species are the Caitians, but I'm not sure.

If anybody else knows of any furry species on Star Trek, feel free to chime in.  '<img'>

I really like Enterprise, personally.
Sure, some plots are rather... stretched, and that whole "polarize the hull plating" thing really bugs me (I mean, he's afraid that the ship will get a sunburn or something?!'<img'>, but I really think that it's what it should have been. "First humans in deep space exploration". I mean, they SWEAR! XD
Not your usual "we are holier than thou" stuff. They are humans, whereas you could have put Data instead of Picard, and it wouldn't have made one bit of difference in 95% of the TNG episodes. That whole "Hmmm... They are kicking our butts to next eon, but let's try to reason with them first." thing really got bad and fast. The only time they didn't do that was with the Borg (finally SOME sense...).

Otherwise, TOS was cool.
William... Shatner... Was really... Da man... for the... show.
Heehee

Anyhow, I'm not really into ST anymore tho. Used to be a huge fan, but now, time restrictions in my life make it hard to follow it... Oh well...

Watched all of the series so far though not as good as B5 they are woth while television. Like the TNG however likes the bad guys better than the good uns. Give me the Borg Datas twin and of course Q not bad but still the dam finest character  oh and as Captains go will say Jainway (if its spelt like that which I doubt)

I love to watch any Star Trek series. I loved Voyager because it was the technobabble series and I love technobabble.

My fave captain would be Picard (There.....are.....four.......lights!'<img'>

The best film I think would be Star Trek VI : The Undiscovered Country

I like Enterprise as well. I think it started off slow but it has picked up a lot. There have been some very funny episodes and I love humour. My funniest episode would have to be A Night In Sickbay - 2x05.

hard core trekkie...enough to look specifically for the Klingonâ„¢ dictonayies (which I have).  i also have a zillion models, 50-60 novels...of os DERIVIATION ( i grew up on the Orig Movies).  I wrote a crossover story with WTA for next g...I've seriously considered trek cons...I even bought the parody movie...Galaxy quest.

personally, I think Avery Brooks added something MISSING to Trek...as much as kate Mulgrew's Janeway did.  tough cynical characters, good situations, and "jiggle intrest" a la 7 of 9.  Gene kind of Over Cerebraled Next G.

as for "enterprise"...don't forget, this is the PREQUAL to OS.  I only got to see one episode...about when some of the vulcans crashlanded in the northwest in '57...and had to adopt to life here.  damn, that was a good story

as for B5?  this series, as far as I'm concerned, was Harlan Ellison's revenge on Gene Roddenberry for mucking about with his script for "city on the edge of forever", and then lying his teeth off about it till he died '<img'>  damn well written revenge, too.  hehe :d

I've enjoyed some of the series, but never really followed it all that strongly. I've been to cons that include Trek tracks in them, and I certainly wouldn't call myself a Trekkie. '<img'>

I agree with you, Ulario. Star Wars does rock! Except for Jar Jar Binks, of course. And maybe those furball Ewoks. Why George Lucas had to put them in, I'll never know and maybe I don't want to.  ':p'

The last episode of voyager (with the shields stolen right out of batman) was kinda cool.

Though I watch it if i know its on I'm hardly a major fan. TOS was a little too cheesy, TNG was always trying way too hard to be politically correct. Enterprise is weak and Scot Bakula is a great actor but was the worst possible choice for Archer.

Think DS9 was my favourite!

polarizing could be the first plasma shields using magnetic devices.
its like you put XEON or some plasma gas in the midle of 2 magnetic camps
one positive and one negativ
ethe atraction of the magnetic camps presses the plasma to convert it in almost-solid

or maybe to keep the metal hull thied to itself after the blast
i mean you get hit by a bomb, after the wave, the decompresion would hurt a lot a spaceship
thats why "polarize" would keep the hull pieces togueter

I don't think I know anyone who actually likes Jar Jar... In my opinion, he ruined episode 1 by turning it into a kid's movie.  What's really interisting is to look through the Star Wars Wildlife book if you have the chance.

I've been totally obsessed with Knights of the Old Republic for the past month.  I spent my entire Winter Break playing it.  '<img'>  Right now I'm actually considering doing some KOTOR fan art.

I think I said this somewhere on my forum somewhere ... but Carth Onasi is extremely sexy.  I almost envy my female character 'cuz she ended up with him in the end.  (Don't Tell my mate I said that '<img'> '<img'> '<img'>)

I don't have the Star Wars Wildlife book, but I have seen it in a few bookstores. I'm mostly a techie that enjoys reading about the spacecraft and other technological stuff. As for Star Trek, yeah same thing. I like reading about all the cool starships. The USS Prometheus is my favorite.  ''

True.  But JarJar especially did.  The thing that ticked me off the most is the fact that the gunguns had the potential of being a really cool species, but for some reason, George Lucas likes to make the characters in all of his movies meet the stupid species all the time (the exception being those cool aliens who were doing the Jango Fett clones in episode 2).

Episode 2 was a lot better because you got to see Yoda open up a little green can of whoop arse.  My mate went to see that movie about 5 times in the theatre just to see that one scene.  He loves Yoda, was even thinking about getting a Yoda tattoo on his arm.

Love Star Trek, Love Star Wars. I have a person that's ane Ewok! (j/k, but there's nothing wrong with the ewoks, bold little fighters, and from what I have read, Cheewbacca was originally supposed to have been an Ewok.).

I liked Jar Jar, and let me tell you why. Admittedly, the first time I watched it, he annoyed me, not his bahaviour, just that it took me so long to figure out what he said that I had missed 5 lines of dialogue spoken after that. About half way past through the movie I started ignoring him, problem solved. Then I read about halfway through the book, and saw the movie again, I understood him perfectly, problem resolved again.

Now as to why I like him. Throught the movie, everyone gave the Jedi much respect, either in the form of awe, or of fear, and also held everything they said in high regard (except for Padmay/Amidala), but not Jar Jar, the only reason he had respect for Qui Gon, was because he had earned it (saving JarJar's life). As heralded by the line "Maxi big dis force!" said with much sarcasm, anyway, that's my reason.
