Alt text is in small bunched up box

The dimensions of the alt-text box are ridiculously small length-wise and ridiculously large height-wise. First noticed it today just a few minutes before the server went down.

oh, like, if you go to the index page, and then hover over the title of the most recent post in one of the boards as shown in the right most column, it displays the whole name of the thread, but it does so in a strange, tall alt text box as opposed to one of more reasonable dimensions.


--edit -- just realized its happening on other sites... x_x

Mind putting this in the tech forum then?

You mean title-text, not alt-text. Text links don't have alt-text, for reasons which ought to be obvious. (And if you are seeing alt-text, it might be time to upgrade your browser. :D)

At this point I'm willing to bet it's your browser be it a setting or bug. I've never encountered this issue before on FF or Opera =X

XKCD also uses title-text, not alt-text. Why would you even think that...? What, are you using IE6 or something? :o

Returning to the topic at hand, most browsers (and it would help if you specified which one you're using) display title-text as a tool-tip, the size of which is normally controlled by the window manager (or operating system, for bogus systems which don't make a distinction). Do tool-tips in other programs display normally? Or is it just your browser?

Oh, I meant that although it actually is title text, everyone abbreviates it as alt txt... its shorter than title txt, and it flows better than ttl txt >.>

But yeah, it only seems to be in firefox. But I didn't touch any settings (unless I did some hotkey thing while banging away frustratedly while my keyboard was lagging for no apparent reason >.<) >.>

I'm pretty sure Firefox has no settings that would mess with the title-text display. What version and OS are you using?

restarting it? No way am I doing that until I actually need to X_x

I was just wondering if this was a known issue for anyone & if anyone knew how to fix it off hand. Otherwise I just will ignore it until I actually have to restart it (And then would upgrade it as well at that time)
