Made a thing.
It's been done before. Like most of what I do.
It's able to remote control things over radio. Basic but very dependable. Good for turning on or off objects, or even kicking off a script on computer etc.
Also could be used 2 way. Meaning the thing talks back to me. I could use it to tell me status of vehicle when it is parked at a trail head and I'm away. Basically either it could periodically send me a code meaning good or bad. Or I could ask it for a response. Either way I mad a dependable low bandwidth 2 way data link for cheap.
May use it to turn on Christmas lights next time, from across the town.
No internet needed.
I am a ham radio operator so I can legally do this within the bounds of said hobby. So far I used 0.5 watt of power, so... nothing really. But this is for testing and not much is needed to prove the concept and I don't want it to go far...yet!
I also washed the garage door outside. Yes I did that.
What a difference, it's white as fresh snow now!
