In a slump?

While it's true we as individuals are our own worst critics, do you ever feel like you're just not good enough? Anyone currently in an art slump or unable to draw as often as you'd like to?

My current dilemma has been a combination of the above, stress from a new job, having recently moved, in a very confined space at home and severe lack of motivation. I find myself unable to finish what I start and it's quite frustrating. Can't say it's an art block, since I find inspiration everywhere, just can't put it to good use...

Any one of you going through this now, or have been in the past? How do you cope with such a difficult situation?

Yup!

In a funk right now. I have projects to do, but pull out the pencil and paper, stare at it for a minute, say "meh" and go surf the web or program some code instead.

'' well ive been there too, and also with the idea throwing in the towel completely. too many times.

anyway just stick with it, dont give up. if you cant find the energy to finish anything, then dont. not for a while atleast and just sketch, if you do this and keep with it, eventually your feelings will pass.

In the midst of one at the moment as well. Seems like I can't get anything to look right (even stuff that I normally had no problem with before).

Anyway... I know mine's due to various stresses from life in general and lack of time. *shrugs* Hoping it'll pass somedecade.

I feel pretty bad, because in the last year I've lost my drive to draw all the time. I've done my best stuff during then, but I've only drawn like, I dunno, 12 or so (however many is on my deviantart). And compared to how I used to draw, that's nothing at all. And it sucks. Feels I've lost my creativity. ':p'

I see all of these wonderful and popular artists putting their own work down..and it makes me feel....bad.

Sometimes I can look past it, but it does bother me =\

Tacoma why don't you do a remake of an older picture, but from a different angle, or make a sequal to an old picture. I usualy jump right into those once my pencil hits paper, even if I lack motivation before.

And yes I do feel like I don't get to draw enough anymore, my skill is slipping.
