Well, I looked at the moon one night and a vapor trail had crossed it. I was inspired by the way it looked like a scar over a white, unblinking eye. (Just to introduce myself a little bit in the music department, I'm a rock, classical and broadway singer, regional champ. My music is classic rock, like 1970's style, Rush, The Offspring, AFI, Sloan, and See Spot Run.)
Anyhoo, I was thinking of an arpeggiated acoustic guitar sorta thing behind this. Nothing too intrusive. Here goes.
Vapour trails
Scar across the eye of the moon...
Comet tails,
Are so pretty but so few....
chorus
In the cold of the night, deep blue seems so vivid,
And the song of the wolf sings right through,
If I know what's right, then I'll keep on living,
But why am I living without you...
I just do.
And the geese fly south in winter
As protection form the snow,
Me I'll stay here,
And I'll wait for things to grow.
As the seasons fly, the mem'ries slide,
Of things I used to know.
I made a record of that time,
When I thought that you were mine,
But then the sun begins to shine and I get through...
I just do.
*repeat chorus softly*
Vapour trails,
Scar across the eye of the moon...
