Furry Music Video in the Making
« on: May 04, 2005, 11:14:01 pm »
I'm going to make a music video on Furry Media... It's going to be mainly pictures, I've found some music that I wanted.. Orbital.

But I don't know how to go about it, or even what to put in it...
But I have a lot of room and I'm going to see how much permission I can get and stuff...

I have an Idea
    A mix of
       -Convention Pictures/movies
       -G-Rated art
       -Covers of good furry comics
       -Pictures/movies of people acting furry
Furry Code        =^_^=

I'm not sure I understand here.  You're going to put furry scenes to copyrighted commercial songs?  Isn't that ... illegal?

When I saw the topic, I thought you meant you were a musician going to create original music that is furry themed or at least make the video "furry" set to that original music.

I don't think it's illegal,.
You could convert it to flash and send it to Newgrounds, then it is legal for sure.

I hope you are joking.

Its illegal to redistribute copyrighted works, such as music without the creator's permission which generally involves royalties ... this includes incorporating even part of one work with an original piece (like a commercial artist's song with your animation).

Artists and the RIAA haven't been doing squat about it, they're more focused on destroying P2P and MP3s it seems, but legally they could take newgrounds down or at least all of the animations it contains that include copyrighted music.

Well, I've seen quite a few animations there that use the music without permission, many of them pretty popular ones.

Yes, and I've also seen a lot of pirated MP3s.  Doesn't make them legal.  Illegal redistribution of copyrighted works are illegal, whether its in MP3 or in an animation.
