I stubled across an excellent resource for this wonderful program.

http://library.n0i.net/linux-unix/applications/graphics/gimp/

Especially check out "Teach Yourself GIMP in 24 Hours", which takes you from raw install ABC's to heavy-duty techniques.

if it was up to date on versions, it would be some use to me, but i run 2.0 (or higher, i cant remember my version), so a 1.0 tutorial is kinda pointless, cause i dont plan to D/L 1.0 (1.0 and 2.0- higher has changes)

It was a while ago I used the 2.something GIMP. It was not too long after the 2.x series was released and was buggy as heck, so I went back to 1.2.x.

I shall certainly keep an eye open for 2.x tutorials though, so thanks so much for the input, otherwise I'dda not known the tutorials weren't useful for 2.x '<img'>

I had NO idea we had a Tech place under Community. If any mod wants to move this, thanks! '<img'>

well the latest GIMP is not buggy, which is 2.2

I know when i first downloaded GIMP, it was 2.0, and that was buggy as hell. I beleive they fixed everything in 2.2, cause i havent found any bugs

Well, the Windows version has a tendency to hang and have to be restarted sometimes.  And yes this is 2.2.

Hard to tell if it was GIMP, Gtk or some Windows component that locks-up. '<img'>
