Any good gun drawing tutorials?
« on: September 11, 2005, 04:23:09 pm »
I have no idea where to start when drawing guns, so if anyone knows of any decent tutorials, that would be a big help. I've never drawn them before... but I think I'm gonna need to for a couple of my requests. +_+

'' tutorials, dont think youll find any, i know theyre a pain. best i can say is get some pics and draw what you see, depending on where you live. you maybe able to find so toy guns that are very close to the real thing. i found this helps me out alot since you may want certian angles for it, that are nearly impossible to find. just dont make one up it will stick out. just my opinon

good luck

Gotta agree with Lord Stacker... try getting ahold of some pictures to use as references. I ended up needing to draw a couple of Desert Eagles when I drew AgentFox002... looked up the specific gun he indicated and copied it as close as I could.

The idea of getting ahold of a toy gun (squirtgun, maybe?) to get the particular angles you need is a good one as well.

Aye, okay. Thanks anyway. It's hard because I don't know names of guns either (I know NOTHING about this sorta stuff). I found a good picture, with the angle I want and everything... but... wrong sorta gun. +_+

A gun tutorial, you say?
I know a really good place to have a look...go to
www.polykarbon.com
From there, click on the tutorials - and it has everything from drawing hands, feet, basic mechs and even pistols and revolvers. I used to use this site for help a few years back and it hasn't changed much since that time...

Hope this helps you out.

My best advice would be to do a google image search and ue whatever guns you like as reference.

Thanks guys.

I totally forgot about polykarbon... didn't think of looking there. Will check it out. I'll also browse around on that gun site... cheers Murph. ^^

Strangely I did do an image search for Fox McCloud and I do have some reference pictures... just... not the right sorta gun. xD

Further to what I said earlier - Polykarbon has tutorials for drawing both revolvers and pistols - as well as some links to actual gun sites and stuff...which might prove useful.
