oh yeah mine are sharp and pointy right now  '<img'>  short nails are so gross, looks all stubby and sick... but hey thats my opinion.

i never bite them, but i do kind of run them in between my teeth if you get my drift, seems to make them sharper.. i had to cut them about 2 months ago cause i ended up spearing a set of bed sheets in a motel but thankfully there back now.

where does one get this stuff that makes your nails grow faster  ':cool:'

I hate it when my nails get long :X When I realize they do, I can scarcely think of anything else until I can find me some clippers. I don't bite them, firstly because I think it's gross :S and secondly because my teeth can't cut, clean, and file quite like my trusty clippers ^^

I grow my nails but they never get much longer than 1cm before they break.  I don't sharpen them though, they do the job just fine without that.

i bite mine alot. but i play bass, so they would get in the way if i didnt bite or trim them often.

A million years ago when I was in the 8th grade, for Halloween, I filed my nails to points. It was in 2000 or something. I know it was the year that 9-11 happened because it did when I was in History that year. But ANYWAY, I waited and waited for them to grow and upon that special day I went about terrorizing my fellow pupils. What's fun is to suddenly flash them at people. Friend a' mine, Charlie, said it looked like they grew. Twas funny.

The rest of the time, I'm guilty as sin when it comes to chewing on them. OMNOM.

I file my nails into claws all the time. My nails are tough as, er, well, nails... So they stay that way. I've permanently scarred two of my friends, and I can punch holes in pop cans with my thumbs.  '<img'>

I put nutranail stuff on my nails to make them grow but once they get long then when I put work gloves over my paws then they start to break and once in a while I like to pick at them so I would like to grow my nails and when they get long enough I would file them until they get a sharp point

I do tend to let mine grow until they start to get in the way, but not really for any furry reasons. Of of my many gripes about my brother when were were younger was that he would keep every set of nail clippers we had among his private possessions (like his underwear) so my options were to either bite them (which isn't easy with an overbite like mine) or put off trimming them until later. Now I just put it off more or less because I've gotten used to having them like that.

Either that or everybody thinks my nails are extra long because I have really small hands. ':blush:'

they just don't. I did try to grow my nails out for a bit, i just let them grow, watching every day in the mirror. At first they grew explosively, and then, when they reached about .75 cm of white, they just stopped.  I waited for months. (yes i measured with a ruler) but they just didn't grow.

My nails grow rediculously fast, but I can't stand having them much past the tips of my fingers.

If I even make an attempt at letting them get long, I pay for it. They're thin and weak, which translated into bending and ripping (ouch). That is, they rip if they don't decide to retain their bent shape. Not only that, but they're sharp as hell, and I always end up cutting myself with them. Even when they're short. So, I really have to choice but to bite them. If I clip them, the cut is too clean and leaves them perfect for slicing -_-

Who's never dreamed of having long, sharpened nails? (for show or otherwise... hehe.) I have naturally long nails and have always wanted to try that one time... but those skool officals whould have somthin to say about it... not to mention unintentional damage inflicted on myslelf or my buds o.O

^^ Its not something that you can help... if you start biting a nail, you can't stop until its completely ruined.

Mine are still growing. The good thing is, after you've gotten them to a purr-fect point you don't need to do it again. The worst injury I've inflicted upon myself with them is... well, I tried to scratch the inside of my ear, and completely forgot my nails were sharp and stuff... punctured the skin on the inside of the ear, bled for hours. I tend to keep my hands like fists so they're pointing away from everything now. The goth orgy at school are all trying to copy me now.

I've never done a full set of sharpened nails, but I usually grow out at least one nail, really long. It's my "killing claw" (which is what they called a Utahraptor's main claw.) I'd grow out all of my nails but well...I'm kind of a nervous person. I wash my hands to the point where they're chapped, and pick at my nails too much, (I blame the anxiety problem).

My nails are always on the longe side, not like fake nail long or anything, maybe 3mm past the end of my finger. The rule I like to use is: If I can't use them as a screwdriver, then they're too short. My grandpa does the same thing, actually. I did actually sharpen them one time, and it was cool for about a day, but it felt wierd to be able to cut leather( ':shock:' ) so I clipped them. Also, the bus driver didn't like me cutting up the seats. '<img'>  Plus, I can't clip my nails more than about 1mm behind the edge of my finger before I start bleeding, and they grow back all the way in a week, so I don't really have a choice. I'm too lazy. '<img'>  I also can't open a soda can with them short, In fact, how the heck does anyone open a soda without using their nails?................Thats a serious question.

I did have mine pointy at one time but then one broke. I have to have them all the same length or it bugs me. I cut them, and now I'm waiting for my nails to grow back so I can sharpen them again.

oh man this kid at my school filed his nails like this, everyone laughed at him and made stories about how he was part of a cult.

Turns out he was doing it for guitar because he dosen't use a pick.

Me too and that's too bad... But, each sides of each nails are very  sharp, so the flesh around is always bleeding, and this is VERY painful. And after, the dead flesh start to fall, and... that's very strange...

i was wearing fake nails the normal way but ive been thinking about sharpening them to a point
