Furtopia emergency repair
« on: March 30, 2004, 09:35:36 pm »
There was a system outage that lasted 60-70 min today starting at around 7:45PM EST.  A RAM modual in Furtopia's primary server went bad.  Continued use with bad ram can cause hard drive coruption so we imeaditly started the swap.  The long delay afterwards was a scan of the hard disk to catch any damaged data for replacement.

Sorry folks hardware issues happen.  I am planing to make some changes in case an issue like this happens in the future.  I cam reconfiguring our backup server to take over to prevent an extended outage.  We do also keep a redundent backup of all Furtopia critical files.

This has been a message from your local machanic work dog!

I was wondering what happened. Glad it was taken care of with no permanent damage.

I also noticed that last night I couldn't broadcast on the radiostation. I'm not sure if they are related, however.
