This song reminds me of when I was a cub! Which songs of the 80s do you love?
I also love "This Ol' House" and others by Shakin' Stevens and loads more which I can't name at the mo cos I can't remember 'em!

Billy Joel rocks! So does Queen. I love their song "Seven Seas of Rhye," but really, you can't go wrong with anything Queen.

Other than that, as some furs can tell you, I'm not tremendously fond of anything 80s, LOL.

Man, there was so much 80's music I loved as a child.  80's was great for music, but bad for fashion.

Hehe well I was born in 1986, so I don't remember all that much from the 80's, but I definitely like some of the music from that time. '<img'>

Mainly Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Queen, Duran Duran, and The Misfits

I like tons of music from the 80s. My favorites are:

Keep Feeling Fascination - Human League
I Ran So Far Away - Flock of Seagulls
Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran
It's My Life - Talk Talk
Opportunities - Pet Shop Boys
Der Kommissar - After the Fire
Land of Confusion - Genesis
All She Wants to do is Dance - Don Henley
Sunday Bloody Sunday - U2
Head Like a Hole - Nine Inch Nails
Blue Monday - New Order
Tom Sawyer - Rush

I enjoy driving my 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood while listening to the above for added benefit.

Most people think of synthpop, punk and heavy metal when they think of the 80's and sure that stuff is great no doubt, but I like to think of some other genres that got there starts in that era, namely house and techno.

some of my favorite classics are:
Mr. Fingers - Can You Feel It
Raze - Break For Love
A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray
Acid Trax - Phuture
Marshall Jefferson - Move Your Body
Ten City - That's The Way Love Is
Africa Bambaataa - Planet Rock
Inner City - Good Life
M.A.A.R.S. - Pump Up The Volume
Orbital - Little Fluffy Clouds
Bam Bam - Where's Your Child
Miss Nicky Trax - Acid In The House
Lords Of Acid - I Sit On Acid
Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam
Adonis - No Way Back

Is anyone familiar with Neil Young's "Trans?"  It's very heavy on synthesizers and voice modification, yet is still Neil Young through and through.  It's what lost him a lot of critical acclaim, but I watched him doing the Trans songs on a video from a concert in Berlin and it was pretty cool stuff.

Some of the stuff I liked:

Human League
The Smiths
The Pretenders
Pet Shop Boys
Erasure
Technotronic
New Order
Inner City - Good Life
Orbital - Little Fluffy Clouds
Some Madonna stuff (Material Girl, Like a Virgin, Live to Tell, Borderline, Papa don't preach, etc)
The Cure
Some of the Communards stuff
Some of Bronski Beat (Small Town Boy)
Some Happy Mondays
Prince (1999, Controversy, Little Red Corvette, Alphabet Street, When Doves Cry, Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy, You've Got The Look, among others)
Some stuff by Wham
I loved the video for Take On Me and the song wasn't too bad, but I always preferred The Sun Always Shines On TV by A-Ha.
Some Duran Duran (like Girls On Film, View To A Kill, Planet Earth, Hungry Like The Wolf, Save A Prayer)
Yazoo
Depeche Mode

Some of the stuff I totally hated:

Thompson Twins
T'Pau
Modern Romance
Flock of Seagulls (sorry Ulario '<img'>  )
Heaven 17
Haircut 100
Nik Kershaw
And all the rest that I've for some reason erased from my memory due to them being so bad!  '<img'>

I always liked new wave from the 80's (all time favorite is Talking Head's Burning Down the House) for some reason lol that and "hair bands" and hard rock bands like ACDC, Van Halen, Queen etc.

I also liked to, and often listened to, early rap in the late 80's and early 90's as a kid. MC Hammer was me favorite of course. This was before people told me I can't like that stuff because I'm white O_o whatever...

My music tastes are well and truly stuck in the 80s. Let's see now, I like...

AC/DC
Blue Oyster Cult
Boston
Bruce Springsteen
Whitesnake
Rainbow
Bad Company
Bachman-Turner Overdrive
The Blues Brothers
Def Leppard
Electric Light Orchestra
Foreigner
Motorhead
Iron Maiden
Jackson Browne

and so on....

Not bad for someone born in '87 eh?

I have a perverted love for cheesy 80's synthpop. Whilst the tradition did somewhat continue to the mid-90's in the form of eurodance, the stuff then doesn't really beat the cheesy wonders of 80's stuff. You Spin Me Round, What a Feeling, I Should Be So Lucky, Giorgio Moroder stuff etc etc...

Otherwise I'm not a huge fan of 80's because I personally think that rock music took a big dip back then, mainly because of the new production gimmicks that may have worked for synthy pop, but not for rock.

However, there are some 80's bands, or bands that started in the 80's, that I do very much like. Rock or not. Pet Shop Boys is excellent stuff, Red Hot Chili Peppers started in the 80's and had two good albums during that decade, I have a hate-love affair with The Smiths. Then there's some artists who didn't flunk in the 80's; Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel mainly.

But overall, I mainly like 80's for the classic pop songs instead of whole albums or artists.
