How to kill norton?

I don't like Norton. Never have, never will. My computer finally got to the point of utter fail and I was forced to format it. Now there's Norton in my little task bar eating up my space and doing me no good.

I'm logged in under administrator and yet when I try to remove it through the add/remove program it says I need administrator access. I tried simply killing its process in my processes list but it never seems to go away no matter how many times I tell it to do so.

Does anyone remember the way to the list of programs that start with you comp? Maybe if I can block it there then I'll be free to remove it when it's not running?

Ah yes! Go to run (that's in the start button at the bottom left, but I'm sure you knew that, so I'll stop sounding like a jerk talking to a 2-year old). and type in

And of course from there (I'm sure you know this too, but just to be 100% safe and certain) jump over to the "Startup" tab, and well, I'm sure you definitely know what to do from here.

You've got to be careful with Norton. It's a complete PAIN to remove. I've had to reformat 5 pc's because it dug itself in so much and messed up the Hard drives 

A friend of mine did remove it only to find it was still blocking stuff! (No idea how). So It's best to turn everything it does off BEFORE removing it incase this happens.
