every forum needs something on this...
my music testes are so varied it's untrue, but my fav bands are...
super furry animals (a welsh psychedelic rock band, and i don;t just like them cause of the name lol) adhesive (a sweetish political/melodic punk band) alien ant farm (american rock band) zeromancer (scandinavian industrial metal music) the typewriter romantics (the two guitarists from adhesive are currently doing this acoustic project) gay dad (british indie band) angel hair (hardcore emo/noise act from usa somewhere)

My main genre is alt-rock/pop-rock/and-so-on-rock. Really like the lyrics, drums, and (mainly) the guitars that go into this genre of music. Really love bands like Oasis (best band in the world ), blink-182 and all it's children (BCR, +44, and AVA), R.E.M., and many more. Also (and this is more recent) I've gotten into more electronic/rave music. DJs like Andy Hunter for the electric stuff (plus some occasional Daft Punk and Scooter), and artists like GMS and Scarf! to satisfy my raving need.

Most musical genres I like fall into the category of either metal or electronic; these would be black metal (mostly just Burzum and Immortal, though), industrial, power metal, doom metal, death metal, gabber, hardstyle, psytrance, nu metal, and digital hardcore. Some of the artists/bands I like include Koяn, Angerfist, Atari Teenage Riot, Swallow The Sun, Blutonium Boy, Dragonforce, Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, Sepultura, Rabbit Junk, Angelspit, Velvet Acid Christ, Infected Mushroom, Marilyn Manson, Children of Bodom, and Venetian Snares.

I don't have a favorite artist, band, song, etc. I just listen to whatever puts me in a good mood.
Although, I do love listening to film and anime music soundtracks.

I listen to just about anything outside of commercial rap and most 'pop' music. I guess i'll toss down some albums that I own or plan to own and the artists to give ya guys an idea. Pat Metheny- "Imaginary Day"- Amazing contemporary jazz guitarist. Robert Schumann- Rudu Lupu's recording of some of his major piano works, haven't listened through all the way yet. Freya- "As the last light drains"- Hardcore band formed by members of Earth Crisis. Pretty awesome as well, good message, good music, good times . Rush- "Snakes and Arrows"- Very VERY highly recommended album. Neils lyrics are beautiful and the music is awe inspiring. Fugazi- "The Argument"- Very good alternative 'rock' album. It really captures some of the big problems in our society, but then again, what do you expect from the legendary Ian Mackaye? (Hope to own soon) Bill Miller- "The Red Road"- Very awesome native american musician and artist. Has some very moving work that everyone should hear. Two Gallants- "Two Gallants"- Delta blues band turned pseudo rock band. Very awesome sound, very influential lyrics. I'll leave it at that for now, now back to perusing this thread for ideas on music to look up...

Just missing a few studio albums Another few albums i've been listening to are: Red Hot Chili Peppers- "Californication" Thrice- "The Alchemy Index: Vol. 3 & 4": Personally, I think the earth and air volumes (3 and 4) are the best, although the rest of their music is excellent as well. Pink Floyd- I've always loved "Any Colour You Like" and the rest of their music is awesome as well. I need more Floyd...lol

I basically listen to everything, excluding rap. Rock, classical, soft rock, metal, drum-and-bass, techno/electronica, pretty much anything. Some of my current favorite bands are Dragonforce, (power metal,) Pendulum, (drum-and-bass,) Fairyland, (symphonic power metal,) Ensiferum, (Finnish power metal,) and Benny Benassi, (techno,) though I'll listen to just about anything. I'm not too picky.

I listen to all sorts of stuff. I even like a little of both rap and country. OOH, PARADOX. *laugh* My main tastes tend to fall toward indie/alternative rock, sometimes a little on the emo side.
Catatonia Guster Death Cab for Cutie Dashboard Confessional Taylor Swift Bree Sharp JamisonParker Fergie
That's a little of it.

There are only a few kinds of music I'm not into. I'm not into 99.99% of hip-hop or rap. I'm not into most mainstream Christian music. I'm ambivalent about country music. But here, let me link to a whole lot of music I DO like: My profile on PandoraShare and enjoy!

I mainly listen to metal. Lots of black metal (mainly stuff like Abruptum, Emit, Nortt), death metal (like Soulside Journey-era Darkthrone, Autopsy and similar bands), Doom metal (lots of funeral doom such as Skepticism, lots of drone like Khanate, lots of sludge such as Noothgrush, Burning Witch and Year of No Light, plenty of death/doom too) and a little bit of thrash (Heathen, mainly). My tastes are very eclectic within the metal subgenres, but once I venture out I only like a few bands such as Rhino Bucket and Elend.

I'm all over the place, so I guess I could say I'm eclectic.
Very into 60s music like the Beatles, Mamas & Papas, Simon & Garfunkle, and Janis Jopplin, but I don't limit my interests.
Faves also include Queen, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, Enya, Electric Light Orchestra, various musicals & anime soundtracks (especially the Lion King on Broadway, FLCL, and Macross 7), and my latest favorite CD is from the Brian Setzer Orchestra (Wolfgang's Big Night Out).

Showtunes. Really, 80% of the time, I'm listening to showtunes. I'm pretty picky about my showtunes, as I'm kind of an elitist when it comes to musicals, but showtunes nonetheless.
Aside from that, classic rock from the '60s and '70s, a fair amount of indie rock, hip hop/R&B, various forms of pop all the way from the '80s until today, classical, and occasionally music (traditional or otherwise) from other countries.
I'm not a big fan of heavy metal or electronic music. No, not at all, I would say.

Hmm, I'm not really loyal to any genre in particular.
Some of my favorite groups are: Daft Punk, Incubus, System of a Down, Muse, Orgy, Nine Inch Nails, Mindless Self Indulgence, Blink-182, No Doubt, They Might be Giants and so on...
I'm a big fan of hardcore/hardstyle dance music (closet happy hardcore admirer) and love hard house
My friends are japanese club kids, so I get a taste of all sorts of interesting things haha
