To be fair, when you're going 60 mph, you're covering over 80 feet a second. Any second your eyes are blinked, your windshield's blocked, or you're distracted, that's 80 possibilities to hit a deer, or an elk, or a moose, which can seriously screw up your day or kill you. Moose can grow to 7-8 feet tall, and weigh up to a 3/4 ton. It's pretty much the elephant of the Americas. I'm not planning on running that risk any time soon, and depending on where you live better windshield wipers can help that.
