Sci-Fi series?

There are very few science fiction series that have lasted for generations. Three of the most popular that have endured for year after year, and decade after decade are:
Star Trek
Star Wars
Dr. Who

These three series have lasted for decades and been the most prominant and widely recognised sci-fi series in the history of television and movies, as well as by sci-fi fans around the world.
In your opinion, which of these three sci-fi series is the greatest and/or which of these three series has had the most cultural impact on society?

Star Trek.
Early series had a black woman, a Russian man and a man from (an unspecified part) of Asia in positions of power and authority when such things were far from the norm in the real world and/or there were tensions between these groups and the average white American male. Huge cultural impact right there.

Star Trek.
The first interracial kiss on prime time TV. The fist to continually preach racial equality. In three years they broke so many boundaries some people threatened to boycott it.  It's hard to believe that I watched this when I was a kid. Didn't realize then what an impact it would have.

Star Trek Though the visuals at the time were designed for the new
tech of color tv. The show was wrapped around the people of the
stories more than the visuals.

As said the balance of culture and race was a new thing for network
tv, and some far right areas blocked one or more of the episodes for
the racial overtones. I think most young people at the time enjoyed the
idea of a future where all peoples can live and work together.

Roddenberrys  Star Trek was the first real si fi show that ran past the old
B class of movies of space travel. Before they were all about monsters,
space wars and flying saucers. This show tried to show a future of
man in space even though it was rather tidy for real life.

Farscape

I liked the premise of farscape. Also the dirt cheap effects made you focus on the plot and use your imagination, rather than try to hold your attention with fantastic scenery and cool explosions.

I liked the premise of farscape. Also the dirt cheap effects made you focus on the plot and use your imagination, rather than try to hold your attention with fantastic scenery and cool explosions.

The SFX (Special Effects) in Farscape may have been simpler when compared to Star Trek or Star Wars stuff, but I'd hardly call them "dirt cheap". What made Farscape a good series was it's originality and creative storytelling.

Now if you want "dirt cheap" effects, then the sci-fi B grade movies from the 1940's to the 1970's is about as cheap as you can get.

I was thinking more of the "Alien planet" clearly being a forest completely spray painted with water-soluble blue paint... to the point where you could see it dripping off things.
