Learning to draw
« on: September 12, 2008, 09:37:02 pm »
I used to play with colored pencils a bit when I was in the Sonic fandom, but I don't know how to draw anything except basic backgrounds and Sonic-styled characters. How would I go about learning to draw anthro or wildlife art if I were to try to do so? Are there any first steps, tutorials, etc. that would make things easier?

How did you get started in artwork?

I used this site http://hippie.nu/~unicorn/tut/xhtml/#basic-anthro-hands.
I never got into drawing, but I did read the entirety of it. I thought it was pretty good.

I tried not to rely on tutorial or anything similar, I just kept drawing each part of an anthro until I was able to put them all together.

I now use photographs of people to get the pose, and use my self taught skills to make it anthro ^^

Ah! That's better, or just as good, as anything! As long as it produces results and you're satisfied with the outcome, there's no harm done at all with your style! Good job, and I look forward to more of your art! :)
