ok thanks

Think i'll look right away, and see if they have any. Well look for a wolf tale, bear tails would be unnoticeable, and i would want something that stood out lol.

I can now say with absolute certainty that the Zoo is the best non-convention place to wear a tail. I had mine on when we went to the San Diego Zoo yesterday, and responses were pretty positive (a little girl thought it was real, an enthusiastic zoo employee loved it, and some kids wanted to know where I got it. And then there's the horde of little kids that just liked seeing it). Good stuff.

It's nice when people don't hassle you for wearing a tail in public. I haven't wore mine out and about in a long time. Last thing I need is some immature ignorant people hassling me and my mate for wearing a tail when they are wearing their pants (with a belt) down around their knees.  I see nothing wrong with wearing a tail or ears. I used to wear my old set of ears religiously.

I had a similar experience at Ft Worth.  The mom that said 'we shoulda brought our tails with us for the kids to wear' warmed my heart :)

Might as well cross-post this to this thread... don't know why I didn't do this earlier :P

I saw a pair of furs wearing tails at the Surfside Arcade in Rehoboth Beach on Sunday night... one of the cashiers also said he saw them there on Monday midday.  Are you guys on here?  Speak up if you are!  Always excited to meet new furs in real-world-space ^_^

I finally made my own (rather pathetic) tail.   I haven't worn it out in public yet though. I can already hear the comments:  "Why is there a piece of cloth hanging off your butt?"   :D

Maybe I'll make a better looking one before venturing outside. :-[

I want to make another tail in the future that I'll wear around college. My room mate will probably also want a tail. So I guess I have to make two? I've already worn my collar around and no one cared. I'll make it by Halloween and just wear it then on :3

Before I transferred colleges, I wore a funfur black tail around ALL the time. No one cared. Eventually everyone ignored it like I was just the eclectic tail and collar wearer over in the corner.

Sometimes wearing your tail in public can get a bit freaky though. I wore my to the mall, and while i was at the book store was surrounded by a bunch of kids. Luckily I had my firned with me, but it was still freaky because they were rather harassing......anyways other than that I wear my tail everywhere still. Except school, that would be m urder.

awwww souround Kitty, thats not very nice. I'd just beat them up if they messed with me, but thats just me. only reason why i don't stuff like that, is cause me alone.  :'( no other furs that i know of, being singular to start out, would just kill half the fun.

I would but I was badly outnumbered. Like, 6 to one. 0.o and they looked about junior/senior age and I was a freshman at the time. >.< Ah well though. The only other thing that happens is that little kdis pull it, but then I just hiss at them and they scatter. XD But yah I don't pick fights, especially when the odds are unfair.  (:

I could really have used this information two weeks ago... I work in a video game resale shop y'know. Those little buggers can be quite mean when you tell them you're sold out of Mario Kart for the Wii and that he never came to the Playstation...

God... I'm still having nightmares....the claws... the little fangs... MAKE IT STOP!! :o :'( x_x

I made a tail earlier this year, but I'm too afraid to wear it for fear of getting it dirty or wet. :( (I tend to run around in the street and in parks just after or while it is raining and I don't want to splash it with mud.) And I'd hate to lose it or break it, either by having someone grab it and rip it off or just through natural wear and tear. I dress so weirdly anyway that I'm pretty used to receiving unwanted attention, so having people comment wouldn't phase me... I'm just too attached to the thing to risk damaging it. >:(

Wearing a tail in public? You've guys got guts. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to the idea, but still.

mmhm, soft definatly, but I wouldn't aggree with it, just not my style... >.>

As soon as I get a tail, I'd probably go out wearing it with my friends and take my recorder to see if I can catch some people's reactions on audio tape. :)

What would you think if you saw someone wearing a tail at a more professional job? Say, as a secretary for a doctor's office? *cough* *cough* :P

If I personally saw it? I'd give it a thumbs up and a smile.

Now, if a slightly more sane person were to see it, then who knows. The one of the better things about tails, though, is that depending on how you approach someone, they can't see it until you turn around to leave. The benefit of this is they get a chance to meet you, find you're a smart and nice person, and nothing wrong with you. Helps as a set up.

Plus, secretaries are usually behind those big desks and sitting down, so no one would see it and be spooked (customers, at least). Little kids would probably love it, which would be great for calming them down in the waiting room (which is always a scary place).

Now that I have a tail, I wear it out and about as much as possible. But it's kind of bulky so it does get in the way sometimes. I really haven't gotten a lot of comments about it actually. When I get my next tail (a big purple, black and white one), I might get a little more attention. Especially if I wear it around campus. I really just need to invest in a smaller tail (or make my own) so that it doesn't get in the way so much.

I wore ears and a tail once to cosplay as an anthropomorphic cat character from a world I'd made up, when I was 10 or so. I wore some kind of sci-fi getup to go along with it, and carried a Lazer Tag blaster. I don't think anyone but my friend had any clue what I was.

Later on as a teenager I wore a (rather low-key) Star Fox flight jacket to a class. After somebody mocked me for it I never did that again.
