1st digitized tablet art piece!
« on: November 02, 2004, 10:09:42 pm »
I posted this in my forum but since I have questions, I thought this would also be a good place to post it. Not sure I will keep it but will see.

I was suprised to be given a new 'toy' from WS today! Here is the first result. It will definitely take me some getting used to as I usually look down at my paper when I draw. With this digitizing pad, I have to look at the monitor. (smiles)

For a larger image click here.

Ok, for those of you that use the drawing pads I have a couple of questions.

I keep trying to get my 'pen' centered back on the tablet but it won't allow me to. If I want to click something on the left side in PSP5 I have to basically take the 'pen' all the way to the left of my pad.

I'm also trying to figure out how to click on the 'background' color in my PSP and it will only put my color on the 'foreground' square.

I also have to go ALL over the pad to get to where I want and that gets a bit irritating, hence wanting to center the pen after lifting it up off the pad. Otherwise, no matter what it always takes me back to where ever I last put down the pen.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I can see that 'supposedly' folks are responding but I'm not seeing the responses. '<img'> I will tell Benjamin that something seems amiss.

It looks great, Kada-Ru. WS is getting you all sorts of new toys lately- he must want that fursuit REALLY bad   '<img'>
I've noticed the "ghost posting" before, a few times it's shown me making the post but the post itself doesn't show up. It did this on you yesterday in  Furtopia Art for Kids Community Project, it showed you making a post but nothing new showed untill WS posted. I just fiquire it's a 'puter thing, you know they have to drive us crazy somehow!

(giggles) I don't mind the ghosts visiting and reading and such but they are going to get on my bad side if they keep hiding members posts from one another!! '<img'>

Nice drawing, it took me a little while to get used to a tablet pen. Now its all that I use. Its hard to make clean lines, but it looks like you have the hang of it. I think the problem with your tablet not being centered easily (if I understand you correctly), can be fixed in your tablet driver settings. I'm not sure what brand tablet you have, but I have a wacom and there is a setting you can change to fix it. Find the setup program for your tablet (for me its in Start > Programs > Wacom Tablet), once you open that program look for an option called Pen Mode and enable it. I think yours is set to Mouse Mode which makes it not centered to where you pen is relative to your tablet.

I'm not totally sure if this is your problem, but it seems like it to me. It might be different depending on the brand of tablet you have.

Good luck, I hope this helps!

It's a Medion. I tried the ideas that you posted here but then I ended up with ALL kinds of things open that I had no idea what they were or even how to get rid of them! I finally figured out how to get rid of them though. (smiles) WS was saying I have to recenter my mouse to get the pen to be back centered otherwise if I'm at the top of the sketch, it is way off the page in the program.

I will wait for WS to help me again. (smiles) Thanks for your suggestions though!
