Furry Chest

Domafox here.  I am continuing with the new fur style I have been developing, and there is this one scene I am trying to create that involves one of my charcters showing his chest.

My question is, what are the best methods to make a chest look furry?

Depending on the look you're after you might want to concider this: on most animals the chest/stomach are the least furry part of the body and what fur they do have tends to be coarse, not soft . So drawing the hair in scruffy tufts around the ribs, diaphram, collarbone, etc would be one method of doing it. Myself, I just make a fur outline at the major break points along the chest as if the fur was standing out against the underlieing fur.

Short, quick strokes of the pencil along the lines of muscle definition.  Though don't overdo it, because then it will just look too wooly.

I agree with Ulario.
Is it a male or female character?  And what species?  Some animals have tufts of chest hair that stick out some.

My pic of AgentFox or Anthro-Fox Gambit show what Ulario mentioned:

But I don't have any pics of the chest fluff, oddly enough.  I thought I did....  Time for a new drawing!  ^_^
Dragonfoxes are crafty creatures, although highly protective.  They love a good prank, prefer to be loners, and this one is highly artistic.

Mostly canine or feline males is what I am aiming for at the moment.  But for the record it is a male fox or wolf.

I am just not getting the results when I try to draw from the front or a slight angle.  When it is seen from a profile angle, I can handle it.

Just a little wiggle on the outside curves of the breasts/pectorals is usually enough to show some fur texture.

This one is slightly overdone, as the fur seems to come to razor-sharp points, but it does show a small patch of scruffy fur down the center of the chest. For some creatures (especially felines and canines) this patch of fluff helps.
