What do you think of Illustrator, and do you use it for your art? Or do you prefer traditional media?

Me, I tend to like using Illustrator or the like because it is incredibly easy to trace over the lineart I penciled and scanned in, and then 'ink' it and add fills. Besides, it's alot of fun ^^

I like to do mine with traditional media, prefering colored pencils. I have done some playing around with scanning a B&W sketch and coloring it with Photoshop, but it's to complicated for my tastes. I will occasionally clean up a pic or add the background with Photoshop after I've finished with the pencils.

I tried cg coloring before, but I just didn't like it. I like to be able to feel the pencil, markers, ink, etc. Especially the ink. I have a love affair with ink...it's so smooth..and black...mmm, uh, nevermind.

Edit-this would probably go better in the "artistic technique" section

I much prefer traditional media, myself.
As for Illustrator, I reserve that for working in graphic design and such. That's what it's mainly intended for. '<img'>

I love Illustrator. Even more so than Photoshop in my opinion. I started out on Freehand and transitioned to Illustrator around version 7.0. Since then I haven't looked back.

I probably have done more design by Adobe Illustrator than traditional hand-drawn, as most of my Illustrator art is eventually copied and animated in Macromedia Flash. At work I've used it for Flash also, but more so for tracework creating better looking maps and illustrations by scan and retracing the line art, and adding depth with colors, gradients, etc.

Cool ^^

I started out with Flash, then I learned the joys of the pen-tool, and found out that it isn't so hard to use.

Here are two versions of the pic that I uploaded to dA:

As for the 'wrong section'... oops!! ROFL!

Yay! Someone that likes Illustrator!  *hugs*

One of the first things I drew with Illustrator:

Deinonychus

And I also did a lot of ElastiCritters stuff with Illustrator, too.  Like this one:

Kino the Echidna

I also did a pic of Rouge the Bat for my Freehand class  (In Freehand, which sucks compared to Illustrator).  Unfortunately, I don't have access to the nice, clean, finished version:

Rouge The Bat (unfinished version)

You might recognize that from a scene in Sonic X.
NYA!  =^_^=

Very cute pictures! You have Illustrator at home?

Not cheap enough for me, unfortunately, so I have to resort to 'desperate' measures XD
