Have you ever eaten or volunteered at one?

Due to financial stress, I recently gave in and ate at one, it's a place where they serve everyone, I'm not sure how other ones are.

The place is called The lords diner, and is ran by a Catholic ministry, it's about the size of a small restaurant, it's only open for two hours.

I went in and signed in, which is just really a few questions for data, such as race, age, and gender.

It was nice, the volunteers were very nice, and they have random meals, but this time it was an apple, some kind of broccoli/potato soup, green beans, a bag of chips, something random from QT (Chicken salad wraps), and a brownie (but you can choose a cookie instead if you want), tonight was a taco salad and a brownie.

Plus water, tea, or coffee with a few refills.

There was one person who had the nerve to complain about not being served tea, he even started cussing a little, the nerve of some people!

Not to mention he was upset that all they had was a chicken wrap instead of a sandwich, and no soup.

I'm sitting there thinking "C'mon man, are you serious? You aren't even paying a dime for this meal! You have no right to complain, be thankful it's not one small bowl of soup and then being told to get out."

Thankfully I saw my uncle there so it was less awkward, not to mention the weird guy cussing and complaining left shortly after.

I'll admit, I had to swallow my pride at first, but in reality, nobody's above free food.

Plus, I shouldn't have had that kind of attitude when the churches I've gone to have fed the congregation after, usually for free.

Meh, I'll tell you this though, once I get back on my feet I'm going to volunteer there, and donate when I can.

I kinda wanna make a list, but doing a simple search will do the trick.

Trump Day 127
Our man Trump's son n law is reported to asking the Russian
ambassador for a secure line to the Russian government. To
keep it private. Perhaps it was just lack of experience or
was it intentionally wanting to keep a converstation secret
from the US government. I think if you or I had done this we
would looking at prison time. So it will be interesting to
see what happens. His security clearance should be pulled if
nothing else.

I imagine Trump will make excuses for his son n law. Though
there may be some back room teling him to be more careful.

This and other business the Trump administration has had with
Russia screams secracy. So what are they trying to hide? Is it
just money matters, or if it's something illegal like money
laundering? The federal country club jail may have some new
members. I am not sure even the GOP would try to protect all
those envolved.

Congressional investiaating committees are asking for all papers
from the Trump administration all the way back to the beginning
of the Trump campaign. Even though the GOP is still trying to
stall and make excuses with each new suspision.

During the Nato meeting Trump elbowed his way to the front sso
he could be seen during a press briefing. Treating other members
with a lack of respect. He should have made clear we would stand
with the other members if attacked, but he didn't. Nato stood with
us after 911 by goint to Afganistan and fighting along side our
troops. Was this because of Trumps connection with Russia? Only
Trump can say.

Trumps supporters might like his bluster, but respect is the name of
the game when talking to other countries. Especially those who are
our friends. Trump needs to learn this.

Trump continues to hide from the press. His claims the press is
bad is unamerican. His supporters should want to know what Trump
is up to. Not just say I am sure he is doing a good job. Trump should
have denouced the attack on the reporter by the GOP canidate in
Montana. People want their freedom os peech. They should demand
accountability from thos in government. The GOP never has liked the
press because they see it as affiliated with the left or democrats.

GOP
Is the GOP like Nero who fiddled while Rome burned? Seems like they
don't care what Trump does as long as they can cut taxes for their
very rich supporters.

GOP supporters may think attacking the press is a good thing. I think
they would feel differently if they had to accept new laws out of the
blue. With no acccountability.

The press shouldn't be expected to spin news to make one party or the
other look good, but the GOP thinks they should for them and not the
democrats. When they don't the GOP attacks the press verbally and  even
physically.

Without a free press president Nixon would have gotten away with his
obstruction of justice . Perhaps those in the GOP think he should have
gotten away  with it. I don't know, but if we allow our leaders to break
the law it will lead to anarchy.

I want to thank those of our military for their service and sacrifice
on this comming Memorial day.

Read all the books. Absolutely loved them. Remain one of my favourite series. Don't own the books any more - My parents gave them away when I moved to uni.
Seen the first series of the TV show. Honestly didn't think it was that great. Too many deviations from the book. Alright if you hadn't read the books, but not amazing if you were a huge fan of them.
Not really fussed if they make a film of it or not. I doubt it will happen though.

Any Redwall fans here? Raise your paw.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redwall

I tried to get started into the Redwall book series long ago, but it didn't last very long. I had 4-5 books, but didn't get very far in reading them.  :( Maybe at some point in the future, I'll try to get back into them again if I can.

For now though, I recently checked out the complete Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of the Redwall animated tv series from my local library and have been watching that. Seasons 1 and 2 are done, so now I just have #3 left to watch.

Anybody else a fan of Redwall? Have you read all the books and/or watched the tv series? What are your thoughts? What are your favorite books, stories, characters, etc.?

And here's something interesting I just read tonight:

https://moviepilot.com/posts/3791567

I don't know about anybody else, but I am particuarly interested in seeing feature length movies made of the Redwall and Mattimeo books. And if successful, I think more movie adaptations could be done with other book titles. Only companies I can think of that could produce a movie series like this might be Disney and/or Pixar. And the animation/CGI would need to be spectacuarly photorealistic too.
In my opinion, Redwall is long overdue to be made into a film series. In an age where all Hollywood cares about is reboot, reboot, and more reboots, or making more "sequels and prequels", I think Redwall would offer some fresh new storytelling to audiences everywhere.  :) I would certainly rather see a new Redwall movie instead of another Fast and Furious #10 movie or another Jurassic Park #5 movie, etc., etc.  :P

Well, not always 200 years actually. Not even close.

Arena was set in 3E 399.
Daggerfall was set in 3E 405 - 6 years after Arena. (Daggerfall also officially ended 12 years later, in 417).
Morrowind was in 3E 427 - 22 years after Daggerfall started.
Oblivion in 3E 433 - 6 years after Morrowind.

Skyrim broke the trend by being 201 years after Oblivion.
[/qoute]

Yeah, it was just general. I didn't know about Arena lr Daggerfells times but I had a general idea of the years. Skyrim had the biggest gap though. Makes me wonder if ESIV could possibly take place before skyrim. Very Improbable though.

And then you have Redguard and Elder Scrolls Online. Both being set in 2E, about 400 years before Arena. And there is a lot of debate about when Battlespire was set, so I won't even try and explain that one. But the vast majority of games (especially as some do not consider ESO to be canon - I think they are wrong, it is canon, like it or not) are clumped close together.

The thought of ESO being canon gives me creeps as I personally dont like ESO. I won't dismiss the possible fact that it is though. x_x

Indeed.

I also know they have '2 other project' they said they were working on. Probably different branches but it still might slow development of TESVI. I wouldn't get too impatient. It's going to be a while especially if they try to make it bigger than Skyrim AND if they are working on other projects.

Bethesda seems to deliver what they announce well. So I wouldn't worry too much about it's quality.

I think Loc nailed the sequel part. It probably won't be a direct sequel as each ES has its own story that is set about 200 years apart from one another give or take some decades.

It's hard to believe it's been 40 years.

I remember when the first Star Wars movie came out. Trouble was
the closest theater showing it was 100 miles away. So never got to
see it till it was on TV. In fact I haven't seen any of the Star Wars
movies except on the small screen.  19"  I haven't been to a movie
theater since the mid 1960's. My vision would make going a waste
of money now days.

I often wondered how much difference the big screen makes for a
movie like Star Wars. I never cared much for crowds, that's one
reason I quit going to the theater.
