Title: New piece finished, took awhile to make-
Post by: ComposerFox on January 18, 2004, 08:49:45 pm
Well, after quite a few afternoons of barely moving from my computer, I finally finished not too long ago an 11-minute piece written for a large orchestra entitled Pursuit of the Horizon, which was just a couple days ago approved to be posted on my site at Sibeliusmusic.com (http://members.sibeliusmusic.com/jcowing)
If anyone's interested, they can go there to hear the piece & see the score, or if the page doesn't work (it requires a plug-in, some people just like to hear it as a midi file), you can also go to http://romus.xepher.net/cfox/
I'm interested to hear what others think of it- I always appreciate feedback. :D

Well, I really like all of them. Especially the fugue. :)

But you already know what I think. ;)

You know, there's a chance I might get the fugue performed live by a chamber orchestra- wouldn't that be fun? :)

Just finished listening to them, and I enjoyed all of them. I liked the Fugue the most, with Pursuit of the Horizon a close second.

Somehow this song brings back memories... very pleasant ones of a time and place other than this one.

On a technical note.... it's a very rich composition and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I too would like to hear these proformed by a full orchestra.  When that day comes, please find a way to have it recorded for us to hear... or purchase on CD.
